Ok I have taken the bait because I think it's important we have somewhere to chat and decompress.

There is an awful lot of name changing going on and we must remember that although it should be, this is not a safe space. We are followed here and that is worth considering (especially if you don't want to be deleted)

I am grateful for all the love and support though and I thank each and every one of you. You are all stronger than you know. I wish I had something profound to say but I don't...: this will have to do!

@Wflwer, do you ever say the Shema?

What is the second word?

”save Ireland from the Jews” banners in Cincinnati hung on st Patrick’s day. Been taken down now.

we Jews continue to be a problem for some, clearly.

I’m sure Ireland was very grateful for this plea for rescue by some people who’ve probably never set foot in Ireland.

Humdingerydoo · 18/03/2024 23:21

No but @EllaDisenchanted that doesn't make any sense - it's Israel people have a problem with, not Jews. We've all been repeatedly assured that claims of antisemitism are exaggerated and it's actually just weaponised to further the Zionist cause. So you must be imagining it.

25milesfromhome · 18/03/2024 23:27

But the 2,700 Jews Zionists in Ireland must be terribly threatening, hence the international cry for help.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 18/03/2024 23:43

I'm really sorry that your safe place has been encroached on. I decided to stop engaging when I saw the poster was just like the ones on the CIME boards; full of venom, apt to shift goalposts, post unsubstantiated claims out of context and aiming to cause upset and trouble.

Interesting and concerning article about civil servants being encouraged to influence policy on the current ME conflict. I've also seen articles elsewhere about local council meetings (and equivalent local governance in the US) being put under immense pressure by pro-Palestine activist groups (of no particular faith).

:(

stomachamelon · 19/03/2024 20:18

I have read that Elyon levy has been suspended.

LordPercyPercy · 20/03/2024 12:22

Yes ostensibly due to a reply to David Cameron, but Sarah Netanyahu has been gunning for him for months. Nothing from his own socials yet.

EllaDisenchanted · 21/03/2024 15:12

If anyone is interested, aish are doing a global hour of Jewish unity, live now, although I assume you could go back and watch. Hersh goldbergs parents are speaking right now

aish.com

EllaDisenchanted · 21/03/2024 15:14

They are speaking live to hostage families at the kotel as the Fast of Esther is coming to a conclusion.

they are aiming to get Jews around the world to say shema together at 530 (Israel time - in 15 mins).

gingergran · 21/03/2024 19:50

I’m not a religious person but found the whole event very moving especially listening to Hersh’s parents and to the other hostages’ relatives leading prayers at the Kotel

That is absolutely disgusting. Her poor family, horrendous.

Sincebreakfast · 28/03/2024 08:55

Can someone please explain why. Egypt aren’t opening their border?
Why Israel responsible for feeding the enemy?

gingergran · 28/03/2024 13:36

Because Egypt, and for that matter Jordan, doesn’t want thousands of Palestinian to cross the border. If they did then they would have integrated the Palestinians when Gaza was under Egyptian control until 1967.

Just when I think things can't get worse or the bar can't drop lower it does.... real punch in the gut moments. Have seen some lovely pictures of the 'real' shani today on the hostage pages...

Love this page.

Humdingerydoo · 13/04/2024 22:04

Made the mistake of seeing what's being said about tonight's events. I have regrets.

For anyone with friends and family in Israel, I hope they all stay safe. It's scary times. As well as those of you who are there yourselves. Take care of yourselves xx

stomachamelon · 13/04/2024 22:25

@Humdingerydoo completely agree with all your points xx am yisrael chai

0palfrootee · 15/04/2024 20:25

Ugh those threads. Just horrible to read. Some of those posters...well, I'm choosing my words carefully but I'm amazed some of them are still posting on MN.

Hélène79 · 15/04/2024 20:52

I'm truly gobsmacked by some of the stuff I've read today.
