Seriously. Is it the same few people just name changing or is it really this toxic in the UK? There is so much poisonous Jewish hatred on here. I'm not talking hatred of Israel, just vile antisemitism on so many posts now.

I truly think I have to step away before I lose faith in humanity. Why does MN seem to attract so many hateful posters? Maybe it's the anonymity.

I can't keep calling it out. Im exhausted and actually deeply disturbed by it now.

@PurpleChrayne that made me chuckle....

Yes, that's the kind of thing I was saying and polls certainly do show most young people in the Republic of Ireland don't understand the Troubles, how it went or who took the most lives.

So, they romanticise PIRA and then claim its not offensive, including to those of us in Northern Ireland who suffered at the hands of PIRA.

This attitude has definitely spilled over into the same attitudes towards Hamas which is why I took apart so many posts trying to suggest PIRA were freedom fighters. It's just rubbish on any angle. 🤷‍♂️

Is education about the troubles in schools and universities similar to that about this conflict. In the UK schools either don't teach or mention it or just give a very sanitary version that doesn't teach all the facts for fear being told they are prejudice by one side or the other.

I'm not even Jewish and have found it exhausting (I just happen to support Israel. I am Christian). I just cannot believe the numbers on the other side. I now see for the first time how the Labour party was rent asunder by this.

I'm exactly the same.

I've given those boards a wide berth for quite a few days now and feel much better for it.

Long anxious wait tonight to see if they release the hostages, and who. Feel like all yesterday and today was just waiting and waiting and waiting.
Last night we went for a walk. 5 minutes from my house is a load of big chairs, kids chairs and high chairs each with a picture and name of a hostage on. We went past and didn’t yet know which hostages had been released so we were looking at all of them. It hit hard, especially the little children who are so close to my kids ages.

etmoiandme · 25/11/2023 20:56

@EllaDisenchanted I don't have family in Israel but I did cry watching them being released last night (and I'm not generally a crier). Sending strength to you and yours from the UK.

EllaDisenchanted · 25/11/2023 21:06

Thanks @etmoiandme ♥️ distracting myself now while I wait, so… has anyone actually got a copy of these annuals? Are they actually real?! And if so can you post some pics from inside???

PurpleChrayne · 25/11/2023 21:09

Hoping and praying so hard that the second batch of hostages is released tonight. Very emotional watching the videos of the reunions for the first group, and that sweet boy enjoying his first meal of schnitzel.

etmoiandme · 25/11/2023 21:15

@EllaDisenchanted You just want to see a 'page seven fella' pin up of him, don't you?

EllaDisenchanted · 25/11/2023 21:44

@etmoiandme welllll….. 🤫

EllaDisenchanted · 25/11/2023 21:48

Still slowly releasing hostage names as they wait for them to be met by their family first, but looks like Emily Hand was released.

ProvincialLady1 · 26/11/2023 12:21

I hope things go well on the march today, for those of you going. So sorry not to be able to attend but it's very much in my thoughts today.

0palfruity · 26/11/2023 13:03

I'd completely missed the news about Emily Hand being a hostage. I remember seeing her dad on the news when he thought she'd been killed - his raw grief and pain was awful to see. I felt so sad for him. I'm so glad to see that he has his little girl back.

noblegiraffe · 26/11/2023 13:32

Hope those going on the march have a good day and that it all goes smoothly and safely.

Holy moly, that's hilarious!!

Bigminnie1 · 26/11/2023 18:04

It was amazing- so many people.

SpuytenDuyvil · 26/11/2023 20:02

I am grateful for all of you. I am in the US and laid up at the moment, so I couldn't march, but I thank you and everyone else who is present for us.

Towerofsong · 26/11/2023 20:05

I went and am so glad I did!
Really good turn out, organisers said 105,000 people. No trouble that I saw. Would just have liked more rounds of Am Yisrael Chai and Kol Ha'Olam Kulo 😊

ChickenSoupAndLokshen · 26/11/2023 21:24

I wish I had been able to go today but we were in a different part of the country. I'm so pleased - and relieved- so many people marched. I have felt very alone in my Jewishness and it's heartening for Jews and non-Jews to come together to make their views and presence felt on such an important matter.

25milesfromhome · 26/11/2023 21:31

It was a good day and I’m also glad I went. It felt dignified and peaceful and I couldn’t quite believe how many people were there. 105,000 strong.
It’s also really put the merry little band of antisemitic Mumsnet Musketeers into perspective. Their voices have dwindled to nothing for me in the face of the overwhelming solidarity I felt today.

That is adorable!!! 🥰

BeggyMitchell · 27/11/2023 08:43

The batch looked amazing and I wish I could have been there in solidarity- as a born Londoner who no longer lives there it was particularly frustrating!

Well done everyone Flowers.
