Ok I have taken the bait because I think it's important we have somewhere to chat and decompress.

There is an awful lot of name changing going on and we must remember that although it should be, this is not a safe space. We are followed here and that is worth considering (especially if you don't want to be deleted)

I am grateful for all the love and support though and I thank each and every one of you. You are all stronger than you know. I wish I had something profound to say but I don't...: this will have to do!

Terrorist attack in Zurich.

I’ve heard he is in stable condition now

stomachamelon · 03/03/2024 12:40

@EllaDisenchanted that's good news!

MissConductUS · 03/03/2024 21:48

I’d be interested in everyone’s reaction to this opinion piece in the WSJ by a member of the Royal Historical Society. It’s about why more isn’t being done about the recurring anti-Israel and antisemitic protests in the UK.

Hmm. That's all a bit thinly-veiled Islamophobia if you ask me. I don't think it's fair to blame the mobs etc on Muslims - we're seeing similar mob mentality and intimidation from climate activists, and have done for years. They've been getting progressively worse and more violent. It's all the useful idiots desperate for a cause that are creating the vast majority of the problems.

Humdingerydoo · 04/03/2024 13:20

Sorry, just to add - I think more isn't done because people are scared of being targeted by the mobs both in person and online. The mobs are bullies and are more than happy to ruin people's lives to further their cause, their own agenda.

Interesting article. Am not posting this on main board for the obvious reasons!

Another article on the change in perspectives in kibbutz's. Am posting here so it can't be ripped apart.

Entering room very quietly to ask, do you know that this post is appearing in ' last hour ' / ' talk ' so it may not be as safe a place as you think / hope / believe / need @stomachamelon
tip toeing quietly back out of the room as I am not of the Jewish faith

Interesting article about data:
Won't repost as some useful person will mention 'it's written by someone called Abraham thus is bias'
Anyway.... food for thought.

EllaDisenchanted · 13/03/2024 18:09

how is everyone doing?

EllaDisenchanted · 13/03/2024 18:09

how is everyone doing?

I’m ground down by all the obsessive performative outrage. I was however amused to read that just a day after sporting her Artists4Ceasefire pin, Billie Eilish was spotted getting Starbucks and misguided people on the internet were SO MAD. (I suppose they might claim she was caught red-handed? Badum tish! Sorry.)

How are you doing?

Humdingerydoo · 13/03/2024 22:56

Caught red-handed 😂😂😂😂😂 please don't apologise for such a top-notch joke!

0palfrootee · 14/03/2024 08:16

I've totally abandoned the ME board and feel much better for it! Have been listening to a podcast that I've been enjoying a lot - "A Muslim and a Jew go there" with David Baddiel and Sayeeda Warsi. I'm on ep2 at the moment.

PurpleChrayn · 14/03/2024 09:20

I just made the mistake of going on the Conflict in the ME board. Oy abroch...

Going to cheer myself up decorating the house for Purim. I ordered a set of paper bunting and stuff from Amazon - not Purim themed but generally chagigi. Can't wait to see DD's face when she gets home from gan!

I've not posted for a while as I was having some trouble with my account. But things are going ok at Chrayn Towers.

I've been going to a fantastic Jewish baby group in Manchester - it's a schlep to get there but worth it.

I've also set up a Jewish press/literary journal after seeing so much anti-Jewish sentiment in the publishing field.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

0palfrootee · 14/03/2024 09:54

Yes, best avoided. I have more chance of getting my teenager to put his dirty clothes in the washing basket once a day than anyone does of having a good-faith discussion on there. And the chances of that are pretty slim, despite my constant nagging best efforts.

EllaDisenchanted · 14/03/2024 12:28

@PurpleChrayn thats amazing!

@0palfrootee 😅

EllaDisenchanted · 14/03/2024 12:30

@25milesfromhome I’m ok thanks 🙏

stomachamelon · 14/03/2024 19:04

@EllaDisenchanted will have a look.

@Humdingerydoo welcome back ;)

I am having a quieter day as am fed up with the 'do you mean.... rubbish'

I would say if I did. Not hiding light under a bushel here.

Anyway (deep breath) hugs to all.

Humdingerydoo · 14/03/2024 22:24

Thanks @stomachameleon ! I've decided not to go back on the board and hoping to actually stick to it this time! There are only a handful of regular haters on there anyway, the same people posting over and over again. They can keep their ridiculous echo-chambers. The fact that even the thread about rape victims was being put through a hostile takeover by them was quite telling of their incredible efforts in dehumanising Israelis. So I'm out 😊 I know they will inevitably consider this a win but that's ok. I have better things to do with my time than interact with bullies.

(If I ever venture anywhere near that board again, please remind me of this post 😂 )

Right, Purim. What should my primary school child dress up as??? I've not recovered from World Book Day yet, and we have Red Nose Day for one of the kids tomorrow too 🤦🏻‍♀️
