Hi 👋

A thread for anyone who wants to discuss their Create Fertility experiences.

I'm 38, have had 3 egg collections with Create (2x natural modified and 1 x mild) and am about to go through my first FET following embryo banking and after having a Hysteroscopy and discovering I have thyroid antibodies...joys of fertility challenges.

Tagging as follows from previous chat, please tag any others I may have forgot.

New joiners to the thread welcome to share your experiences - it's a never ending learning curve for all!

@Sunflower360 yeah it’s included in the cost

jolly86 · 19/03/2024 12:31

@Doxy21 progesterone doesn't hold off the period-- I started spotting the day before my otd, and so did you last time remember? It may hold off for some people but not usually this late.

Doxy21 · 19/03/2024 13:15

@jolly86 i literally don’t remember 😂 all the pessaries have blurred into one. So fingers crossed this is a good sign then!

Sunflower360 · 19/03/2024 13:22

@Doxy21 you're much more patient than me I'd be using the FRERs everyday if I got that result 😂

jolly86 · 19/03/2024 13:25

@Doxy21 i m pretty sure we both started spotting the day before otd (we were 1 day apart in our transfers). :)

jolly86 · 19/03/2024 13:25

@Sunflower360 I agree with you :)))

Doxy21 · 19/03/2024 13:30

@jolly86 yes I remember we had similar experiences- good memory

@Sunflower360 no tests, instead I will google all manner of unhelpful things and scrutinise all of my non symptoms and toilet paper every time I pee.

Sunflower360 · 19/03/2024 13:50

@Doxy21 are you experiencing any symptoms?

OP posts:
Doxy21 · 19/03/2024 13:54

@Sunflower360 nope. The odd cramp but would I even notice if I wasn’t looking for it? Prob not. I have indigestion but I get that all the time anyway. I was really thirsty and peeing lots since transfer but that’s stopped and I imagine was due to progesterone? I am worried that it has stopped. Last night I only got up to pee once whereas before it was 3 or 4 times.

Maddie23 · 19/03/2024 16:12

Transfer all done. I really struggled with the discomfort though...if I have to have another one, I'll defo ask for sedation. Such a wuss haha.

I got really emotional during it but here's to being PUPO!

Sunflower360 · 19/03/2024 16:15

@Maddie23 good luck! It is slightly uncomfortable, I managed but was glad when it was done tbh. What grade embryo have you put in?

Maddie23 · 19/03/2024 16:17

Thank you @Sunflower360
So initially it was meant to be our day 3 but it didn't make blastocyst by this morning so they picked my 4AA embryo instead.
Will wait til tomorrow to see if the day 3 gets to blastocyst and refreeze it.

Doxy21 · 19/03/2024 16:17

Good luck @Maddie23! 🤞🏽

Maddie23 · 19/03/2024 16:20

Thank you @Doxy21!

Plantymcplant · 20/03/2024 09:48

@Maddie23 I also had our transfer yesterday. I found it a lot more uncomfortable than my first I think it can also depend on the doctor

VenusStarr · 20/03/2024 10:34

Lots of love for your TWW @Plantymcplant @Maddie23 ❤️

Hope you're feeling OK @Doxy21 it's a complete head🤬 but I hope it all works out well for you, keeping my fingers crossed 🙏

How are you @Sunflower360 have you had your review today?

I've just had my Dr review, I feel a bit calmer today now I've run through the protocol. I'm doing menopur next time on 225 dose as will estrogen priming again. I e explained I'm not in a good headspace and he's supportive of delaying. Still aiming for a day 3 trabsfer, although he is still hopeful we'll have some to push to day 5. Hoping I cab just switch off from it all for a while.

Love to all xx

VenusStarr · 20/03/2024 10:37

Oh, I forgot, we're doing PICSI as well. Its expensive but it's one of those I think I'll wonder what if, if we never tried.

Doxy21 · 20/03/2024 10:53

That sounds positive @VenusStarr before we went for this transfer we made sure we had some time away and did things we haven’t been able to do like a spa weekend and I felt like it helped me with the stress. Have you tried acupuncture?

Sunflower360 · 20/03/2024 11:15

@VenusStarr that all sounds positive, fingers crossed. Had my follow up and I'm going straight into another natural modified FET (as long as my TSH is normal), with a 5BA embryo this time from my first collection with Create when I was 37. Dr suggested testing the embryos but understands our concerns about the refreezing process and agreed it should have been done when they were fresh (I was only prognosed to get 2-3 embryos so testing was never considered initially).

I asked about double but cash consider that if this transfer fails. I was advised about the risks... one of which bring if one miscarried the other would be at risk too.... has anyone else been told this?

Good luck @Plantymcplant! Fingers crossed for you.

Thank you @VenusStarr

VenusStarr · 20/03/2024 12:09

@Sunflower360 I think we have the same Dr? He says the same to me about a double transfer, if I miscarry (and given my history) it could mean I lose both.
I'm glad you won't be delayed. Did you say you'd started spotting? Hopefully you won't be waiting too long for af.

Thank you @Doxy21 I do acupuncture in treatment cycles. I had a different acupuncturist a few years ago and really like her and found it very relaxing but she's not been available these past few months. She used to have a mini counselling session with me and would check my tongue and pulse and a general health check. The lady I see now is nice enough but I always feel rushed and she just does the fertility points, so feels less bespoke. It's so expensive as well.
As we're delaying, I might reach out to my old one, she was on adoption leave when I started at the end of December.

Sunflower360 · 20/03/2024 12:15

@VenusStarr yes I think we do have the same Dr! It is an interesting thought about the double and miscarrying, not sure what to do in that instance. He was keen for us to test the embryos but I don't want to lose a 'good' one through the freeze/thaw/test/freeze/thaw process which he agreed could happen. So it's trial and error now. Hopefully AF is not far off, took my last pessary last night so hopefully will start before the end of the week

I've opted for natural FET again. Just out of curiosity what does medicated FET involve? Is it always shutting down the ovaries? Dr was happy for me to do medicated again as it appeared to all look OK, he suggested I could take baby Aspirin this time... anyone else done that?

OP posts:
Doxy21 · 20/03/2024 13:02

@VenusStarr yeah it’s worth trying to reach out to your previous acupuncturist.

good luck @Plantymcplant! 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

Maddie23 · 20/03/2024 13:30

@Sunflower360 mine was medicated and I started Estrogen on day 2 of full flow and then started progesterone the day after my day 8 scan.
