Anyone else planning going through embryo transfer in January? Would love to hear from others on this journey.

We last did an embryo transfer in July 2022, which was unsuccessful and had a previous two transfers, one unsuccessful and one resulting in miscarriage. As those were our only embryos I've been through 2 ECs this year and now have 8 euploid embryos! It's been a long journey and I'm very hopeful for this next transfer 🤞

@Bettinapink hope you’re feeling a bit better after sleep. I think definitely call in sick tomorrow at least if you’re struggling. Just give yourself a break.

@bathmatshowermat that’s great that todays test looked positive. Are you going to test again tomorrow? Hope you’re ok - I think whether you test or don’t test, the TWW is so hard.

@Lebe14 im on lubion and Cyclogest too. I think I prefer the injections to twice a day pessaries 🤣.

Hope all those who have had transfers in the last couple of days are doing ok.

my test date is 30th Jan, so not for a while. I’ll be 13dpt then. At the moment I’m planning on holding out until then.

Thanks for the messages about symptoms (or lack of!). I think I thought I would have some cramping and I don’t have any. I did have a few cramps in the evening for two evenings (Sunday and Monday), but nothing now. Anyway, you’re very right that every pregnancy is different - and to be honest, if I had cramping, I’d probably be worrying about what that means 🤣.

lori2019 · 25/01/2024 11:39

I have woken up this morning with a cold. Of course I've been googling if it can affect the transfer 😫 Of all the weeks to get poorly. Undoubtedly something brought home by my son from the germ pit that is the nursery!

bathmatshowermat · 25/01/2024 17:29

@Always28 my OTD is also 30th Jan. I did test again today and again it was a very faint + line.

Lebe14 · 25/01/2024 18:00

@Always28 totally agree! I'm doing 3 pessaries a day so was an interesting one in the work toilets this afternoon. I'd much rather do another injection instead of 3 pessaries. They're easy to do, but just a bit grim haha!

Congrats @bathmatshowermat!! Fingers crossed for you.

@Bettinapink sounds like a good plan to call in sick - got to look after yourself at this time.

I'm feeling pretty knackered today on day 2 of progesterone.... so glad it's Friday tomorrow. My transfer is in the afternoon on Monday, so will be enjoying the lie ins!

Xx

Bettinapink · 25/01/2024 19:17

I’m sorry to hear you have a cold @lori2019 I hope it goes quickly.

Congratulations @bathmatshowermat 😀 of course, everything crossed for you.

I also have to say I’m hating the pesseries! Doing them at work hasn’t been fun and I reckon are the thing that has been making me feel sick.

I have felt a lot calmer today. Off to sainsburys with my Mum in a minute tho,
must resist urge to buy pregnancy test!

DublinICSI · 26/01/2024 10:04

Hi all! Just catching up - getting hard to keep track of everyone!!

@Always28 I also have no symptoms - hard to not start second-guessing everything?! My tummy is sore from the progesterone injections, so sometimes I feel a twinge and think its internal before realising its just the bruise! Can't tell my head from my elbow at this rate.

My OTD isn't until next Friday (2nd). Luckily next week will be busy in work but can already tell it's going to be a struggle. Can't decide whether it's easier or worse knowing that I won't get a period regardless?!

Wish I could have a glass of wine tonight 😂

lori2019 · 26/01/2024 10:34

@DublinICSI I had my FET in Spain, on the post transfer info pack it said you can have a small amount of alcohol occasionally. The Spanish certainly have a different way of doing things 😂

kateb24 · 26/01/2024 10:43

Hi everyone, I hope you don't mind if I join the group?

I've been reading your messages and I just wanted to say it's been such a huge support to know I'm not the only one going through this. I'm also in the dreaded 2ww! We transferred our last 2 embryos on Saturday, so I'm on day 6. This is our 5th transfer.. we had 8 embryos initially and felt so positive but now we've used our final 2 and just feel like its our final chance. We might be able to do one more round if these ones don't take, but it's just so draining and takes over your life. I'm 40 this year and these embryos were from when I was 37, so just feel like my chances are diminishing. I'm finding it so hard not to symptom spot, google everything.. Plus work is really full on at the moment and I'm freelance so have no choice but to get on with it! Anyway, sorry for the long message but just wanted to say again how nice it's been to know we're all going through this together! Hope everyone is doing well and staying sane :)

Lyrabee · 26/01/2024 13:10

Aaah congratulations @bathmatshowermat !

There's so many of you in the tww now, I have everything crossed!

I still have no symptoms, the clinc has booked in my scan on 13th feb but won't do a beta. I think the 3 week wait might test my patience. I'm doing a test every few days to make sure the line is still there.

botsytots · 26/01/2024 20:14

Congrats on the positive tests @bathmatshowermat !!

Hope the last couple of days have been less stressful for you and you can do lots of relaxing this weekend @Bettinapink

Sorry to hear you've come down with a cold @lori2019 😣 are you feeling any better today?

Welcome @kateb24, it sounds like you've had quite the journey so far. I have everything crossed for a positive result for you. When are you planning on testing? Hope work is not causing any additional stress! It's so hard to juggle it all isn't it.

I had another scan today and my lining has caught up so I need to trigger ovulation tonight and then transfer is booked in for a weeks time on 2nd, feels like I've been waiting forever!

Lebe14 · 28/01/2024 15:09

Hi all. I hope you're all doing well.

First FET is tomorrow (!!) and wondered how much water you each drank beforehand? My clinic has advised to drink 1 litre an hour before. Want to try and get the balance of my bladder being full enough, but not so much that it's uncomfortable.

Planning on drinking some water before I leave home and then a further 1/2 litre on my way to the clinic (about an hours journey). Does that sound about right? X

Warrier87 · 28/01/2024 15:39

Hey all!

Sorry been so quiet. Been a bit of a rough 2ww - just getting a bit nervous, and trying to keep myself busy. But going a bit nutty in the process hahaha...

But I checked this morning, and can't believe it's positive! I saw the one line, and just cried, whilst my husbands like it's a cross! I couldn't even believe it! I know we've got a long way, but I'd never thought I'd get this far...

@Lebe14 - def drink up. second time round ended up having to wait as my bladder wasn't out. Ended up drinking under 3L. Just do enough till you feel comfortable, then top up when your waiting there

@bathmatshowermat - congrats! Amazing news. How are you keeping?

@kateb24 - so I did one 2ww and took 2 weeks off (similar to yourself I freelance.) this time I couldn't afford to take the time off, and it's worked out...

@lori2019 - hope your feeling better... has your cold settled?

L

Lebe14 · 28/01/2024 16:02

Massive congrats @Warrier87 - that's amazing news!!! Was your test date today or have you tested early?

Thanks for the 'full bladder' advice too. I'm pretty sure my bladder is small and water goes straight through me 😂😂 we're planning on getting to the clinic a bit early so I'll drink 1/2 litre before we leave the house, 1/2 litre en route, and then fill it up at the clinic to drink more while we wait. Hopefully that'll work?!? X

Warrier87 · 28/01/2024 17:37

@Lebe14 - so test day was today. Woke my husband up at 5am! As he had the pregnancy test! Haha... worth the early wake up for sure!

Hahaha should totally work! Haha don't end up with the 3L in you dying for a pee hahaha! 🤣

HopefulHead · 28/01/2024 17:55

Congratulations @Warrier87 thats amazing news and well done for waiting until test day!!! I started testing at 4dp5dt last time, I have no self control 😂

I have a scan tomorrow and as long as my lining is thick enough we should get booked in for transfer the following week 🤞🏼

I’m really struggling with my hormones at the moment and only taking oestrogen 🙈 dreading when I start to progesterone too!! This is why I did natural last time as I really struggle when I’m hormonal and adding extra in just doesn’t suit me at all 😭

Anyone have any tips on keeping my hormones from making me commit murder go crazy? 😵‍💫

Lyrabee · 28/01/2024 18:20

Congrats @Warrier87 ! That's great news 😀 welcome to the 3 week wait haha

Always28 · 28/01/2024 18:22

@Lebe14 I think that sounds fine! You can keep topping up. When I went, my bladder was so full that I ended up going to the toilet to let some out a couple of times!! And it was still pretty overfull to be honest! So I think I would drink a bit less if I did it again.

@Warrier87 congratulations!! That’s amazing news. I’m really happy for you. Do you have/have you had many symptoms?

im 11dpt but my test date isn’t until 13dpt. So I’m holding off - partly because I’m terrified of a negative result! I had stomach cramps on Friday, and felt sick yesterday but have felt fairly normal today.

DublinICSI · 28/01/2024 18:25

@Lebe14 i used the toilet just before I left for the clinic… drank the whole way in and then a bit more while waiting, I’d say just under 1L in 45 mins? I needed to pee but wasn’t uncomfortable - and that was the perfect amount. I overdid the water last time and was SO uncomfortable but it also made the process sorer? So I’d say 1L total would be plenty.

@Warrier87 that’s amazing news!!! Huge congrats. Another positive in this group 🤗

I’ve got my test on Friday, nerves are definitely starting to kick in! Particularly as I have a blood test in the morning and won’t hear the outcome until after lunch 😵‍💫

@HopefulHead I’m no use to you - I’m definitely more irritable with the hormones, and the progesterone has knocked me out… I am so tired the last few days!! Good luck with the scan tomorrow 💪

HopefulHead · 28/01/2024 18:47

@DublinICSI Thank you!
Maybe just send prayers for my husbands wellbeing then if I’ll get worse on progesterone too 😂

Always28 · 28/01/2024 19:18

@HopefulHead good luck with your scan. No amazing advice here as my hormones are all over the place! But hope yours calm down a bit.

Lebe14 · 28/01/2024 19:21

Thanks all for your advice on the 'full bladder' situ! I'm defo overthinking it but don't want to be uncomfortable.

@Warrier87 well done for waiting until your test day! I defo know I'll cave 😂 congrats again.

@HopefulHead sorry to hear you're struggling on the oestrogen 😔 if it's really bad could your clinic prescribe you it in a different way i.e patches or gel? Personally I've felt okay on the oestrogen. Although when I started the patch on top of the pills I did start waking up quite nauseous and almost feeling hung over. That went away when I started the progesterone though. Hopefully adding in the progesterone might balance things out - if that's even a thing?? 😂 Good luck with your scan tomorrow!!

X

Bettinapink · 28/01/2024 19:24

I hope everyone has had a good weekend. Or if not, well done for getting through it. Many of us under such intense stress right now, it’s easy to forget how well we are coping really!

Congratulations @Warrier87 definitely worth the early wake up 😃

@Lebe14 your plan sounds good. I drunk too much before my FET, the whole experience was quite unpleasant!

@lori2019 I hope your cold has improved and you are feeling alright.

@HopefulHead no real tips with hormone management…just that a change of scenery helps me sometimes. A walk can reset me. I also find a YouTube meditation helpful, I don’t know if you are into that but that also puts me in a better state. The one I like is Meditation for Anxiety - Deepak Chopra.

My weekend has been ok but I am struggling with an upset stomach (since started pesseries to be honest) tummy cramps and lower back pain.

My test date is tomorrow… I’ve not done any early tests. I can’t believe I’m so close to finding out now…😬

HopefulHead · 28/01/2024 22:28

Thanks for the suggestions all, hopefully it will even out when I start the progesterone then! I have been doing meditation and it makes me feel nice and calm & balanced while I’m doing it…. Then I hear my husband sneeze or laugh or breathe too heavy and I’m back to feeling irrational rage 😂😂😂

Good luck with your test tomorrow @Bettinapink and well done for not testing early!

kateb24 · 29/01/2024 11:32

Ah congratulations @Warrier87 thats amazing news.

Good luck @Bettinapink today!! Well done for holding off to OTD

@Lebe14 hope you are feeling okay today!

So I caved a tested early yesterday at 8days and got a faint positive!! Couldn't believe it. OTD is 1st Feb, so will do another one then and just hope and pray it sticks!!

HopefulHead · 29/01/2024 12:33

Congratulations @kateb24 😃 there seems to have been lots of good news in this group, let’s hope it continues 🤞🏼❤️
