@Imisscoffee2021 Aawwww congratulations 🥳 on being 12 weeks today. What a feeling that must be 🤗 such a lovely scan pic as well ❤️ it must be so much fun to tell the family! Not long now till you can tell your mum 😊

Imisscoffee2021 · 31/12/2022 11:21

@seekingbabyk That's such a wise decision, best to be in the best place you can be for that last round, after enjoying yourself fully. Egypt sounds amazing, my husband is a huge Egyptology nerd so it's on our list, you'll have to give me some tips!

So you could have all your frozen embryos sorted by April and can start transferring, exciting!

Imisscoffee2021 · 31/12/2022 11:24

Thank you @Honeybunie! It's starting to sink in now and feel a bit more secure, hoping nothing is flagged on tests next week and I can tell the family, it'll be a huge surprise I can't wait! They don't even know we've had IVF so I think it'll take a moment for my mam to take in, going from needing IVF to being pregnant with what will be a 14 or 15 week fetus by then!

Honeybunie · 31/12/2022 11:46

@Imisscoffee2021 Gosh yeah that will be a surprise for her. Make sure you sit her down first 😄 I’m sure everything will be fine for you 😊

seekingbabyk · 31/12/2022 11:49

@Imisscoffee2021 I'm sure everything with your tests and scan will be fine! It'll be lovely for your mum too!

We are hopefully going to sharm el sheikh rather than pyramids etc. we are both experienced scuba divers so hopefully do some diving and just some chilling really in the sun! Yes I totally agree and I think aiming for an April/May FET would be perfect for us. The we have until august to complete unlimited FETs on our package so if we end up with two more, that'll give us 5 opportunities to transfer too hopefully. Not sure if you can do them back to back?

Cat89 · 31/12/2022 14:49

Hi all!
I'm sorry that I sorta abandoned this group unintentionally after starting IVF in Nov. Here's an update from me:

  • November IVF Cycle, First cycle after going private to fast track my journey!
  • 10 eggs, 3 fertilized 🙈, 3xD3, 2xD5
  • ET on 28NOV Grade 4AA. The other is 3AA in freezer
  • BFP achieved in OTD 😀😀
  • Week 7 scan last Thursday was on track, with strong heartbeat seen ❤️.

I'm absolutely over the moon after having two failed pregnancies in Jul 2021 and Feb 2022, neither were viable at the Week 6/7 scan.
My learnings: my anxiety was through the roof for the TWW and this continued for the Week 7 scan, I put so much pressure on myself for this to work given my previous two losses 😔. I actually still don't have many symptoms at all so I was absolutely convinced the Wk7 scan would show non-viable pregnancy. My advice is to not overanalyze every single symptom (or lack of in my case!), try to avoid testing and watching if the line grow stronger/weaker as it's heavily influenced by how much you eat/drink and caused me concern unecessarily. Some light pink spotting is common and not a reason to panic, especially if it's only very light and only lasts 1 day (I spotted twice and both times I was all doom and gloom whilst in reality embryo was happily growing away!). Everyone is different and in my case I have no sore boobs whatsoever, no sickness, no need to pee often, but I do have: a huge bloated belly after eating/drinking, headaches/lightheadedness, lower pack pain near by bum lol, lots of cm I feel like I'm leaking all the time sorry tmi! These symptoms are not present every day, some days I feel completely normal.

Sorry for the long msg, but wanted to share my experience so far. It's still early days so fingers crossed things will continue 🤞.

It's nice to see so many positive stories here. Good luck to those awaiting ET, OTD and first scans!

@seekingbabyk I'm desperately wanting a holiday and thinking of going to Egypt in April next year. It's been on our list for ages and kind of want another adventure holiday before we're tied down too much.. ! Xx

seekingbabyk · 31/12/2022 18:32

@Cat89 wow that's amazing news! Congratulations and I'm glad you are not suffering too much with symptoms!

Egypt is a lovely place for a bit of winter/spring sunshine- April will be perfect and not too hot!

Such positive news on this thread at the moment it's so lovely to read ❤️

seekingbabyk · 31/12/2022 18:35

@Tinkerbell098 and @MinBins how are you both feeling?

MinBins · 31/12/2022 19:16

Thanks @Honeybunie hope your OH is better soon!

@Imisscoffee2021 awww look at the little bean growing up 💕 glad the sickness is subsiding - hopefully the second trimester will be easier in terms of symptoms. Happy 12 weeks!

@seekingbabyk that makes sense taking a break to recover, Egypt sounds lush! And probably best to be able to fully enjoy it without thinking about excluding foods etc (yes it's always about the food with me 😂)

@Cat89 congratulations! That's great news and thanks for the breakdown of symptoms and your experiences!

Since egg collection & transfer I've had nausea, headaches, fatigue and i'm thinking it's the progesterone and aftermath of all the hormones (too early for anything else). OH has been doing everything in the house, while I rest. I hope it subsides by next week when I have to begin work after my annual leave. 🤞🏼🤞🏼

seekingbabyk · 31/12/2022 19:27

@MinBins - yes I'm all about the food too but also can't scuba dive if pregnant so another reason to hold off.

Really glad you are resting and being looked after. Have you been testing?x

MinBins · 31/12/2022 19:45

Ah yes of course @seekingbabyk that makes sense.

My transfer was on weds so wasn't sure when you could test at the earliest. I've ordered some tests and once they arrive I'm hoping maybe Monday I can test 🤞🏼 the otd is 9th Jan.

seekingbabyk · 31/12/2022 19:49

@MinBins I think usually day 7 you'd probably get a pretty good indication but you can definitely get late positives too so if it isn't, don't completely write it off. Also it's fine to wait to OTD. Might be best to just put it out of your mind and focus on relaxing and taking care of yourself. No judgement here you just have to do what works for you x

MinBins · 31/12/2022 21:31

I don't think I'll last till OTD to be honest 😅 @seekingbabyk hoping to test over the next days 🤞🏼

MinBins · 31/12/2022 21:31

Happy new year everyone, hope 2023 is the one for us x

Tinkerbell098 · 31/12/2022 21:41

Hi girlies! Been so busy since Christmas it’s been absolutely bonkers hosting family. I need to catch up on messages from today yet but wanted to wish you all a very happy new year and may 2023 bring us all what we wish for and we’ll have our babies in our arms by this time next year. Lots of love to all X

seekingbabyk · 31/12/2022 23:13

Don't blame you @MinBins I think we'd all be the same!

Happy new year girls - hopefully this is the year for us all 😁

MammyandAva · 01/01/2023 11:00

Happy new year everyone!

Thank you everyone. I had my third lot of bloods on Thursday and they came back as 3614 at 16dp5dt so that's really positive.

I have woke this morning and I'm bleeding again, dark brown and red streaks 😭😭

Tinkerbell098 · 01/01/2023 11:09

@MammyandAva wow that’s really high. Are you about five weeks now? I think you should be able to get a private scan done with that high hCG. It’ll put your mind at ease for sure. Everything crossed for you X

@Imisscoffee2021 great you got to see your little one on the scan before the new year. Glad everything is going well for you and you can tell your family soon. Really happy for you.

@MinBins ah I know the feeling! Good luck for when you decide to test.

I’ve been getting dark lines on easy@home tests but the lines haven’t really progressed in the last three days which is worrying me and very reminiscent of the previous cycle. I’m terrified this might end badly again and really really anxious. I’ll try to get my clinic to do bloods next week. My extreme hunger seems to have disappeared too and I have no other symptoms. I’m 10 days post transfer today.

OP posts:
MammyandAva · 01/01/2023 11:12

@Tinkerbell098 yes I'm 5 weeks 2 days. I can't get a private scan until I'm 6 weeks and my clinic have booked my scan for the 12th (I'll be 7 weeks)

But I have rang the hospital this morning and they have booked me in the EPU for Wednesday, although, that still feels like a lifetime away 😭

Imisscoffee2021 · 01/01/2023 21:36

@Tinkerbell098 thank you :) about your lines, mine stopped getting darker after a point, the easy at home ones especially just reached a certain colour and never changed. My symptoms also went away days at a time and returned, and in hindsight were very mild, I certainly knew it when true nausea and sickness kicked in, and actual sore boobs where getting out of bed kills them and will randomly just hurt for no reason! Thinking positive for you, arw you going to have a hcg or just wait for first scan? Have your clinic booked one for you? X

Tinkerbell098 · 01/01/2023 21:59

@Imisscoffee2021 thank you that’s reassuring that they have a limit. Just that online I’ve seen dye stealers on easy at home tests so was expecting them to get darker. OTD is on Tuesday basically when my clinic reopens after the break. They’ll then advise when the blood test would be, I’m assuming the following week. Based on that they’ll book in the first scan roughly around 7 weeks. Fingers crossed this one will stick. I have very very mild nausea in the sense I feel a little pukey sometimes especially after food but wasn’t sure if I’ve just overeaten or not given the holidays. But nothing like what people describe nausea to be. I bet you’re glad to be done with lubion and pessaries now.

OP posts:
Imisscoffee2021 · 01/01/2023 22:07

@Tinkerbell098 nice not to spend £100 a week on lubion😱 I've got 4 left so doing them every other day, and about 5 pessaries so once a day instead of 2 to wean off rather than cold turkey as I worry. I might get a progesterone test in a few weeks just to make sure the placenta is making plenty as I have such low progesterone naturally, though never had a placenta so don't know how it will be! Taking meds is quite a reassuring crutch so I'm sure I'll be a bit paranoid when I run out, as per usual!

I remember the nausea of very early pregnancy and it was nothing compared to a few weeks later, I certainly wasn't being sick or getting sudden waves of extreme nausea like last few weeks. I was a symptom spotter too though and worried alot, it's natural after everything. I still log every twinge on Flo tbh, can't break the habit!

Cat89 · 01/01/2023 23:32

@Tinkerbell098 I was testing using easy@home and the line hit a limit fairly early on and never got darker after that but fluctuated a lot in the automatic reading it gives you. In fact, the day of my week 7 scan the line was 1.96 compared to 3.6 of Week 5. It's not worth the stress imo! Thinking of you and keeping everything crossed. It's a horrible time waiting for the first scan, I thought after BFP the anxiety would subside, but no! If anything I might have been worse actually 🙈.

@Imisscoffee2021 do you know when nausea hit you hard? I'm now 7w4d and tbh maybe every other day I have some moments of feeling a bit yucky in my throat but it passes fairly quickly and I'd say overall nausea is very very mild - certainly nowhere close to what I read of people throwing up! Maybe it's yet to come, or maybe I'm just lucky??! My lower back (like the tailbone) is painful and even walking is a struggle without me groaning. I never had back problems so it's a bit worrying given it's so early on, don't suppose you've experienced this?

Imisscoffee2021 · 02/01/2023 00:06

@Cat89 @Tinkerbell098 I was a victim of the hook effect where I did a HPT at about 6 weeks or more and it was fainter than before, had a sad morning thinking it was going away then read up on what highevels of hcg do to the tests, so diluted the urine with 50% water, dipped another and the line was blazing again! So Tinkerbell don't be alarmed if that happens, doesn't mean it's going away!

@Cat89 I've not had horrendous nausea, just frequent morning retching over the loo from about weeks 8 onwards, sometimes sick if I have food in my stomach. I was sick today just quickly after a bath, I find if I get thirsty I feel sicker. A friend whose 3 months ahead of me had borderline HG so I think I got away with bad sickness! It does get quite debilitating at certain times of day, for me usually the evening or if I have an empty stomach. It's a wierd feeling of wanting to eat but all food just becomes suddenly grim. I find myself thinking of food alot, day dreaming about it but then faced with the reality of eating it I feel sick! Hopefully you don't get it bad :) x

Imisscoffee2021 · 02/01/2023 00:07

@Cat89 forgot to say sorry yeah lower tailbone pain is something I've had, I have a bit of right side sciatic pain anyway from my job but I get stretching crampy pains in my pelvis and lower tail bone pain at the same time, uterus growing pains apparently!
