It is wonderful to see how many ‘graduates’ we now have on this thread and I very much hope it continues to be a successful/lucky thread for everyone else!

@Tinkerbell098 I can’t believe you have to get the Lubion weekly, what an absolute pain! Hope you got a good rest last night and are feeling okay this morning.

I am in for another scan this morning and I’m hoping they can say I can trigger tonight. The higher levels of Bemfola are working for me; I had 13 follicles on Wednesday, with maybe 7 potentially in the running size-wise! Looking at that chart I do think I’ll be ready to trigger today, my only worry is they might want to push my collection to Monday as they don’t like opening on a Sunday, but we’ll see.

Tinkerbell098 · 20/01/2023 11:28

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I am ok. I was a bit shaken yesterday, but all OK now. Insurance is going to sort everything hopefully. The van that hit me just came off a side road so fast, straight into my lane. I swerved a bit to avoid it, but still he managed to hit the side of the passenger side. Apart from some scratches and difficulty in opening the passenger side door, the car is fully functional, so I think it could have been worse!

Yes I will raise the Lubion prescription issue with the clinic when I see them on TUesday for the scan. I think it's probably because it's NHS, basically I don't pay anything towards it, so they are probably waiting to see if the pregnancy is viable so not over prescribing and prevents people from hoarding medicine. To be honest, they didn't mind about cyclogest, as I've got way extra pessaries than I need as I had a few boxes left from my previous round too. So it must be the price. But it is a little unfair for me to go every week just to collect a prescription. So nervous about Tuesday's scan, but keeping everything crossed it's all ok.

@Imisscoffee2021 that's really sweet to name after your OH's grandad.

@Decaffe all the best for today's scan and hope you can trigger tonight. Great numbers! how's the work stress? hope it's eased off a bit now?

Glad you are ok today @Tinkerbell098

How did you get on @Decaffe ?

Imisscoffee2021 · 20/01/2023 20:02

@Decaffe hope today was trigger day! Great number of follicles! X

Decaffe · 20/01/2023 21:49

I’ve just triggered! He says he’s hoping to collect 8-10 eggs so fingers crossed please.

We’re doing an elective freeze all as my hospital consultant has put me in for a laparoscopy (at my request) for suspected endometriosis. So this morning I’m discussing this with my clinic consultant when he replies, as matter of fact as anything, that he wouldn’t be surprised if I do have endo as he can see adenomyosis on my scans and I have a tilted uterus which can suggest adhesions...!

Like, what?! I had to ask him what adenomyosis was. Why has no one said before now I have adenomyosis?! The number of scans I’ve had..?!

Why has it taken me to join the dots and ask for the surgery to explore endo? The number of consultants and GPs I’ve spoken to over the years and discussed these symptoms. Why on earth did no one mention endo before?!

Decaffe · 20/01/2023 21:53

Don’t worry, I’m not angry or upset or anything. My last post may come across that way 🙈 We are where we are now and we can’t change the past. On the positive side I’m hopefully going to have a good egg collection and let’s hope for some nice embryos. I’m on the waiting list for surgery. At this point I can’t ask for any more.

But… as if it has got this far and no one has thought to bring up and rule out what is a common condition. The mind boggles tbh!

seekingbabyk · 20/01/2023 22:39

@Decaffe the most important thing is that they are looking into it now for you but yes it really is frustrating. You really do have to fight to get your concerns heard don't you!

I'm glad you got to trigger today! So 9.00 Sunday morning for EC?

I'm so glad I did a freeze all last time - definitely doing that again. Give yourself time to heal and rest afterwards and then we can both tackle FETs later!

mrsmb03 · 21/01/2023 01:07

I am new to this thread.

Please can somebody please help me. I have been stressing and have not thought of anything else since.

I started IVF just before I turned 43. Since DH was not able to provide sample on the day of the egg collection we had to freeze the eggs collected. We have since provided his sample and the sample also now been frozen.

Doctor advise I wait 2 natural cycles for possible embryo transfer. I was also then been informed on that follow up appointment that since I am now 43 my funding has finished?!

This is the first that I have heard of this. No one has ever mentioned the possibility of this being an issue mid way the treatment. Surely one would think that this is part of the same cycle same treatment.

I did so very well with this treatment too and now stressing out that it all will go to waste. And I have wasted all my mature eggs. (again)

The clinic has made so many mistakes previously but I am scared to complain thinking they will not accept me as a patient anymore.

Biggest one was before going to theatre for egg collection they told me I can't proceed as I had travelled to Asia (family emergency). I told them this on my consent form but they started me on stimulation anyway and I completed it. I had 11 good follicles just before egg collection and was hoping 11 or more eggs on egg collection day as I had 2 ovitrelle shots.

Please any advise. 😭

Decaffe · 21/01/2023 01:32

The best thing to do is to Google your CCG’s fertility policy and to read it closely. It is likely that as long as the cycle has started (stimulation drugs) before you turn 43 then the cycle can continue past the birthday. This is exactly what’s happened with me - I had to start my cycle before I turned 40. Even if it was just my very first stimulation injection. As long as I started that before my 40th birthday, then we can continue to do embryo transfers over however many months or years it takes! I would be very surprised if your CCG doesn’t have similar wording.

Decaffe · 21/01/2023 01:32

@seekingbabyk yes! Can’t sleep tonight, typical haha.

mrsmb03 · 21/01/2023 01:47

@Decaffe That's what I don't understand why they are stressing me out. Does tablets to delay control cycle period counts?

Thank you for advise.

mrsmb03 · 21/01/2023 02:11

What I read was:

Maternal Age: Women aged 23 to less than 43 years at the start of treatment.

Number of embryos per transfer: Women aged between 40 to less than 43 years – TWO embryos may be considered for transfer per procedure.

MinBins · 21/01/2023 11:50

Those are really positive numbers @Decaffe hope it all goes well keeping fingers and toes crossed for you!

Are you with NHS? It's frustrating that you almost have to get all the evidence and symptoms together for them to join the dots. I found my NHS journey (I couldn't be funded but did initial tests via NHS) and clinic journey very different.

My SIL has adenomyosis, and so I know of it - hope you're able to get further clarity through tests. The first step is for it to be diagnosed so you can begin the journey to improve it. 💪🏼💪🏼

Agree with Decaffe's advice @mrsmb03 about reading the clinic policy. Maybe they would allow the eggs to be transferred to a private clinic afterwards, or saved for a future try at a cost. Best of luck to you!

Tinkerbell098 · 22/01/2023 08:57

@Decaffe good luck for egg collection today!! Finger’s crossed everything goes smoothly X

Good luck @Decaffe although you're probably done and recovering now! Excited to hear your results and keeping everything crossed for you xx

Decaffe · 22/01/2023 10:15

Ladies I’m astonished. Out of 13 follicles he got 12 eggs. I know not all of them will be mature etc and we’ll have drop off but I am astonished. And still a bit woozy 😂 Thank you for checking in xx

Tinkerbell098 · 22/01/2023 10:21

@Decaffe woo! That’s amazing!! Hope the recovery won’t be too bad. Get plenty of rest. Fingers crossed for great fertilisation rates X

seekingbabyk · 22/01/2023 10:33

Fantastic news @Decaffe let's hope for equally good numbers from here! Enjoy being looked after today and completely relaxing xx

Spin101 · 22/01/2023 10:35

@Decaffe yay! That’s great!!! Fingers crossed for great fertilisation rates!

@MinBins thank you! It is an informative show but I appreciate it may not be for everyone. It’s ok UKTV

@mrsmb03 if you’re comfortable doing so you could reach out to your hospitals PALS and outline what the issues have been. They should be able to help resolve anything that the clinic have done out of policy/line

Imisscoffee2021 · 22/01/2023 13:12

@Decaffe 12 eggs!!! That's amazing, what a great result! Fingers crossed lots of mature ones x

MinBins · 22/01/2023 15:50

Woohoo @Decaffe! That's fabulous! Get some well deserved rest and recovery now - fingers crossed for the next stages!

mrsmb03 · 22/01/2023 16:21

@Spin101 Thank you. I will look into it.

@Decaffe amazing results! Good luck!

Can I ask you ladies please

I think I must have put myself at risk. It' 12th day today after egg collection and we had unprotected intercourse. I feel better from egg collection and it has not been made clear to me how long should we wait. He didn't cum inside (sorry for tmi) and I was on antibiotic after the egg collection.

I have frozen my eggs and doctor said have to wait for 2 natural cycles before possible embryo transfer.

Please advise.

Good luck to everyone.

ralno2 · 22/01/2023 19:55

Hi All,

Just spent the evening reading though this thread and the thread before - great to hear all the success stories!

I started Menopur 300iu yesterday, I had a baseline scan Friday and they said I had a small cyst but they then did bloods for oestrogen and it was ok.

also at the baseline the nurse said she saw 2 follicles on my left and 2 on my right, does the follicle number increase with Menopur? I also have a low AMH. 37 and this is my first cycle - OH has low morphology so we are going with ICSI to be safe.

Welcome @ralno2 - and good luck with your IVF! Unfortunately I'm not sure, while the stim stage is to encourage follicle growth - I wouldn't know enough to say about Menopur.

Is it your first round? Hope it all goes well!

How are you feeling after EC @Decaffe , hope you're recovering well x
