Its hugely disappointing that black MNers met with such resistance and upset when a designated board was suggested . I feel so angry when I come across any racism and that we need to have each others back and do what we can to support other ethnic minorities as well as our own. Needing our own boards is shows just how much we are still up against it when it comes to racism and othering. Sending love and solidarity 💐

Sticking my head in to say well done, and good that you've got some kind of sticky saying the board is primarily for the use of Jewish Mumsnetters, though others are welcome to post -- but is that strongly worded enough?

I agree it was awful that the women who wanted and needed the Black Mumsnetters board had to face such difficulty to get it, and I wanted to acknowledge that the pushback they fought has paved the way for this board, and I'm grateful to them ❤️ If anyone has the username for the woman behind the BM board, please let me know, she should be thanked on here too.

Not Jewish but really glad you've got this board and hopefully it will be what you need it be. Have been completely horrified by the twisting, turning whataboutery and apologism on MN this last week. Names on this site I'll never be able to see on a thread again without curling my lip with disgust at the stance they took.

Great job @Asthebellcurves. Checking in for our new space. Thank you for thinking of this and pleased Mumsnet recognised it was needed. Sad to be where we are though.

hey @ticketstickets I think I might be on the same other group too ;) I have done the opposite of you and been avoiding mumsnet, and going more on there this week.

I don't know if this board will last (I hope it does!), as we really are so few in number, but the outpouring of love and support for a safe space Jewish board on mumsnet has been really moving for me, and not naming names as there are so many, but you've all brought some light in to a very dark week.

This is great. I'm always pleased to see other Jewish mumsnetters 'outed' (by choice!) on other threads. Messages of solidarity from non Jewish MNers are much appreciated too during this horrible time.

Well done and thank you to asthebellcurves. I'm ashamed to say I'm a three day jew, went to shul for a special prayer service last week and decided to attend more often. Thank you to all who posted on the other thread and made this board happen so quickly.

I'm not Jewish but have had to take a few days break from MN as I found the antisemitism hard to process and to keep responding to.
I don't think I've ever reported a post unti this week and now I seem to have been doing it constantly in capital letters screaming at MNHQ.

So if I've found it hard I can't imagine how difficult it's been for the Jewish mothers here.

I ham horrified by the anti semitism on MN and in the UK as a whole. I had no idea so many of the UK population held such opinions.

The things I have heard over the last few days have been so deeply upsetting. It’s often from people I like and respect who don’t necessarily understand what they’re saying is antisemitic.

This underlying, ingrained antisemitism upsets me more than people openly shouting racist chants in the street. The type of antisemitism from people who would class themselves as not racist is the result of thousands of years of fear and hatred of Jews. It’s never gone away.

Not my board, but I hope you all find this dedicated space a support during this dark time- the level of anti-semitism in the last week has been awful. Solidarity and support from Ireland.

I am pleased you now have this space and hope it is a place of solace and understanding. I hope you also know how many of us so strongly feel for what you are going through and hold you deeply in our thoughts and hearts ❤️ . I’ve been ashamed of this country the past week. Although glad about the new board I remain deeply disappointed in mumsnet to put it mildly, too weak by far in the face of rampant antisemitism.
