I have just ordered some Jewish star earrings as I’m so annoyed with everything right now I’ve decided to be brave but then I hear this sort of story and think about how freaking scary it would be to end up needing help and finding someone like that.

That's so awful. Why can't you wear a symbol of your religion and heritage? I can understand why you wouldn't though and it makes me angry.

I know, it’s so difficult and sad. I wore my Star of David necklace a lot more after 7/10 but haven’t worn it for a few months and I just don’t feel brave anymore. I know how ridiculous it is that wearing it felt brave in the first place. I do have a Hebrew bracelet I wear all the time though, which is a lot less obvious but still feels nice to wear something.

In case it makes anyone feel better I wear a Star of David necklace everyday and have never had a problem, but equally I'm in London so may have a different experience to someone in another part of the country.

And luckily have never met anyone as awful as that doctor

It might have been on this thread (or maybe an earlier one) where i talked about my mother in Australia. You will recall the case of the two HCPs in a Sydney hospital who boasted on youtube that if they had a Jewish patient they would kill them? They did it in their scrubs on screen with their names etc visible- that is how emboldened the anti semites are. Indeed the male HCP said he had actually already killed a Jewish patient.

My mother was then undertaking alot of operations at her local hospital and religion is something that was put on all her charts. She went in and asked for all traces of her religion to be removed from the records and the person handling the records looked at her and said to her quietly 'I don't blame you'.

I'm not sure what the outcome has been re those HCPs. I know they received a barrage of anger on social media and in the mainstream press and they went into hiding and their families complained about the 'hate' they were receiving. I'll go look to see if anything concrete has happened to them. I doubt it, but happy to stand corrected.

That's an absolutely shocking story. They are emboldened. This is happening everywhere. They are normalising hate.

The Green Party are having a motion that "Zionism = Racism". The Jewish Greens are understandably concerned.

Yes. They've taken quite a turn. However, every time I suggest this, all I get is "Zack Polanski is Jewish! They can't be antisemitic!".
The ultimate gotcha.

On that other thread the anti semitic poster who claims to just be engaging in idle speculation has gone full on conspiracy theory. We knew what lay underneath their 'just discussing' claim. But they can't even hide it any more. I've asked MN to ban them, not just delete. I fully believe if that poster was posting anything like that about any other group they would be banned outright. I think we can probably guess this won't happen this time though. Since October 7 MN has allowed some absolutely shocking posts and posters to stand.

I've emailed as well. It's shocking.

My DP (who isn't Jewish) wears the star earrings I bought him a few years ago. He's quite a large guy so he hasn't had any hassle while wearing them. I get some dark looks on public transport when some people notice my Star of David necklace. I've been known to stare people down!
I also hope never to experience a doctor or other health professional who bears such hatred for us.

That particular poster got away with murder. And then posted 'I am your friend'!
I cannot understand why she hasn't been banned but there again there are a number like her who shouldn't be allowed to post their hatred so freely.

Some Green Party members are repeating the false flag and Jews being responsible for the ambulance arson.

I .. just..,can't. Imagine having all that hate and racism inside of you and thinking you are the good guys.

My dad says most people are good. But looking at this, I think - honestly- civilisation and basic human decency- is lost.

I think what's happened is something very simplistic; a manipulation of the war in Gaza to make it seem as if it's just white colonialists v non white oppressed poor people. The rallies emphasised and underlined it. It's easy - Free Palestine! So people were drawn in. Some naive people have become willing fools for something quite sinister. Quite why the Greens have got so hate filled id anyone's guess.

Sorry I’ve been absent; have struggled a lot with my mental health in recent weeks.

How awful about the ambulances being set on fire, it just gets worse and worse.

And then Keir Starmer is all wide eyed and shocked…really?! This government have helped foster an environment in which antisemitism is thriving.

They all make me sick.
