I have started my estrogen today, here we go again!!!

you’ve got this!

Azahar8 · 04/05/2026 15:39

I had a scan today and transfer booked for the 12th. Had a bit of spotting this morning so need to monitor - always something to be worried about!

TTCbaby2xox · 04/05/2026 15:46

I’ve just this morning completed the second OTD test (2 days after the first), and as expect it’s a negative on the 2nd transfer (1st frozen). Absolutely gutted but think I mainly processed it days ago when I first tested - until the drugs wear off that is then I’m sure I’ll have another crash.
I want to get going again but this time try a natural cycle with FET. Has anyone done back to back transfers and in particular, going from medicated to natural? My new AI bestie says this shouldn’t be a problem until needing to do investigations etc which I don’t think I do. Had them all done. All “unexplained”.

I could understand having a break from meds if I was going into another medicated cycle but I’m thinking try non-medicated then if still unsuccessful I would try another medicated cycle - that would be the last embryo we have frozen but it is much lower quality grading.

Sad to be joining yet another months thread but that’s life - wishing all you ladies lots of luck and baby dust!!! 💖

MocktailMe · 04/05/2026 17:18

The issue I've found is more that actually they can't fit you in to have a transfer again two weeks after the negative test. You need a review, a nurse planning appointment and then to have the drugs delivered, it's just not possible that I've found, although all mine are highly medicated and would need the drugs ready for CD2. I don't think it would physically cause an issue, but logistically it seems to.

oh my love so sorry to hear.
yes i think like @MocktailMe said even though uour body may be physically ready- its getting the appointments and follow ups in time for you next cycle- if its nhs atleast thats my experience. super frustrating when your ready to go.

Azahar8 · 04/05/2026 19:15

@TTCbaby2xox I am really sorry you are going through this 💝I have done both natural and medicated and asked this question. My consultant said you don't need to wait between two natural cycles, but if you've done a medicated one you need to wait a month. In any case, I've never been able to do FETs in consecutive months for the admin reasons others have mentioned (even as a private patient).

@OneGladOtter Good luck for your scan tomorrow 🌷

TTCbaby2xox · 04/05/2026 20:42

Thank you for taking the time to reply. It’s a little frustrating but makes sense. I’m still waiting for my period to arrive so when I call them tomorrow I will ask what the options are. If my period doesn’t come for a while due to the higher levels of progesterone this time, hopefully it might buy a bit of time in terms of the appointments but I’ll try and keep some realistic expectations after reading these x

MocktailMe · 04/05/2026 21:46

My last transfer was 11th March. My period was really delayed from progesterone, and didn't begin until 1st April. I took cancellations and rang daily to get my appointments as early as possible, but it still was not ever going to be feasible. I would have needed the drugs on 1st April - OTD was 24th March, it's just physically not enough time.

My drugs were delivered on, I think, the 21st April (after my review and nurse planning appointment), then my period began 2nd May, bringing us to now.

Try to work on the assumption that you will be starting next cycle, and then actively push for early appointments. If I'd not done that I easily could have missed the boat for may.

I'm also a private patient.

thankyou @Azahar8 scan done, everything looking as it should just waiting for my smiley on opk and then hopefully they will have space to fit me in for transfer

Azahar8 · 06/05/2026 18:27

@OneGladOtter Wonderful, hope you don't have to wait too long now!

I'm starting my progesterone injections tomorrow.

MocktailMe · 06/05/2026 21:31

My scan is booked for the 15th, all being well I'm hopeful for a transfer on the 21st so I think I'll be a bit behind you all!.

good luck with your injections!

Azahar8 · 07/05/2026 20:54

Thank you, lovely. I'll be doing them every other day so it's not too bad. Will you have any progesterone support or you're going completely natural?

Azahar8 · 07/05/2026 20:56

@MocktailMe Will you be doing progesterone shots as well?

Yes, starting 5 days before transfer. I'll also be doing daily injections of clexane. Still on the ovamex jabs for now!

Agh, that's a lot of jabs 😖I feel for you.

OneGladOtter · 08/05/2026 11:41

No, mines all natural. In a slightly sadistic way i kind of miss the control of the shots- feel like although their not ideal you have a clear timeline where as i am in a wait and see what happens situ. Harder with work, i have next week off so ideally hoping dates align but who knows with IVF.

CMGC · 08/05/2026 17:15

What’s the clexane for? I was on that after egg retrieval so do I assume I’ll be on it again once my period comes and I begin my transfer cycle?

Clexane is a blood thinner. It's given after egg collection because of the increased risk of blood clots.

For transfer cycles it's normally used if you've had losses or implantation failures. After my first two failed cycles I had trombophilia screening (blood test) which showed I don't have genetic predisposition to blood clots, so my consultant said I don't need to take Clexane.

It's indeed very frustrating to wait for the positive opk and constantly reschedule everything. Fingers crossed it falls during your leave! Do you know how many days after positive opk your transfer is going to be? I've never done fully natural, so interested how it works. I had natural modified with a trigger shot and progesterone pessaries and my protocol was to start the pessaries the morning after the trigger, which seemed early to me, because ovulation is around 36 hours after the trigger. My clinic said it didn't matter but it didn't feel right to me.

CMGC · 08/05/2026 21:18

Also can I ask I assume alcohol is a no no once transfer meds start? I must say I’ve enjoyed the few drinks since my embryos have gone off for testing and I’m just waiting around.

yeh ofcourse, so after the first positive OPK i need to ring to let them no and then transfer would be booked 6 days after. This is my first FET so i was honestly surprised that there was no progesterone involved myself. I had a failed fresh transfer feb, then in March concieved naturally but it didnt stick- the consultant said that due to seeing that positive my body is doing everything it needs so no addition needed. I was a bit sceptical as thats the first time id ever seen a positive on a test but he said to let nature take course…. cue me in my head thinking nature has not been my friend give me all the drugs 🤣

Maybe they'll do a blood test to check when your progesterone starts rising because they can't really know when exactly you've ovulated. I'm sure you're not their first patient, so they know what they are doing!

MocktailMe · 09/05/2026 06:53

Yes clexane is due to my multiple losses, my consultant is really hopeful this and the aspirin might prevent early loss specifically. I'm hopeful but also feel it will take a lot of luck to even conceive again in the first place.

Last night was my final ovamex, now just sticking with the estrogen tablets until my scan on Friday and hoping I get the go ahead at that!
