Anyone had five of one gender, in a row??

I'm expecting for the 5th time. Sadly I lost my first daughter when I was 25 weeks pregnant. I have gone on to have three dds since and am 18 weeks pregnant with DC4. I prefer not to find out the gender. I did when my first pregnancy got into trouble at 22 weeks. They told me I was having a boy and when I delivered my daughter and looked myself to check her sex (she was stillborn) and saw she was a girl, I was filled with delight at such a sad time. For my sanity with my surviving dd1, I found out her sex at the 20w scan, but dd2 and 3 I found out the sex at birth. I am now wildy curious about the sex of this baby but don't want to find out. It's unscientific I know, but just wondering if anyone has had five of the same gender in a row. Given my history, alive and healthy is the best outcome, regardless of gender. I have to admit now though, that curiosity is really starting to get the better of me!

A classmate of mine (many years ago) was number 2 out of 5 girls. All 5 in 6 years. Her mother had a gap of 6 years then and had a baby boy who was so adored and cared for by 5 older sisters I don't think he ever fully realised who his mother was. It's still like that now they're all adult.

I guess you must be on tenterhooks with curiosity. However, from your first experience the news was wrong wasn't it, so maybe it's best to wait for a lovely surprise. Either way, healthy is the best outcome, yes, but a guessing game can be fun too.

I think as you get older more statistically likely to have a girl. Or so I've heard.

i know a lady who has 5 daughters and no sons.

Wow! So there are a lot out there! Not so many Mums with five children in inner London to conduct my research. Of course this had only served to increase my curiosity but I don't want to find out because finding out the sex for myself has always been one of the nicest moments of my life. Happyinherts, mine will be five in six years and about three weeks if we're going by due date. I am absolutely knackered! And yes, because they got it wrong the first time, it give me another reason not to find out. So, now only about 20-ish weeks to wait!

I'm about to have my 4th boy. Worked with a guy who was no. 6 of 6 boys (who grew up in a 2 bed Glasgow flat!), also another friend married to no.4 of 5 boys. I think some folk are just made that way. If I had 10 I'm sure they'd all be boys. I think it's fate for us. If dh hadn't have had a boy his family name spud have gone - and the supporter base of his crap football teams also declining as they tumble down the leagues.

Local lady had 4 boys followed by 4 girls. She has a little baby now (I dunno which flavour).

I used to know a lady on another forum who had 5 boys and no girls :)

They say that sometimes if you keep having the same sex it's because your uterus is more friendly to that sex, or sometimes the sperm your DH produces of one type is more robust than the other, so always wins out.

Ten boys - crikey - that is the stuff of folklore. I am probably supposed to have boys and not girls. My husband's nickname at college was Hefty - umm, that's not the best thing for a mother of many girls! I'm not particularly a girly girl, yet I have managed to produce at least two frilly princesses. I love having girls, but has they grow older (dd1 is almost five) I am constantly surprised at how girly they are!!!

There's a family in my town with five boys, ages 1-8! They all look exactly alike and have Old Testament names, so for the life of me I cannot keep them straight. I'm all "Um...Malachai? No? Josiah? Erm..." :) They're sweeties, I really like the family.

Not quite the same but I have a brother and a sister we had 7 boys between us and they have gone on to have 8 boys between them, no sign of a girl in fact they all just assume they will have a boy!!

Not quite 5 but I have 4 girls and my sister in law has 4 boys. One lady I know had 7 sons and no daughters.

My friend thought that would be her - she's pregnant with DC5 after four sons and assumed it would be another son - but no.5 is a girl!
