Ok I have taken the bait because I think it's important we have somewhere to chat and decompress.

There is an awful lot of name changing going on and we must remember that although it should be, this is not a safe space. We are followed here and that is worth considering (especially if you don't want to be deleted)

I am grateful for all the love and support though and I thank each and every one of you. You are all stronger than you know. I wish I had something profound to say but I don't...: this will have to do!

I had an interesting conversation with someone I know who works in Labour who reckons Jeremy wouldn't have the organisational capacity or funding to set up a new party and field a load of candidates within a short time period so they don't think it's really any threat. Farage obviously had a load of rich mates.

@noblegiraffe maybe we could crowdfund? Or get your calendars on Kickstarter or something!

Perhaps he could have a fete and vegetable sale down his allotment

Don't suppose anyone saw the 'Frum TikTok' video today before it got deleted? The young Hasidic New Yorker emerging from the pavement tunnel onto the street - hat intact, coat uncrumpled. I nearly gave myself a hernia.

@Humdingerydoo It was a really long thread and bonkers but it's gone now. Basically there seems to have been some kind of schism between the younger and older members of a congregation. The Rabbi complained about a secret tunnel the youngsters were using for studying in, so he arranged for it to be concreted. Then a full scale riot broke out and the coppers turned up. It was proper People's Front of Judea. There was a video though of one of the dude's emerging up through the pavement grates onto the street, full clobber, cool as you like, as if it was totally normal behaviour. I assume to escape the police. I was honestly crying laughing at it.

So the tunnel linked to another property it seems. Details are pretty sketchy

That is excellent!! So incredibly random. I mean, riot is obviously not great (I hope no one was injured?) but the randomness and ridiculousness of it all is incredible

Yeah I just watched the NYP video which showed the rioting and a little bit of a man climbing out the tunnel before quickly showing the rioting again. Ridiculous people.

London's experience of PIRA was not even on the scale of Belfast's experience. London didn't have 22 bombs placed around it and detonated the way Belfast did. We call it Bloody Friday which most people don't really know about but they'll know of Bloody Sunday! 🤦‍♂️

And Belfast's experience of terrorism is absolutely nowhere near the scale of what Tel Aviv has had to deal with either.

People hear about acts of terrorism, but they never bother to comprehend scale of terrorism. Or they struggle to.

Scale of conflict matters.

And all wars are conflicts, but not all conflicts are wars. Can't remember where I heard that a long time ago.
