We’ve bought a few small things like clothes, muslins etc. its the big things like travel system and nursery furniture we won’t be buying for another couple of months yet, I’m hoping to get the travel system from the Black Friday deals and the nursery future at the Christmas/ Jan sale. Pushing it as I’m due Feb but baby don’t need to be in the nursery room until it’s a bit older so we still have until the summer to get that sorted

I have the Momcosy G shaped pillow and the BabyBub anti roll pillow but for now I prefer the Momcosy, I’ll probably move to the babybub once I’m bigger and need more bump support. The Momcosy one is great just now for the hip pain, my hip pain has been horrendous but I’m already super flexible and my midwife thinks the extra relaxin in my body is making me extra bendy and causing over stretching of my muscles and joints. I’ll take the pain though for a happy healthy baby in the end 🤞🏻

Orangewillow · 11/10/2025 09:40

I've been having quite a bit of hip pain too (I am not very flexible though!) and finding I'm really stiff in the back when I wake up. Plus shoulder pain. It's really annoying and so far the pillow not helping much but maybe I need to find the right positioning

magpie234 · 11/10/2025 09:41

@confused2025@lemonwrighty I am thinking the same with making the most of the sales (the Jan ones for us as will be after our anomoly scan but Black Friday should be great). I also read that a lot of OHs hate the momcozy but tough 💩😂

KayEmmSquared · 11/10/2025 09:45

@Orangewillow I've been tucking the pillow under my back as much as I can (feels weird at first but trust me!) and that seems to help with the hip and back pain because it gives you some back support instead of feeling forced to keep yourself on your side all night, plus stops you rolling onto you back. I also use a back/bump support band during the day for back pain and it has really helped!

magpie234 · 11/10/2025 10:02

@KayEmmSquared Do you use yours as a pillow for your head too? I am very fussy with pillows and want to keep my usual one up top. So not sure this would work with that preg pillow?

confused2025 · 11/10/2025 12:39

@lemonwrightyhave you decided on travel system? I’m so confused by reading lots of reviews so I’m thinking I might just do the stokke yo-yo as it’s half the price and seems practical

KayEmmSquared · 11/10/2025 14:00

@magpie234 depending on what kind of mood I’m in I’ll sometimes sleep with just the preg pillow or sometimes with my own pillow on top of it,I just move away the others I have and it fits perfectly. I got the cold touch preg pillow because I am always roasting hot and it’s a game changer, no need to have all the windows open and sleep with only a sheet 😂

lemonwrighty · 11/10/2025 14:52

@confused2025 we’ve narrowed it down to the Silvercross Cove or the Nuna Mixx Next. We’ve booked an appointment with John Lewis next month to try out both and to compared. It’s so overwhelming with all the different types of travel systems there are out there.

confused2025 · 12/10/2025 08:37

@lemonwrightyoh I was looking at the Cove too (it’s very pretty) and I haven’t really seen the Nuna here so let me know how you get on x

Orangewillow · 12/10/2025 08:52

@lemonwrighty I didn't know John lewis did baby stuff appointments, but that sounds so helpful and have booked an appointment! Thr London stores were so booked out, one had no weekend appointments until the week before my due date, might be cutting it a bit fine haha. Have booked early Jan, hoping that sorts us out with a pram and car seat, those are the 2 I find most confusing/overwhelmed by choice

Timetotryagain · 12/10/2025 09:18

We will hopefully reuse the pram we already have as the toddler wont be using it anymore! But i am thinking we may need a double stroller for longer days out etc so might have to pop along to john lewis to see what they have. I miss mothercare! All the start of our ttc journey i used to go to mothercare occasionally (dont know if thats sad or not haha) and just look at the clothes cots and prams hoping i would get to come in here and buy one myself one day. And then they bloody shut down haha (and it took bloody years to ttc anyway 🤣)

lemonwrighty · 12/10/2025 11:30

@Orangewillow yes I found with JL it was booked about 3 months in advanced for weekend appointments so I’m taking a day off work to match DH day off during the week to do a day of baby things. I agree the pram and car seat is what I’m finding overwhelming, there’s so many different options it’s all a bit much.

Mama and Papas also do a baby buying free appointment so you can look and test the prams, car seats etc so maybe try there as well.

@confused2025 the Cove is very pretty, it’s abit heavier compared to the Nuna though but I love both, that’s really what my JL appointment is for, to compare the weight of both. DH loved the Nuna as soon as he saw it, said it seems really easy and practical.

confused2025 · 12/10/2025 13:00

@lemonwrightythats what I was thinking about the cove too so it was making me think about the Stokke. I’ll check the Nuna out too x

confused2025 · 12/10/2025 14:23

@lemonwrighty since I posted this morning I keep getting adds for Silvercross - they’re launching a new travel system called the Nia
that is coming out soon. Looks more compact than the Cove x

lemonwrighty · 13/10/2025 10:23

@confused2025 I had a look and it’s definitely more compact, the only issue is there’s no release date and there’s only a registration link to express your interest, it does look lovely though.

confused2025 · 13/10/2025 11:33

@lemonwrightyI imagine it will be out by late November. Who knew prams could be so difficult to make a decision on lol

lemons44 · 13/10/2025 12:09

@Orangewillow@confused2025i know you said you didn’t feel any movements until 18-19 and 21 weeks. Do you know what placentas you have? I have a posterior placenta so hoping I feel something soon as from what i have read loads of people with posterior placenta feel things at 16 weeks and I am 17 and haven’t felt anything yet

lemonwrighty · 13/10/2025 13:38

@confused2025 I know!! When I went to Mamas and Papas the other week I told the assistant my two options and she tried to add another option. I don’t need to be anymore indecisive than I already was without her adding another option 🤣

confused2025 · 13/10/2025 13:39

@lemons44 I don’t think I have the anterior one. It can be up to 24 weeks and actually on week 22 it kind of still feels like my stomach is making weird noises. I don’t think you should panic x

lemons44 · 13/10/2025 14:06

Thanks @confused2025 where is the movement actually felt? Does it feel like stomach or below belly button? x

confused2025 · 13/10/2025 14:12

@lemons44 different locations but I think I have a mover as always very active on scan days x

Orangewillow · 13/10/2025 14:47

My placenta is high posterior, at my 16 week scan it was left lateral (not sure what that means!) I started to feel movement around 19 weeks or just before I think, it's been sporadic though and some days have felt hardly anything which has worried me but sounds totally normal. Often it feels a bit loke a goldfish swimming in my tummy, but I have felt a couple of more like proper kicks. Very variable!

lemons44 · 13/10/2025 15:00

@confused2025@Orangewillow thanks both for answering all my questions!

Timetotryagain · 13/10/2025 18:20

@lemons44 mines anterior this time and the movement is definitley more subtle so may be not noticable yet
