I've managed to avoid Candace, but I've never liked RB, he's done some very unpleasant things in his time.

I can’t bring my myself to listen to Candace, I did see a clip of her conversation with Russell Brand and it was awful. The next day I saw RB saying something about that he wanted to go to Israel, so I don’t know if he’s confused! He’s not someone I’d want speaking up for me anyway.
From what I’ve heard Candace seems to be getting more and more unhinged. What is it now, Charlie Kirk’s wife planned his murder with Israel?!
What’s worrying is how many people think she’s really onto something.

Exactly. Its not a niche zine. That cartoon went through the editorial process and the paper thinks its audience will buy it. As far as I know there is no mass protest outside the papers's offices!

That’s why we post the tracking of antisemitic incidents on the Jewish mumsnetters board. Were this on the main board, it would have been jumped on already and the whole thread would be half full. Here we can document what we see (mostly) unmolested.

it’s also why the Jewish board is hidden from active.

@EllaDisenchanted I was very active on CITME under a different user name until I was banned (!) at which time the Jewish Mumsnetter board had very little activity.

Truthfully it isnt all Irish people, but like you said Sharon, it says an awful lot about the general ‘climate’ in Ireland that a newspaper could think these were acceptable to print. They know their audience.

It’s quieter here but I don’t think there’s that many Jewish posters tbh! If Jews are 0.4% of the uk population, I imagine we’re proportionally low in numbers here too!

We just flew to the states to spend Christmas at my in-laws (my husband isn’t Jewish). My mother in law bought a menorah and candles for us :)

I forgot to say, the first of those cartoons was published in '93. In other words this is a very longstanding problem at the Irish Times.

i believe someone mentioned the arrest and ongoing court proceedings against these two men, who were alleged to be planning a terror attack against the Manchester Jewish community.

Many in Britain will have missed that Walid Saadaoui and Amar Hussein are on trial after police say they caught them with assault rifles and almost 200 rounds of ammunition.

It is alleged that the defendants were waiting for a further 700 rounds before embarking on a mass shooting.
