What is your largest ever premium bond win?

Just that. I hold the full whack plus extra for my kids and never win more than a few 100 pounds.

Interested to hear from others and whether I should shift my cash!

I won £5000 just over a year ago. We were on holiday at the time so had a great time spending a bit more than we usually would. It was a lovely surprise.

🤞for tomorrow!

My dad won 50k once. I’m still seething with jealousy because he hasn’t got as much as me in there!

TheZenOne22 · 01/10/2025 21:11

I’ve won £100 once - that was with about £3k in. It excites me each month with the ‘what if’ so will continue to put money in.

OSTMusTisNT · 01/10/2025 22:09

My largest single prize for one bond is £100 and largest monthly total winnings is £350 split over 5 smaller amounts.

lelwa · 01/10/2025 22:26

My largest win was £5k

Katieweasel · 01/10/2025 23:03

£5k last January 🙂

Sparks654 · 01/10/2025 23:05

1000 once. But mostly it's 25. Not actually worth it if interest rates are at 5%. If they are heading back to 2% then it might be.

logging · 02/10/2025 06:19

Combo for one draw has been £1200 but that was for 7 £100 wins and a £500 win.

Kuretake · 02/10/2025 06:26

£500 on £30k was the biggest. If you have any ISA allowance I'd move it. Or pension. I use it as a top up when I can't put any more in ISAs each year.

Kuretake · 02/10/2025 06:29

In fact just checked and nothing for me this month although there's only 8k in my name, DH's lot may have win something. That 8k has made nothing for 6 months - my SNS ISA is up nearly 12% over the same period. Pension investments similar.

Kindling1970 · 02/10/2025 07:17

Won £100 this month!

MarmiteMaiden · 02/10/2025 09:07

Just checked this morning and I’ve won £1300 this month. 😊That’s by far the biggest win I’ve had, and I’ve had the max holdings in there for 2 years now. Over that time I’ve won just over £5k in total though. There’s only been one month I’ve won nothing. I like it - a wee exciting boost at the start of the month!

Mostunexpected · 02/10/2025 09:33

£250 as a single prize. But one month I got £450 in total from all holdings.

Got £175 this month which is ok, but DH got absolutely nothing (which is quite common for him - he's just unlucky) and we both have full holdings.

tiredangry · 29/09/2025 20:25

I don't think you should shift it, unless you want to be paying tax on your interest or earnings or whatever from it.

Put it in an ISA if you are not getting a reasonable return from PBs, still tax free income and much more predictable.

RedwallMattimeo · 02/10/2025 09:39

DBro mentioned casually at a family gathering a couple of years ago that he’d won £1000 twice. It was only the silence interspersed by spluttering that made him realise this was unusual! The first £1000 was just after he’d gone to Uni. I’d always thought he seemed to be able to have a much nicer standard of living than me. This finally explained it! I expect his holding is quite small - it certainly would have been 20 odd years ago when he went to Uni - so he has been particularly lucky.
Teen DD is friends with twins. An elderly relative gave the parents a small amount of money to buy PBs with. One of them won £1k when she was about 8. As far as I know, neither the girl or her sister know and the parents are still struggling with what to tell them & when as it seems unfair for one of them to have all of this and the other not. I think they are hoping that the other twin wins a similar amount before she turns 18!

BadgernTheGarden · 02/10/2025 09:40

A friend asked me where to put some 'spare' money and I suggested PBs, on his first draw he won £10,000. I was pleased and irritated, my maximum win was £1000 once over many years

CalzoneOnLegs · 02/10/2025 14:15

@BadgernTheGarden i hope he took you out for a splendid meal ? !

CalzoneOnLegs · 02/10/2025 14:17

£150 for me last night. Makes total for last eight months £1700. I’m waiting for a full 12 months to work out the interest rates.

KitsyWitsy · 02/10/2025 14:17

I won 1200 last month on FH. I bought a mulberry bag! This month I won just £150 but I win something most months.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 02/10/2025 16:21

£175 about a year ago.
£25 this month

I’ve built up from £0 to £24k over the last 5 years.

Parky04 · 02/10/2025 16:23

I've won £1000 twice. I've had maximum holdings for 10 years.

LuckyBluePhoton · 30/10/2025 10:04

Lulumush · 04/11/2025 20:46

Pants this month! So annoying.

MrsVinceVega · 04/11/2025 21:46
