Hi all 👋

I have a failed first transfer (fresh) and have one embryo banked from my first retrieval.

I’ll be doing my first FET with it in March. Anyone else joining me for the wait?

I’m still waiting to find out what went wrong with my fresh transfer. Hopefully next time is the charm!

@DoctorBambino I tested at 7dp5dt last time and had a strong positive. That's tomorrow for me 🫣 - DH wants to wait another day or two, I am torn between wanting desperately to know and thinking that living in ignorance means I can put off any bad news... not sure which way I'll go!

DoctorBambino · 07/03/2024 14:35

Oooo that's a tough decision @Shroedy it is so hard isn't it. Good luck for whenever you do decide do to do!

I think I will definitely cave by 7days haha I would do it now if there would be any chance. But I'm also dreading yet another blank test, they're soooo depressing!

I'm actually really stressing out about how active I've had to be this time around. With my successful transfer I had the time to relax and lie down. This time I've been up and busy all the time and lifting my rather heavy toddler fat too much!

Shroedy · 07/03/2024 15:37

I know what you mean @DoctorBambino - I've been running after / lugging about my toddler as well. Good for the distraction but I agree does feel very different! Having said that, I did quite a lot of (gentle) walking in the few days after my successful transfer and I think getting the blood circulating might well be a good thing. Then again it seems like it's mainly totally out of our control...

DoctorBambino · 07/03/2024 15:41

Yeah I keep trying to remind myself that really it's all down to the embryo, if it can work it probably will and if it doesn't there probably wasn't anything I could do about it!

As you say, definitely much better in terms of the distraction!

JulesIVF · 07/03/2024 16:32

Excited for you @Shroedy!

Had my first scan for FET today. All went well, back again next Thursday and hopefully transferring around the 20th!

opentoadvice88 · 07/03/2024 20:45

Hey all, hope you don’t mind me barging in 🙂

I just had my surge on OPK so our frozen transfer will probably be on Weds (just waiting for clinic to confirm). Bit of background… fresh transferred worked but sadly ended in a MMC then we had a frozen transfer in Jan that failed to take so we’re down to this final frosty. Fingers crossed!

Feeling good and low stress levels. Drinking a proceive max a day to give myself the best shot. I’d really love a December baby 🤞🏻

Shroedy · 07/03/2024 21:48

Welcome at @opentoadvice88! Glad you're managing to stay relatively chilled. Honestly, my first transfer I was practically having panic attacks I was so stressed. No surprises that one did not take!

JulesIVF · 07/03/2024 21:57

Best of luck @opentoadvice88! Great that you’re not feeling stressed etc.

did anyone do acupuncture on day of transfer? Would you suggest doing it before or after the transfer?

Sunflower360 · 07/03/2024 22:48

@opentoadvice88 Hi 👋 Sorry about your previous transfers, hope this one works out for you, have you had any tests or investigations since the previous transfers?

@JulesIVF I'm having acupuncture the day before my FET which is on Saturday (I've also had a couple of sessions in this cycle already). Not sure if it'll make any difference, probably not, but wanted to give this first FET everything and then reasses!

Shroedy · 08/03/2024 07:26

So I decided to test today... 🫣😮🫣😮

Sunflower360 · 08/03/2024 09:41

Congratulations @Shroedy thats a good line ! 🎊 Are you at 7dp5dt? If you don't mind me asking what grade was your embryo?

JulesIVF · 08/03/2024 10:30

Awh how amazing @Shroedy . So happy for you 🥰🥰. A wee baby in time for Christmas. Massive congrats xox

Copenhagener · 08/03/2024 10:58

@Shroedy amazing news! I’ve got everything crossed for you that it sticks!

I had my first scan today for my first FET. Unfortunately my normally 6-day bleed turned into 10 days for the first time ever, so there’s no lining growth yet. I need to go back Tuesday for them to look again and schedule in transfer day.

I feel it’s because I took progesterone during my period on my January fresh cycle and it stopped me bleeding as thoroughly as normal.

They did say both my blastocysts were good quality, and they’re increasing my progesterone dose this time around given I started bleeding through on day 4 last time.

Just had a nice acupuncture session though, so feeling pretty chill today.

Thanks all - now the wait for a few weeks until a viability scan! I'll probably book that once I have my beta HCG blood results on Tuesday. I'm going to try not to test again for a couple of days and then have a compare.

@Sunflower360 yes, I'm 7dp5dt - the embryos were created in November 21 so I honestly can't remember but I know 3 of the 4 were really good quality and that this one was the same grading as my now 18mo.

Thanks, @JulesIVF - whole plans for the year suddenly shift!

@Copenhagener - that's so frustrating but fingers crossed it's just a delay of a few days but that lining gets where you need it to be!

DoctorBambino · 08/03/2024 15:36

Congratulations @Shroedy now on to the next stage of waiting!

Sunflower360 · 09/03/2024 07:59

@Copenhagener sorry about your lining, good that their upping meds to support with that. Are you planning on having a double or single transfer when it comes to it?

Copenhagener · 09/03/2024 08:49

@Sunflower360 It will be single because they only allow double transfers in Denmark if you’re over a certain age and have had multiple failed transfers.

I’ve only got one back-up blastocyst in the freezer, otherwise it’s back to ER. Hopefully it won’t come to that, but let’s see.

Transfer done today, now the waiting game 😬

Transfer done today, now the waiting game 😬

Amazing, congrats! Hope you've had your feet up and managing to relax a bit!

Sunflower360 · 10/03/2024 07:21

@Shroedy yep been relaxing thanks. I had such a full bladder when they scanned they suggested I empty some of my which I did, if this transfer don't work I'll know not to drink so much next time! How are you?

Shroedy · 10/03/2024 08:36

Honestly I'm not sure with that full a bladder I could manage to just let a bit out - that's some good pelvic floor control 😆

Having a bit of a wobble. My parents and MIL both know about the FET and last time we waited until OTD to tell them the outcome. As today's Mother's Day we thought maybe we'd retest this morning and if the line had got darker as we would expect it to then we'd tell them today. Well, ended up waking up at 5am really needing a wee so decided I probably had to test then to get FMU. Anyway, I ended up peeing in a cup and dipping so I could do both a FRER and a digital.

I didn't re-read the instructions on the FRER and ended up dipping it until I could see the liquid passing through the window (definitely much longer than 5 seconds). Upshot is the line is the same as Friday so no evidence of HCG getting higher. Apparently "oversaturation" is a thing that can affect the test which is why they say 5 seconds. I don't have another FRER. Clearblue said pregnant 1-2 (totally fine as today is 9dp5dt but obviously a 2-3 would have helped allay concerns about the FRER...)

So now I'm of course freaking out it's a chemical. 🫣

Sunflower360 · 10/03/2024 08:49

@Shroedy We've just told family that we've had egg collections but just told them they won't get any further updates until/if we get to the 12 week point. As much as family and friends mean well the constant questions were driving me up the wall and having to update if something went wrong is hard as you're having to go through the same emotions again and again and again 😬 So I completely understand!

Could you perhaps do another test in a couple of hours? Think it advises to wait that long

Sunflower360 · 10/03/2024 08:51

Sorry you said you didn't have another FRER. Maybe cautiously tell them? A positive is still a positive and I understand HCG levels can vary in reach pregnancy

Shroedy · 10/03/2024 09:48

I think we'll wait a couple of days until the blood test and I'll test again tomorrow morning (thank you, Amazon Prime 😆) and then have the HCG test on Tuesday. My husband thinks the FRER from this morning is slightly darker than Friday but I think he has line eyes! Anyway, only thing to do for now is to try not to stress as that's not good for anyone...

Cloclo93 · 10/03/2024 10:26

Hi girls does anyone know if it's normal to get your period very early after failed ivf? I got as far as egg collection but none of my eggs fertilized so I didn't carry on taken progesterone, I just got my peroid today 7 days early ;(

Anyone have any experience in this? Ty
