2dp5dt, who else is in 2ww?

It’s the dreaded 2ww after my FET on Tues. checking for bleeding all the time, symptom spotting etc. How is everyone else doing?

Last night I had cramping and this morn had the tiniest amount of pinkish discharge. Could be combo of constipation causing cramps and pessaries irritating cervix rather than implantation. Don’t want to get hopes up as probs a bit early for implantation?!!

This is my 5th transfer and if successful will be our 3rd IVF baby. We’ve been incredibly lucky.

Tested this morning and 100% BFN. Just wanted to get it over and done with rather than hanging around the whole weekend for it.
Feel ok. Just massively frustrating that none of our frozen embryos are sticking when the first one did! I don’t know whether it’s worth getting more tests, my consultant didn’t seem too fussed about them last time. I’m worried that I’ve got something wrong that wasn’t there before I had DD. I had to have a csection with her and I’ve read a lot about how it can lower chances of conception (natural and IVF). It could also just be incredibly bad luck (after a massive dose of good luck first time). I don’t know whether to use our money on the last 2 embryos or start a fresh, although at 38 I’m not sure if that’s just a waste of money. Lots of questions to ask at my follow up appointment!

CR7 · 05/05/2023 09:11

@Chocoholic85 they should be asking lots of questions and looking at your past protocol etc not just doing the same thing again xx

Chocoholic85 · 05/05/2023 09:25

@CR7 I am going to be advocating for something different. I’ve never had any issues responding to the protocol, lining is always fine, progesterone level fine. They did try me me estrogen patches to try and get
my lining a bit thicker (it’s always been between 7.6-7.8) but I had awful side effects (crippling stomach pain/nausea) so had to stop. We’ve also always been in the unexplained camp which I find incredibly annoying as well!

CR7 · 05/05/2023 09:28

@Chocoholic85 I also have oestrogen tablets. Three patches every other day plus two tablets in the morning. Also used to struggle with my lining but not now x

Chocoholic85 · 05/05/2023 12:10

I’m just confused as to whether the clinic think I struggle with my lining or not?! Their cut off is 6mm so by those standards mine seems ok. I know it differs in other places. I wasn’t given any options after the patches disagreed with me and at the last follow up the consultant seemed to brush my lining under the table. Not sure whether to see a different consultant this time or stick with the same for continuity.

CR7 · 05/05/2023 13:02

@Chocoholic85 I would move person. My clinics cut off is seven mm. I also had endemtrio testing done which was very revealing. They should be changing every cycle even slightly or they are wasting your precious embryos xx

loulamay · 05/05/2023 13:21

So sorry @Chocoholic85 - will be super interested to hear what your clinic suggests for the next transfer. I am adding questions to an email draft as I think of them and one of them will definitely be about the implantation window. I've always managed to do pretty natural cycles because my lining has looked great, but I desperately wish I knew what had gone wrong this time. Unfortunately from what I'm reading, PGT normal embryos only have about a 60% success rate (which seems wild. I am always in awe at people who fall pregnant naturally when SO many things have to align) so maybe it's just a case of trying again.

If our next transfer with the last frostie doesn't work, we're probably in a new boat of finding a clinic closer to home which feels daunting.

Are all of you UK based for treatment? Was wide awake for hours the other night and was researching European options.

clhiu · 05/05/2023 13:36

@loulamay oh my god, this ‘I am always in awe at people who fall pregnant naturally when SO many things have to align’ AMEN TO THAT 🙏

And the even more head-scratching thing about it all is that people with fertility issues are still a minority so actually for most people all of those things align, no problem 🤯

Chocoholic85 · 05/05/2023 16:47

Thanks @CR7 and @loulamay
I’m at CARE in Leeds. We had our NHS round there and stayed with them. Not sure I would recommend them to be honest. I know CARE have clinics all over the UK.
I think I will try someone different for next round. Our current consultant wanted a double transfer with the last 2 embryos and cynically I think he’s trying to hurry us along to get to a fresh round (and spend more ££). I don’t want a double, feels like even less chances!
I will ask about implantation window as well.
I’m not sure about microbiome testing, I took a concoction of vaginal probiotics for this round which obviously haven’t helped.

CR7 · 05/05/2023 17:43

@Chocoholic85 I also took those as recommended after my Hysteroscopy and that also came up as something to treat after my endemetrio test which they suggested as i always struggled with my endometrial thickness. Just working as ask. Nothing to lose x

CR7 · 06/05/2023 18:34

How are you @MimosasInFrance x

CR7 · 07/05/2023 10:39

@MimosasInFrance been thinking of you all morning x

loulamay · 07/05/2023 15:42

Hope everyone is doing ok!

We are back in the UK. I had a total meltdown to my poor husband last night because I couldn't find my PJs in the suitcase. Proper sobbing ffs. Think it must be a hormone come-down or something.

My period also arrived which in one way is closure but in another, I am feeling this loss harder than any other. Perhaps, as some of you have echoed, it feels as though time is running out.

Sorry - it's a bit of a pity post. I think I need to get back into some kind of rhythm here which will I'm sure will come over the next week or so.

CR7 · 07/05/2023 15:48

@loulamay please feel free to tell us how you are feeling without worrying about it being a pity post. I'm on the two week wait of my third transfer. The last two were unsuccessful. I know how hard this is. Just take things a day at a time and be kind to yourself xx

loulamay · 07/05/2023 15:52

@Chocoholic85 I am always surprised that anyone does double transfers these days, especially with anyone over the age of 35. Also, like you say, if it's any kind of lining/endometrium issue then why on earth would you risk losing two embryos until you knew more about that?!

loulamay · 07/05/2023 15:53

thank you @CR7 😢that's so kind. It's wonderful to have a place to post, especially as we all know what each other are going through x

CR7 · 07/05/2023 16:12

@loulamay no one can understand it like we can x

@CR7 that's FANTASTIC NEWS! I'm so, so happy for you - you must be over the moon 😊😊😊 How are you feeling?

My OTD day was yesterday and it's still positive here 😊

@loulamay - I'm so sorry, it must be so hard. Not a pity post at all, this journey is difficult and I'm not surprised your emotions are all over the place.

Sorry I've been bad at keeping up the past few days - I had to attend a hen party of all things. Thinking of you all 🤍

CR7 · 08/05/2023 08:56

Glad all is ok and you've been having fun @MimosasInFrance xxxx
