I felt bad calling it Mumsnet could do better 😬

Very poor response.

I agree with the thread title, MN could do better, much better!

There is an active thread in Scotsnet where one poster has expressed support for Nazism and blamed Zionism, cast doubt on the Holocaust and finally posted this response (marked sensitive in case anyone doesn't want to see antisemitism this morning).

I've reported it three times (the first more than 9 hours ago) with no response or acknowledgement from mumsnet, despite also responding directly to an email about another post by the same person which had been deleted.

It is shameful.

I saw that thread - the Jewish people "apparently" suffered a genocide according to one poster. Hope they get banned.

Nothing subtle about that antisemitism although MN mods seem to be struggling to identify it if you have reported it 3 times!

Pure hatred.

Pudmyboy · 15/06/2026 14:40

I think it has been taken down, I can't see it today, thankfully!
Shame it took so much work to get it removed though.

ErroltheSwampDragon · 15/06/2026 16:08

Yes, they got round to it later that morning and have removed most the posts from that individual. They did also acknowledge my suggestion that they need to monitor threads/user who have posted deliberately hateful things, but no idea if they actually plan to change anything

Thanks to @Twiglets1 for your responses on that thread ❤️

No problem x

They acknowledged your suggestion which is good but I can't help feeling cynical that anything will change. They have been aware for years now that some threads and users continually post hateful stuff against Israel and Jewish people and they have done nothing to intervene beyond deleting some posts if reported.

Hopefully people are waking up finally that antisemitism cannot be allowed to flow unchecked in the UK- on discussion forums or anywhere. Great news today that the Court of Appeal has ruled that the government's proscription of Palestine Action as a terror organisation is lawful.

Pudmyboy · 15/06/2026 17:48

That's fantastic news, thank you @Twiglets1 !
I was caught up in one of the matches in the city I live in, as I was trying to cross the road before they started.
So scary, really horrible experience, and that's speaking as a non-Jew (who stands with Israel)!

It is good news.

Taking violent or criminal action is the way of Palestine Action. They are keen on smashing things up or throwing red paint over things. Thugs. Glad they are being stopped.

Very accurate 😂

Neverstopwondering · 16/08/2026 15:30

Just wondering if they have found a way to blame Israel, mossad or/and Jews for the Jason Arday thing yet?

Ihatetomatoes · 16/08/2026 16:09

I avoid CITME as much as possible now. The amount of rubbish spoken by some posters that doesn't get deleted is worrying. Spreading conspiracy theories seems to be ok on MN.

Posters who pushback are few now, most have long gone. Just old fashioned hate left there now.

The latest charming conspiracy theory being said on there is that Israel knew 7/10/23 was going to happen and allowed it to happen "for their own reasons".

I've reported that person so often and they did get several posts deleted yesterday to be fair. But yet they still carry on posting garbage ... it feels pointless reporting in a way because God knows how many offensive posts someone has to make, and get deleted, before MN will suspend someone.

Neverstopwondering · 16/08/2026 17:13

That one isn't particularly new was doing the rounds within weeks of 7/10

Mod or possibly mods decided to ban certain posters unless they would apologise for certain posts. As the posts were just pointing out the truth about the way certain other posters behaved. How they were being two faced about the hostages eg on one thread so sympathetic then another thread all hostages were prisoners of war etc. Basically no self respecting person was going to apologise for pointing that out so mod or mods blocked accounts. Years on Mumsnet talking about various things then accounts get blocked for refusing to tow the pro hamas line of uses and mods that haveonlybeenabouta short time. Pretty sure other users are still about but given up bothering trying to debate certain subjects when Mumsnet prefers an echo chamber.

Talking about echo chambers there is a good video of Tim Michim speaking about them on YouTube

Sending a truly lot of love to you all xxxx

Yes I was informed on the thread by a different poster that people were voicing this conspiracy theory down the pub shortly after 7/10/23.

And still being repeated in August 2026 on Mumsnet.

MN mods don’t seem to care that board is becoming more of an echo chamber each day with the way antisemitic posters are allowed to stay, driving out good faith members of the community. Though (possibly hypocritically) they have assured me in a private message that they welcome my “robust debate” because they don’t want the board to become an echo chamber 🤷🏼‍♀️

It isn’t my responsibility to moderate their site but the onus does seem to be on users to report things rather than them adopt a more proactive approach.

ErroltheSwampDragon · 16/08/2026 18:00

There was a thread the other day (in Site Stuff) criticising the moderation and pointing out the lack of investment in the site.

The whole place just feels so vicious sometimes. There's a thread at thre moment about feeding the OP's seven year old DSD, who keeps kosher, and several people have said not to bother and just give her beans on toast for a month. She's seven!

For goodness sake this is supposed to be a parenting site.

Makes you wonder what they are teaching their kids at home because obviously not basic human decency or love and kindness for a small child it seems.
