@seekingbabyk glad you’ll be stocked up on your supplements soon. I’m alright just counting down the days for my scan, which is in 6 days! Still no symptoms whatsoever.

@Cat89 aww that’s great everything’s perfect. Thanks for the reassurance regarding symptoms. My main worry was that last time with my MC, I didn’t bleed as I was still on cyclogest. It took 8 days after stopping the medication to start to bleed. This time I’m on cyclogest as well as lubion so don’t think I’d know if I’ve miscarried or not until a scan as I doubt I’d bleed whilst on this much progesterone. But I’m staying positive and hoping for the best. Zero symptoms is always a worry X

Yep definitely nervously counting down the days @seekingbabyk - glad it's arrived! Will you start to take them once they all arrive?

@Tinkerbell098 that's such a difficult thing to go through, and I can understand the anxious wait. The MC I had last time just makes me not be able to fully relax until scan, and probably not even then till every milestone is met.

Tinkerbell098 · 18/01/2023 13:42

@MinBins yes, I am the same, always worrying about the unknown, given the history. Fingers crossed for both of us! Have any symptoms started for you yet?

It is just such a shame that going through IVF it seems we'll never get to experience the careless happiness and excitement that people get that conceive naturally 😕 The time, energy and worry we invest is just immense isn't it. But anything for a little one 💞

wow @Cat89 great news and nearly 12 weeks now :)

@Spin101 is that your scan round about day 12 next week? not long to see how you're getting on with your lining. Oh dear those dizzy spells sound awful. do you have low blood pressure anyway? did you check if it would be a side effect of l-arginine? But yeah if you're not sure about it don't take it.

@MinBins going home to Germany again for my grandma's funeral. so not a nice occasion, but will be nice to see the family.

Bit of a stupid worry, but maybe somebody knows - we only have hand luggage - do you think they'd pull out our bags at security if capsules with liquids in them are not in the designated plastic bags? would the machines be so sensitive to detect that? was thinking to throw the pill boxes in the rucksack to have everything in order, but worry they might get pulled.

@seekingbabyk glad the supplements arrived :)

Tinkerbell098 · 18/01/2023 14:31

@Honeybunie sorry to hear about your grandma. Hope you and your family are OK. I have travelled a few times with the whole million supplements (including capsules) I was on (for about a year during TTC) and they were always in my hand luggage and it's been fine. I had them in a clear bottle so it was obvious what they were, but I was never questioned on these. As far as I know, supplements/vitamins are allowed to be taken on board. It was definitely a massive chore to take these on holiday, and hated packing these for me and OH when we used to go away for weeks. Actually remembering to take these whilst away was another story!

Thanks @Tinkerbell098 fingers crossed. No real symptoms to be honest, hunger in morning (but it subsides quickly.) Feel twinges here and there. Sore breast but similar feelings to how they are before period. The pregnancy tests are still positive and strong. So I take some reassurance from that. Still nervous though. What about you?

You're right, @Honeybunie! I saw a celebrity pregnancy announcement recently where they didn't find out till a few months later. And while I wouldn't wish this uncertainty and anxiousness on anyone, I wish we didn't have it either and could relax in bliss that everything will be okay.

Tinkerbell098 · 18/01/2023 14:47

@MinBins zero symptoms. The first week I had my BFP I had extreme hunger, but that disappeared after about 3-4 days. I don't have anything at the moment. No sore boobs, twinges, fatigue, nothing! My OH reminded me that I never get any symptoms pre-period either. I have always been clueless if AF was around the corner as I don't get any symptoms that others seem to get (no sore boobs, cramps) and I don't get any pains/cramps during either. I would never know until I go to the loo and wipe/ see blood. So maybe I'm one of those people who are so oblivious to hormone changes internally, who knows! So I tell myself to ease off the anxiety a little bit.

OP posts:
MinBins · 18/01/2023 14:59

Ah I know plenty of people that have had no symptoms whatsoever to then go on to have healthy pregnancies. And like you say maybe your body reacts differently to hormone changes.

It's become such a thing to see fainting, sickness and fatigue as signs that we almost expect it and worry otherwise if we don't have it. I remember watching (old) movies and someone would faint or vomit, and then it would be followed by "congratulations!!"

Like you, the symptoms I have now are what I'd have around hormone change (sore boobs, hunger - always got that before periods) so maybe it's our bodies that react differently. Or I need to wear a better fitting bra 😅 and if you don't have the symptoms it's just because you don't get symptoms pre-period.

6 days to go, I'm willing them to go by really quickly for you! Mine is like two weeks I can't even 😩😂

MinBins · 18/01/2023 15:00

@Tinkerbell098 forgot to tag you below

Honeybunie · 18/01/2023 15:05

Thanks @Tinkerbell098 that has put my mind at ease! I do dread packing all of these for when we go away for longer. and yes remembering them when you're on hols and have routine 🙈I'm also working away from home in February, so I'll have to sort OH's out, take mine with me, and ring him constantly to remind him to take his!
Interesting link to you not having symptoms before your period either. you might be on to something there :) I also never have any. which is nice I guess

@MinBins how do people not find out that they're pregnant until a few months later?! Do they not realise they've missed their period?!

Tinkerbell098 · 18/01/2023 15:06

@MinBins yes, I think we are all conditioned to believe that all pregnancies are the same, and everyone has these pre-defined symptoms. I've heard so many stories where people have not known for weeks that they were pregnant, so I am living in hope. Just need the next 6 days to just fly by so I can relax a little bit. Hope the two weeks go by really fast for you too! Haha I chuckled at your comment that you may need a better fitting bra. To be honest, I don't wear a bra most of the time as I work from home and only step out and wear one just to walk the dog in the evening 😂

OP posts:
Tinkerbell098 · 18/01/2023 15:12

@Honeybunie haha oh God I remember having to nag OH to take his supplements. It was so annoying! 😂interesting to know you don't get any pre-period symptoms either. I don't know, it's just me trying to find reasons as to why I'm not feeling anything. I think I'm just searching for any reassurance I can get until I make it to the scan next week.
I know!! I've always wondered how people don't know they're pregnant. My best friend has PCOS and when she fell pregnant, she didn't find out until after 8 weeks as she suddenly thought, "oh! I haven't had a period in a while, let me do a test!". She said due to PCOS, it's not that unusual for her to not have a period every month. She had mild nausea, but put it down to something she's eaten/ work stress.

Honeybunie · 18/01/2023 15:32

@Tinkerbell098 I know so annoying 😂him not doing what he should is my biggest worry. constantly reminding him to take his bloody phone out of his jeans pocket 😑and I did feel bad at first for making him take all these pills. but then I found a good bit in the book and cited to him lol: "Although taking all of these supplements for several months is no doubt inconvenient, it can make a dramatic difference to the chance of success. It is often well worth the sacrifice in order to save your partner from the physical and emotional toll of yet another failed IVF cycle and pregancy loss" very empowering 💪he is very bad with big pills though, so i feel for him. He cannot swallow the big fish oil capsules, so he chews on them and has to taste it. it's awful to watch and make him do it, but there we go. he has no choice 😅
I would really see having no symptoms as a good sign at this stage 😊i was even looking out for symptoms during my TWW, which is silly lookign back, and even my mum said to me then that you dont tend to have any symptoms until weeks in

Spin101 · 18/01/2023 16:08

@Honeybunie scan’s been booked in for a week on Monday which would be day 14. I guess a few extra days will be beneficial with my lining. I used to have low BP but not anymore so it is odd I’ve been having those dizzy spells.
I love that you quoted the book to OH! It’s very true though. IVF is not pleasant on our bodies!

@Tinkerbell098 haha I’m the same, no bra needed when wfh or when I go for walks as I’m so wrapped up 🙈

I started Progynova today and have not been feeling great. I’ve had on and off lower abdominal pain and I don’t know if it’s the medication or my period. Did any of you have symptoms whilst on Progynova? Mind, I’ve only taken 2 pills today.

MinBins · 18/01/2023 18:23

Haha I don't know @Honeybunie, I wish that happened to me 😂 it was a few months too. Haha the oil capsule bit reminded me of my early experience with cod liver oil vitamin capsules when younger (no idea why my mum gave them to me it helped my er hair growth?!) I remember biting into them. But now I'm able to have 4 vitamins together in one gulp. 😂😂

Ah if it wasn't for those video calls I'd totally do that too! Little do they know I'm in my pyjamas on the bottom half 😂 @Tinkerbell098 fingers crossed the 6 days will go by quickly!

Honeybunie · 19/01/2023 09:12

@Spin101 Oh I look forward to hearing about the scan 😃fingers crossed 😊hope the dizzy spells pass. I do have low blood pressure, but I only have problems when I stand up too quickly. Yeah the book is the bible haha. I didn't have any symptoms on progynova. How many are you taking? I had to take 6 a day, after the lining was too thin and I was ovulating on 3 a day the cycle before.

Haha I'm the same, no bra at home or for walks until I acutally have to go anywhere. Love the bra-less and comfy clothes working from home life 😅

@MinBins OH said the same about his mum giving him cod liver oil when he was litte. it was quite a thing back in the day wasnt it. OMG 4 vits in one go? kudos haha

Tinkerbell098 · 19/01/2023 14:41

My clinic is so stingy with the lubion, no idea if it's because it's pricey or they're controlling the stock in the hospital pharmacy. I basically have to go every week to pick up a prescription, hand to the hospital pharmacy (that's the only place I'm allowed to get it from) and because the pharmacy is so rubbish, make a separate trip to pick it up as they take forever to dispense a prescription. I've just been this morning, had an accident on the way (I'm OK, car is somewhat OK, could have been worse), went to a pastry shop, bought pretty much one of everything they had and stuffed myself to cheer myself up. I've still got to go back to collect the lubion as I'm running out tomorrow. Sorry for the rant. Hope the day gets better from here.

Imisscoffee2021 · 19/01/2023 14:51

@Tinkerbell098 glad you're OK! That must have been so scary! Put your feet up and don't worry tonight if you can, nice warm bath and a bakery treat!

Lubion is so pricey! Cost me £100 a week as I was private.

Honeybunie · 19/01/2023 17:44

Oh Jesus @Tinkerbell098 scary stuff! Glad you are okay! Why on earth do you need to go get a new prescription every week? Do they not give it to you for more than that?
God that’s a lot every week isn’t it @Imisscoffee2021 but we’d all pay it happily don’t we 😊

Imisscoffee2021 · 19/01/2023 18:06

@Honeybunie yeah :) we're lucky we had saved during lockdown and got a little inheritance from my husbands grandad so we could do it :) we've chosen the middle name for his grandad to thank his memory for helping make it happen.
Hope you're feeling OK @Tinkerbell098 ? X

Honeybunie · 19/01/2023 19:05

Aaawwww @Imisscoffee2021 thats soooo sweet 🥰🥰🥰

seekingbabyk · 19/01/2023 19:09

Oh no @Tinkerbell098 - glad you're ok! And definitely allow yourself a treat!

Awww that's so lovely @Imisscoffee2021

Spin101 · 19/01/2023 20:25

@Tinkerbell098 really glad to hear you’re ok. that sound so stressful! Hopefully telling the clinic about your experience might make them prescribe you more than a week at a time. Why would they put a patient through all that?!

Spin101 · 19/01/2023 20:43

@Honeybunie ☺️ thank you! Dizzy spells have stopped and I think it’s because of the l-arginine. Ah you must be careful when standing up! I think my abdominal pain was period pains as I’ve been fine today. I’m on 8mg (4 a day).
haha blissful bra free life!

I started watching Alex Jones’ making a baby today. It is emotional at times and pretty amazing too

MinBins · 19/01/2023 23:39

Oh gosh hope you're okay @Tinkerbell098 glad to hear you were safe. It sucks to hear about the lubion, it's so annoying when you have to do the same trip multiple times. The pastries sound delicious, were they sweet or savoury? 😋

Private meds are so expensive @Imisscoffee2021 - i agree. Lovely gesture with the middle name.

I haven't seen that @Spin101 I'll google to see what it is, any good? Glad the side effects have gone down now. Keeping fingers crossed for you!
