@tillyxxx how did you get on,did you get a further update?

This is another interesting article...

@Sunflower360 hey I had my fresh transfer on Wednesday and I have another embryo frozen. They said they would keep an eye on the remaining embryos on day 6 but they unfortunately arrested (which would have been the fast growing embryos). I'm not planning on doing a pregnancy test and will wait till my blood test next week

Sunflower360 · 29/03/2024 21:39

@tillyxxx that's good, did you get a grade?

tillyxxx · 29/03/2024 21:41

@Sunflower360 the one transferred is a 4BB

Hi girl. Hope you all doing well. After failed December IVF round I decide to give myself a break but we still had some balance left with create and we decide to spend it on IUI. I had IUI 11 days ago and 12 days after the trigger. Went there absolutely without any expectations. I stoped using all the vitamins from December stoped tracking ovulation and my period as well. Now after IUI and trigger I started tested my trigger shot out and it was kind of negative on day 8-9 lines never vent away to be honest and from day 10 lines become more visible. Today day 12 and it’s the bottom test. What do you think? Could it still be the trigger? I have my betas on Tuesday but I know I’m just driving myself crazy

Sunflower360 · 30/03/2024 10:12

@Ks2023 it could well be possible! I tested iut my trigger I think 2dp5dpt and it was gone...think that was 7 days DPO so hopefully that's a good sign for you

Guys!! Just out of curiosity, does create charge separately for private prescriptions during ivf treatment ?

Sunflower360 · 31/03/2024 23:10

@Hollyw128 in the fine print it says they do but I wasn't charged for it

OP posts:
Hollyw128 · 01/04/2024 06:32

Do you know how much they charge per prescription ? @Sunflower360

Sunflower360 · 01/04/2024 08:01

@Hollyw128 I think it read £50? Have you been charged?

OP posts:
Hollyw128 · 01/04/2024 09:17

No I have not. But just worried incase they do it later.

Maddie23 · 01/04/2024 10:42

OTD today and it's negative 😪
I felt so numb seeing the negative test as I was so sure it would be positive. Just goes to show, lots of symptoms doesn't necessarily mean anything!

Sunflower360 · 01/04/2024 12:36

@Hollyw128 if they haven't charged they would likely not to do it now, think they tend to take payment before processing anything. Or so I have found in my experience

@Maddie23 sorry to hear that, how many dpt are you? Do you have frosties?

OP posts:
Plantymcplant · 01/04/2024 13:13

@Maddie23 I'm so sorry.

Maddie23 · 01/04/2024 14:17

Thank you @Sunflower360 and @Plantymcplant
Its 13dp5dt for me.
I've got 4 frosties, this one was the best grading though. Here's to hoping!

JunieS · 01/04/2024 20:53

Hi @Sunflower360 and all the lovely ladies here!

It took me so long to realise that this thread was somewhere in there, couldn't find it (not that I had a lot of time to spare in here lately...), but I will try to catch up with what's happening. Thanks so much for @ me Sunflower! :)

I have been having cold feet and anxiety since they told us how small the chances were. We have our first ever Treatment nurse appointment tomorrow and I'm feeling numb and scared and like I don't even know what's happening(also reading past posts I realise I so not understand most of the acronyms! 😵:D)

It doesn't help that on paper it said my transfers would have to be fresh but my coordinator realised it must be a mistake (except for the 3rd cycle having the chance), so now I'm thinking what else it's not there. Sigh.

Anyway, my dears, if you have any suggestions of things I should ask or clarify, or things you know you should have asked in hindsight, it would be super welcome! I've been all day hopeless, fending off panic attacks and trying to think about it with less fear, but I don't know... hopefully I will overcome this after tomorrow has actually happened.

Big hugs to everyone!

@JunieS Hi, are you pending your follow up now? Do you have some ideas of what you'd like to do?

@JunieS Hi, are you pending your follow up now? Do you have some ideas of what you'd like to do?

Sunflower! Thanks for asking.

I'm meant to start on my next cycle (like 10 days away) and I'm rethinking all this, especially because I'm down for 3 cycles, and although I can take a break etc, I don't know, it seems so much all of a sudden!

So I'm going for the nat modified, and since the consultation nurse said I would be told what's next at every step, I seem to be less overwhelmed. However this thread is saving my soul, so much comfort and information.

I don't want to bother too much with questions, since you have all been here for a while and I'm finding so much information from reading every post, but if any of you would like to help with some spiralling thoughts I'm having, I'd be super grateful!

For example, work - how did you manage to balance work and treatment? I'm a teacher in a understaffed and stressful academy at the moment , so stupidly I'm starting to be more anxious about asking for time off to do scans etc than the actual treatment! Initially they were ok with that, but I'm not sure they realised how many hours I'll need...

Embryos - First two cycles will be frosties like you say (love the term! :)) and due to age and DH, genetic tested and ICSI are recommended. I'm a bit worried that so much testing is going to ruin the minimal chances I already seem to have.

Also, day 3, day 5...? Any insight would be so so much appreciated, I feel like the child lost in the supermarket at the moment xD

Hope you're all doing well and lots of energy and good vibes everyone.
J

@JunieS, no problem. Ask away with questions!

Firstly work....legally they have to treat the appts like any other medical appts-anything less would be discrimination. So if they allow others to attend appts paid for an hour, etc, the same would apply to you. Sticking point may be egg collections, as that is a whole day, and most employers would state either authorised unpaid or annual leave, whichever works best for you. I took annual leave. Sounds like they already know about your IVF? If so, I would speak to them openly about it. If they don't know, then you could just say you're undergoing medical treatment.

Secondly, testing of embryos. I didn't test ours as we didn't expect to get the number we did that were frozen. We've decided the freeze/thaw/test/freeze/thaw/transfer is so many hurdles for an embryo to go through that it could lead to unintentional damage to an otherwise good embryo so have decided against it-its very much trial and error through transferring now. In hindsight, I would have tested whilst fresh, I think, but if we did another single EC, we'd likely only get a low number, in which case would just transfer. Testing tends to be worth doing if you have 4 or more embryos.

Thirdly, the development of embryos. I would suggest letting them get to day 5, may as well see if it is viable before transferring as the drop-off rate from day 3 to 5 can vary

Is anyone doing IUI there . Mine is due soon :) how much they charge for the drugs for the ovulation approx?

tillyxxx · 03/04/2024 17:12

I got to 6dp5dt yesterday and started bleeding which certainly feels very much like a period not an implantation bleed.
I didn't think your period would start so soon also considering I'm taking progesterone 3 times a day. Has anyone else started their period before even getting to OTD?

HopefulElle · 03/04/2024 17:44

Hi ladies, it’s been a while so I’ve just been catching up on everything. Sorry to hear your updates and I hope you’re doing OK @Doxy21 @VenusStarr @Sunflower360 &@Maddie23? Doxy I imagine particularly tough for you with it being the last embryo, and such a rollercoaster, I’m so sorry and sending you lots of love.
@Plantymcplant & @muddlingthrou, congratulations!! @Plantymcplant i hope you stay sane waiting for your scan and @muddlingthrou amazing that you saw a heartbeat at yours ❤️
I wasn’t in the best headspace after cycle 2, then had a disastrous 3rd egg collection, no eggs. So 3 cycles and only one day 3 embryo to show for them. Prepping for transfer also took quite a while so to be honest I’d written it off and just wanted to get it done. Finally made it to transfer on 21st March, tested positive on Monday this week but had also had some spotting, so assumed it was chemical. Blood test today, they said they want to see over 50 minimum, over 100 ideally. It was 404! I’m officially pregnant. And in shock. Obviously very very early days so can’t let myself get too excited yet, but best possible news for now. Definitely good that you didn’t discard your day 3 @VenusStarr!
Hope nobody minds me sharing news after long absence xx

muddlingthrou · 03/04/2024 18:12

@HopefulElle - that is such great news, thrilled for you! That HCG level sounds spectacular, so I hope your little bean continues to flourish. Have you got an early scan booked yet?

Sunflower360 · 03/04/2024 18:32

@HopefulElle congratulations that is great news, especially as you've had such a journey with the egg collections! Shows it does only take 1 egg after all. Good luck for the scan, sounds like the blood levels are great.

@tillyxxx it is unusual to bleed with pessaries, but not impossible. Did they test your Progesterone levels when transferring?

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 03/04/2024 18:33

@HopefulElle you mentioned prepping for transfer was tough, what happened if you don't mind me asking? Any advice/tips appreciated!
