Ok I have taken the bait because I think it's important we have somewhere to chat and decompress.

There is an awful lot of name changing going on and we must remember that although it should be, this is not a safe space. We are followed here and that is worth considering (especially if you don't want to be deleted)

I am grateful for all the love and support though and I thank each and every one of you. You are all stronger than you know. I wish I had something profound to say but I don't...: this will have to do!

I have just looked on a thread. The last two posts are from 5th January. I saw them on the day and deliberately didn't not post anything else because they prove the posters don't even understand what they are arguing about

Seriously hope nobody else posts on that thread again because the last to posts discredit the whole thread 😂

(Any bad faith lurkers here better go find what I am talking about because two users have massively cocked up the narrative being peddled)

Ahh @Trulywonderful I am sure you'll be fine at the school gates. Just be as open with people as you feel comfortable with and they will all stop caring about your age. After realising how much hope you've given them about still having a sex life when older, that is :)

Alternatively, just tell them you're 30 and see how they react. That'd be fun.

I am lucky and three schools close that we feel good about. One we prefer but I won't be gutted if she got in either of the other two. I know some people are not as lucky as us in having local choices that are decent schools

The fact she is starting school and I have to start with the whole primary school child thing again is something else. My youngest two sons are in secondary school. So starting over with primary school from the beginning is a bit of a laugh in general

Things feel particularly rough at the moment.

The footage of the female hostages that's been released - absolutely heartbreaking. If it was my daughter I don't know how I would function.

And one of DH's friends, whom he has supported from afar - a member of Knesset called Ofer Cassif, has signed the South Africa petition calling Israel's actions a genocide. DH spent countless hours helping Cassif and the Hadash party, co-authoring articles in the Morning Star, facilitating interviews with leftists in the UK. He says it feels like a betrayal. There are calls for Cassif to be removed from the Knesset.

It's all such a mess.

That is rough isn't it.I think people on all sides are going to lose more friends unfortunately that is the nature of this beast politically

Well apart from a couple of people on this thread that said they had a mumsnet forced time out

I got an email saying the one who posted the laughing emoji was a PBP and now banned. Others only had posts deleted.
