That last thread filled up quickly without us noticing. So here is a new one for Scotland.

@strtng thank you!! Hopefully your next round will be the one 💪 you should get a consultation after that cycle included as well where they can discuss everything with you and you can quiz them about any different protocols they might suggest. They might do the same again or not! Also I was told after a year of trying that 50% of couples not conceived naturally within a year will conceive within 2 yrs so you still do have a chance of naturally conceiving in meantime while waiting for next treatment (and crazily that statistic is higher than the chance of conceiving each transfer via ivf!). It didn’t happen for us but you might be more lucky! xx

@IVFlife my clinic had crazy long waiting period of 14 days too, it’s the worst! Sorry you are worrying about the tests. I also got faint lines at 7dp5dt so I really wouldn’t worry about progression. I found what helped me was not allowing myself to do another test for x number of days and pretending I wasn’t pregnant/didn’t know 🤣. I think giving at least a few days between tests gives yourself chance to not become obsessed about doing so many (or for me it did!). Also get your partner to hide/take away any remaining tests you have so they don’t tempt you! Your levels tend to be super low anyway this early on. I did do a medichecks home blood test (it’s a finger prick) which gave me reassurance that my levels were ok but didn’t let myself do it until a certain number of days (plus it’s not actually the one off number you are looking for the increase so don’t do this if you think will make you more stressed). I can totally empathise with this stage as I was exactly the same xxx

Thanks all for being so supportive with my freak out. I'm trying to just enjoy being on holiday just now but swing wildly between being very hopeful and googling negative stories. I work in mental health myself and am so so aware of how bad an idea this this!!!!! We are in a beautiful place so am trying to enjoy!

OTD is Sun but I think we will test on Sat so as its further away from when would be going back to work so a bit of time to process.

@IVFlife I think you'd be absolutely fine to test Saturday. I've always had OTD 10 days post transfer with FETs, so I'd say testing anytime after this point is going to give you a clear answer. Hope you can enjoy your holiday x

Cesas · 01/08/2024 09:53

Congratulations all who have positives lately! Great news!

I'm currently 8dp5dt and have yet to test, holding out til Saturday morning so can deal with the result whatever it is! The struggle is so real though!

My clinic test date I will be 15dp5dt I don't understand why it's so late? If I am pregnant I'd be 5 weeks the next day. I'm having a lot of symptoms with the progesterone pesseries (emotional, nausea, cramping) and just feel this is such a long time to take them if I am bot pregnant.

2mumlife · 01/08/2024 10:08

@Cesas 15dp5dt seems a very long time to be told to wait to test. I can understand it in one way - whatever the result is it would be very final, and would probably mean any CP wasn't detected. I think though if you wanted to, you'd be fine to test 10dp5dt - I'd be very surprised to get a BFP after that point x

Thank you, this is exactly what I thought. I think my issue with waiting that long is mainly due to the progesterone pesseries honestly I'm an emotional nightmare right now! 🤣 x

ivf24 · 01/08/2024 11:54

@Cesas my clinic was 15dp5dt also for unsuccessful. I felt the exact same about doing the pessaries. They are such a pest! My clinic didn’t accept the result until 15 days so I managed to never test early although it was very tempting! I had more pregnancy like symptoms in the first transfer which was unsuccessful than in the third one which was successful. Bodies are strange!

Congratulations @IVFlife!! Keeping everything crossed that you get a good BFP on your OTD.

Welcome @strtng . This thread is so supportive and informative so glad you have found it. My protocol changed between 1st and 2nd transfer but I think that’s just because the first was a fresh transfer and second was frozen. There was no change between 2nd and 3rd. If the 3rd round wasn’t successful, my clinic said, based on research, they were looking to move people with ‘unexplained infertility’ to a non medicated cycle which made me feel uneasy so glad we haven’t had to cross that bridge yet!

2mumlife · 01/08/2024 12:00

@Cesas I also found the pessaries one of the worst parts. Even if its negative at 10dpt though, I'd stick with your clinics plan and keep going until 15dpt just on super precaution just in case. Wishing you all the best for test day!

@Cesas I agree with @2mumlife. I think that is partly why I didn’t test early as I knew should still do all the meds until OTD.

Cesas · 01/08/2024 12:11

Thank you, fingers crossed! Yes I will definitely keep doing the meds until they say to stop. That must have been challenging to wait the 15 days to test! Not sure how you managed it! I'm too busy over analysing every symptoms! I think I'm just at the stage where I want to know either way, just so I can deal with the outcome! X

2mumlife · 01/08/2024 12:17

@Cesas I always found when testing at 10dpt I was ok for the first 5 days and then struggled for the last 5. Can't imagine having to wait for 15 days

IVFlife · 01/08/2024 13:39

@Cesas wow I thought mine was long at 13 days! That's why I tested on 5dp5dt if I had a neg my plan wouldn't have been to test until OTD so as I wouldn't know was def out until then as day 5 is that inbetween stage where may or may not show. Hope you are managing to keep distracted.

We are back from hol. As soon as I got in there I did a test. The non early clear blue one that does a plus sign. And it's come up a very clear plus sign. I seem to have stronger tests in the afternoon?! But equally I did them in different ways so who knows. Either way Im so happy with that. I can see how easily it becomes addictive though, to keep testing until you get that "fix".

IVFlife · 01/08/2024 13:44

I think I might be one of the only people who doesn't really mind the pessaries! I'm on them 3x a day and I just wake up a bit earlier and lay in bed for an hour, I do it before I fall asleep at night. And in the afternoon I get to go and have a wee nap...I am off work at the moment though so that won't last.

I dont like the mess in underwear but I don't have any crazy symptoms from them. Not sure if it's cos I take progesterone tablets every month anyway as part of my illness (reason why I needed ivf) so could be my body was already used to it.

So funny how everyone reacts so differently to stuff isn't it!

How is everyone doing? 💕

Autumn245 · 16/08/2024 18:45

Hi everyone 👋 hope you are all well. I recognise a few names from the last time I did ivf in 2022. I'm back again to try for a sibling. We have a few frosties saved from last time but still at early stages, waiting for consultation and scan next month before we can begin the process.
