@1stcycle how are you doing? Hope you're ok after the last scan and things begin to resolve for you so you can have a few months taking care of yourself before thinking of another cycle xx

Thanks @Imisscoffee2021 - going for 9.30 so it's half way :)

Thinking of you for tomorrow @ralno2 - hope it all goes ok xx

1stcycle · 27/03/2023 09:06

@Imisscoffee2021 not doing the best today had a bit of a cry this morning, I had my mother here staying all weekend so I put on a brave face and didn’t get time to digest it properly as didn’t want her to notice. But now this morning it’s all caught up on me. I think I just need the closure so hate this wait for it to either pass naturally or treatment options on Thursday.

@ralno2 hope all goes ok today and you are feeling ok. Rest up xx

Tinkerbell098 · 27/03/2023 09:31

@1stcycle aww so sorry again you're going through this. I also found the waiting to pass bit the hardest of all. It's like you have accepted it, and now want to move on, but can't. Have you stopped the progesterone? It took a week after stopping this for me to start a bleed. It was very quick after that. Hope you can have closure soon. Stay strong and sending you loads of hugs X

@ralno2 thinking of you today. Sending you love X

@seekingbabyk yey for doing the injections by yourself! I would never be able to do that! So well done! Is your first scan today? Good luck X

seekingbabyk · 27/03/2023 11:04

Oh @1stcycle I'm sorry you're feeling so down. I think that's completely normal. Hopefully this next few days will go quickly for you. It's Thursday your next scan isn't it?

@Tinkerbell098 thanks - it's actually a lot easier than I thought tbh! Although I made the nurse do my fermadyl in the leg this morning lol! Follicles coming along nicely they counted 16 between 9mm and 16mm so seem to be happy. I have scans Wednesday and Friday and I think we are likely to do EC on Monday, although there's a possibility of Saturday too. Feeling so tired this round! How are you doing?x

Tinkerbell098 · 27/03/2023 11:32

@seekingbabyk that's amazing. sounds like it's all going great and EC will come by in no time. I'm alright, having a midwife appointment on Thursday. Hoping to hear the heartbeat then. Have you planned anymore trips after you're done with EC?

1stcycle · 27/03/2023 12:24

@Tinkerbell098 thanks I’m feeling a bit better now after a cry. I think just held it in all weekend and now I’ve been able to let it all out. Yes I stopped progesterone on sat…I debated it for a few days as she said it was up to me if wanted to keep taking for peace of mind etc but then decided to stop in hope that maybe it will pass naturally now before Thursday but we will see.

@seekingbabyk im glad it’s going well so far and sounds like your follicles are progressing well! EC will be here in no time now!

seekingbabyk · 27/03/2023 14:57

No nothing else booked @Tinkerbell098 although my brother lives in wales so might go see him for a few days at the end of April once kiddies are back in school. Awww that will be lovely hearing the heartbeat 💗

Hope everything starts moving for you soon @1stcycle

MinBins · 27/03/2023 16:45

Big hugs @1stcycle thinking of you 💕 it's a difficult thing to process, it'll take time to heal emotionally. Hoping the next phase goes okay for you.

Honeybunie · 27/03/2023 22:07

@seekingbabyk glad the stims are going well and you’re already like half way in aren’t you. Great follicle count 👍 Funny to hear you put your big girl pants on and did it yourself. That made me laugh 😂 I’m glad you’re finding it easy. I first thought I couldn’t do it, but then I just went and did my first one and was impressed how easy it was. Now I quite like the whole process in a nerdy kinda way 🤣 I’m looking forward to it 😂 now I won’t be saying that anymore once I hit the Lubion 🙈😂

Honeybunie · 27/03/2023 22:12

@1stcycle @ralno2 So sorry to hear what you’re going through. I naively forgot that you might need a procedure to have things sorted 🙈 so sorry. Hope it all goes well whichever way and you can move on x

KLM25 · 28/03/2023 08:46

Hi ladies, sorry I’ve been a bit quiet on here, I’ve been keeping up with all of your news.

@ralno2 and @1stcycle I’m so sorry for what you’re both going through, it’s really tough. Sending a big hug to you both.

I had another transfer on the 15th, just the one embryo, as the clinic were adamant that they wouldn’t transfer two. It was another BFN, I did a HPT on Saturday at 10dp5dt. I feel like I’m getting PTSD from the FRERs as that’s the 3rd BFN in a row now 🤦‍♀️ I went for a blood test privately yesterday to confirm it for the clinic and decided I would have a progesterone test at the same time, as I’ve never had that tested for any of the five transfers. Those results should be back this afternoon.

So now we’re just deciding what to do next. We’ve got 3 frozen embryos, so we’re just wondering whether to do one final one at our current clinic before the end of May when I reach their cut-off age or whether to look into moving them all to a new clinic in Spain. Have been doing some research and have sent a few emails. So much to think about 😏

Hope everyone’s doing well and has a good Tuesday x

seekingbabyk · 28/03/2023 10:03

@Honeybunie yes I have done every one since tbh. Hubby feels like a bit of a spare part now lol! I'll definitely be glad for this to be over. This time next week I should be completely done and recovering. It was weird filling up my daily pill pot and only going to Sunday actually but I can't imagine the relief next week. Is it may you are starting your meds? Not sure they'll give me lubion jabs - will have to see when we get to that stage but definitely having a couple of months to let my body heal first!

Oh @KLM25 I'm sorry you had another BFN - we're all rooting for you to see that second line! How does it work moving them to Spain? Is that expensive? I guess if next months transfer works you wouldn't need to do that so if you feel up for it it might be worth a try. I know a few of the ladies on here insisted on progesterone testing and asked for more and this resulted in success so that's worth a try! Were you just using pessaries before or injecting it too?

KLM25 · 28/03/2023 10:39

@seekingbabyk Thanks so much for your lovely message ❤️ It’s so comforting to talk to you ladies.

To be honest, I don’t know about the transportation or the price at the moment - I feel like it could be quite a task. All I know is that our Czech clinic have suggested it and a clinic I have contacted in Spain have confirmed that it is possible, they just wanted to check that the donor is anonymous. We need to do some more research really.

My beta hcg and progesterone results have actually come back already, surprisingly enough, so I’ve passed them onto my clinic. It confirmed the BFN and my progesterone was 47.7 nmol/L which means nothing to me! Does anyone have any experience of progesterone levels and what they should be?! This was 12dpt5dt and I had been taking it for 17 days. 1 x 400mg pessary at 9am and 9pm and a daily Lubion injection from the day of transfer.
I’ve passed all of that on to the clinic anyway and they’ve said my consultant will
come up with a new protocol and asked if I’d like to have a consultation with her, so I suppose it can’t do any harm x

Honeybunie · 28/03/2023 18:27

@seekingbabyk amazing you’re doing all of them now by yourself. Bless your hubby haha. Gosh yeah you can stop the supplements soon can’t you. That’s quite exciting too 😆 god I’ve spend so much money on those recently 🤦‍♀️ following the book down to a T 😆 just thinking it might save us another round of ivf so it’ll be worth it in the long run 🤞🤞 yeah starting meds second half of May if all goes to plan 🤞 another scan for you tomorrow? Let’s see what the follicles are up to 😃

Honeybunie · 28/03/2023 18:31

@KLM25 Sooo sorry to hear your last transfer didn’t worked. Hope you’re okay. Which clinic in Spain are you looking into? I think there is a world renowned one in Spain isn’t there? I watched a video about them a while ago. Is it that one? Have you considered genetic testing or have you done it?

seekingbabyk · 28/03/2023 18:51

@Honeybunie yes another scan tomorrow. Really struggling today with side effects - very breathless, chest pains and fed up. Cried 3 separate times. Going to see if we can reduce dose to 225 instead. If they say no the thought is crossing my mind to reduce it anyway. Keep thinking just a few more days x

Honeybunie · 28/03/2023 19:43

@seekingbabyk Aawww no so sorry you’re having these side effects. Yeah ask them if it’s possible to reduce the dose. Must be awful. Not long now xx

KLM25 · 29/03/2023 13:22

Thank you @Honeybunie ❤️ Saturday was a rough day and I cried in Sainsbury’s 🤦‍♀️ but I’m ok now, I’ve gone into full on planning mode!

I’ve been in touch with Instituto Marques and Instituto Bernabeu. That’s really interesting about the video - would I be able to find that anywhere? I think they’ve both got good reputations, not sure if it was either of those, I think there are lots in Spain.

We haven’t done genetic testing up until now. We’re using donor eggs but I suppose it could still be an issue so something to think about.

I’ve got a follow up consultation with my current clinic on Monday and I’m expecting a new protocol tomorrow. I’ve heard today that my consultant is suggesting Norethisteron in order to help with the timing of another transfer.

My OH is going on a stag weekend in late May so I just feel there would be no point in doing another transfer if it would clash with that. If we’re happy with potential timings and our conversation with my consultant, then I think we’re swaying towards doing one last transfer in Prague x

girljulian · 29/03/2023 15:25

Hi ladies, can I join?

This will be my second full round of IVF after

  1. Cancelled cycle due to poor response (March 2021)
  2. Cycle ending in one embryo and a chemical pregnancy (March 2023)
  3. Surgery to remove my endometriosis (May 2022)
girljulian · 29/03/2023 15:26

Oh, and to clarify, I'm now about to start Letrozole today -- this will be new since last time as apparently it can help poor responders. Then starting injections on Friday.

MinBins · 29/03/2023 15:59

Welcome @girljulian!

We also had a cancelled cycle in our first stims, due to the response of the medication. But also exciting to hear that you're starting your second round!

Would you be on the long protocol? Good luck for Friday!

girljulian · 29/03/2023 16:26

@MinBins it's "short protocol" but it looks pretty long to me! I think that just means there's no down regulation because down regulation was what made my first cycle so particularly crap. It seemed to turn off my ovaries completely and then when the nurse scanned me, it was crickets in there in terms of follicles. They seem to be throwing the kitchen sink at it this time as I'm on:

Letrozole
Menopur (150)
Ovaleap (300)
and then Fyramedel later on.

KLM25 · 29/03/2023 19:52

Welcome @girljulian 😊 Great news that you’re moving forward and about to start again. It sounds like they’ve learned a lot from your previous cycle too so it all sounds really positive 🤞 x

seekingbabyk · 29/03/2023 21:56

Hi @girljulian - welcome to the group! I'm stimming at the moment too but probably triggering Saturday. Feels lonely doing it in my own this time - always had someone else at the same time! I'm on round 3 now and doing a freeze all. Hoping everything goes well for you with your round. Are you booked for a baseline scan Friday?
