Hiya. I’m due to start IVF in March and just wanted to find some people who were going through the same so we can support/ advise eachother! I’m 32 and have been trying to get pregnant for 8 years now and just wanted to meet some people in the same boat!

Hi @SlinkMcSlink ! Hope you are feeling ok! Sorry to hear about your failed transfers but fingers crossed this one goes better for you!
I will also eventually be having a frozen transfer if I end up with any normal euploid embryos after my 3 cycle egg collections. So let me know how it goes, I know nothing about the process for frozen transfers, are there still injections etc to do? Best of luck 🤞🏼

SlinkMcSlink · 08/03/2025 16:26

@LimeBird I think everyone is slightly different. I take Elleste solo (oestrogen) tablets 3 times a day until my baseline line scan. I’m currently on day 2 of my cycle. Baseline scan is around day 10-12 then on my protocol I start to take lubion injections every morning and also cyclogest pessaries morning and night. Then around 6 days after the base line scan they do the transfer. First transfer I wasn’t sure what to feel. Second one was a bit upsetting as they defrosted one embryo but it didn’t thaw properly so had to take another embryo out which again resulted in a negative transfer.

This is the last embryo of this cycle but I’m entitled to another round on the nhs if this doesn’t work. Trying to remain positive and give myself treats along the way. Go on the nice holidays, buy the nice clothes etc etc. Keep in that positive headspace. I have been seeing a fertility counsellor and that’s been useful if anybody is thinking about talking to someone.

ivfjourneyandme · 08/03/2025 18:05

Day 24 of buserlin today and day 4 of stims. Really struggling with this round. Last one I sailed through it, until the traumatic ending. Urgh.

captainsmal · 08/03/2025 20:14

@KayEmmSquared that sucks I’m so sorry
@LimeBird really hope your two catch up and are okay 🤞🏻
@SlinkMcSlink that’s interesting to hear about the different types of fet, there must be so many different processes they can do. Is this different from your last two protocols? 🤞🏻 third time lucky for you
@ivfjourneyandme sorry to hear you’re struggling. It really sucks doesn’t it this whole process etc. Wishing you all the best that this round is the one for you 🤞🏻

day 9 of stims for me and only just over a day until my monitoring scan so getting a bit nervous now to see how many follicles I have etc. And then a bit nervous about how my eggs will be after collection- I think because we are diagnosed with “unexplained” infertility (with tiny bit of male factor but dr said not enough that we wouldn’t have caught in the last 10 years) it makes me worry what if they do EC and my eggs are terrible quality? As that’s really the only thing they haven’t checked since obviously they won’t see my eggs til after the collection etc. I just hope they’re big enough Monday tbh as can’t imagine stimming for much longer. I’ve gained a full half a stone this last week or two and now have an actual “bump” which is just ironic tbh 🙃

SlinkMcSlink · 08/03/2025 20:52

@captainsmal Hope all goes well at your baseline scan.

I am also unexplained. It’s the same protocol as the last two times. After the first fail, the consultant suggested that we may want to try a natural cycle without medication but if ovulation fell on a weekend they aren’t open as an nhs facility on a Saturday or Sunday. So I couldn’t bear going through a natural cycle and it possibly being cancelled just because of ovulation falling on a weekend. I know that sounds silly as it’s only another month but natural is also more monitoring and it’s hard enough to arrange appointments around work as it is.

LimeBird · 08/03/2025 20:53

@SlinkMcSlink that sounds like a good plan, stay positive and treat yourself. I might buy myself a top I’ve had my eye on actually!

@ivfjourneyandme I’m not surprised you’ve had enough after 24 days of buserelin! And that one stings so much doesn’t it 😣 really hope you can finish stims soon!

@captainsmal i can understand that worry, all you can do is look after yourself and remember you are doing all you can at this stage, hopefully the scan will be good on Monday 🤞🏼 i know what you mean about the bloating, I couldn’t handle waistbands at the end of stims so was wearing a pinafore to work with my bloated stomach! I saw a few colleagues looking at my belly and thought this is ridiculous, they think I’m hiding something but I have the exact opposite problem!

captainsmal · 08/03/2025 20:59

@SlinkMcSlink tbh I don’t know when I ovulate, I’ve never bothered with the strips or anything. They said I am because of scans/blood tests etc but I have long cycles (32-34 days) so I don’t know if I ovulate on time and have a long luteal phase or if I ovulate later 🤷🏼‍♀️ I think I’d struggle with a natural cycle too tbh. Totally get what you mean a month feels like ages when you’re in this process.

@LimeBird oh yes I’ve swapped to leggings and baggy work tshirt this week lol! When I’m at home basically have a hot water bottle attached to me 😅 it’s the only thing that seems to be helping! Did buy some fybogel today though so might try that tomorrow or save it for after EC when I heard it gets worse 😬

Miraclemuma03 · 09/03/2025 06:29

Hi guys I would love to join if I could. We are hoping to start a new cycle at the end of the month so il probably have to merge to the April group but iv read everyone's comments and I'm sorry to those ladies who's embryos didn't make it. I just want to wish everyone else a good egg retrieval and a perfect embryo transfer. I'm due for my cycle to start on the 27th but I'd love to just follow along this month.

SlinkMcSlink · 09/03/2025 11:02

Welcome @Miraclemuma03 xx

Twofromanotherkind · 09/03/2025 11:55

Hi @Miraclemuma03 I'm hopefully starting end of march too period due in 25th march

RainbowFluff · 09/03/2025 15:53

@captainsmal I definitely have a bump with stims, I usually can’t wear anything other than loose dresses from about day 3 onwards. I’m now 11 days post EC and still can’t fit into any trousers 🤣 it’s a long game. Thank god it was unusually warm this week so people didn’t think I was strange wearing floaty summer dresses to work.

I'm on day 3 of gonal F injections and I haven't had any symptoms/ bloating at all. Sounds stupid but it's worrying me that it means it's not working!

@RainbowFluff I haven’t even bothered to change out of my pjs today 😂 I’ve caved in now and taken a fybogel as well because this bloating is unreal 😣
really hope my follicles are big enough tomorrow because I don’t want to do another 3 days of this haha

captainsmal · 09/03/2025 16:03

@Banksl92 dont worry, I think my bloating and everything started properly around day 4-5. Before that I just had some mild AF type cramps and was tired a lot. But everyone is different!

That's good to know. Maybe I will just be lucky and have mild symptoms but my brain keeps jumping to the worst!

@Banksl92 its day 10 today for me so I’ve done 16 so far! 10 Gonal F and 6 Ganirelix. The only side effect I got when I started that one in the mornings was like crazy amounts of EWCM lol. Like so much I feel I should be wearing a pad or something 😬
thank you, I’ll let you guys know what happens tomorrow!

LimeBird · 09/03/2025 19:52

Hi @Miraclemuma03 ! Hope you are preparing ok for your cycle! Is this your first cycle?

good luck for tomorrow @captainsmal ! 🙏 Hope it goes well!

I find out tomorrow if any of my embryos have made it to day 5 - feeling quite anxious 😬

Timetotryagain · 09/03/2025 20:15

@miraclemuma03 welcome! We will be starting the week after next i think (i havent kept track of ovulation so dont know exactly when period is due as its a few days out each time etc)

@limebird best of luck for tomorrow. Do they call you at a certain time?

LimeBird · 09/03/2025 20:57

@Timetotryagain yes they said it will be before lunch time, luckily I’m working from home tomorrow so can take the call in private easily! X

Timetotryagain · 09/03/2025 21:16

@limebird thats good 💜💜

I am getting stressed now about time off work, i havent told them about the ivf but maybe thinking i shiuld now as will have to be off for the egg retrieval.

Has everyone else told work?

RainbowFluff · 09/03/2025 21:20

@Timetotryagain depends slightly on your protocol, my clinic scans every other day from CD5 so I usually end up having 3 mornings off for that. Egg collection depends, when I had fewer eggs I went back two days after but with the ones where I had more eggs I needed the rest of the week off. My workplace have been very supportive as other colleagues have had IVF, they don’t have an official policy but some companies do.
