@MammyandAva this is a handy tool to work out due date and therefore how far along you are with an ivf pregnancy:

www.theivfjourney.com/due-date-calculator/

I think my clinic scanned me at 6+6 weeks, that's just when they scheduled me in as they seem to do those scans on Thursdays, lots of couples in the waiting room that day! they scanned me once more 10 days later before discharging me to the NHS.

MinBins · 28/12/2022 10:08

Hello! Hope everything is going well.

I have my transfer today. From the eggs collected, 12 fertilised and 6 made it to blastocyst (or thereabouts some need an extra day) and I think the one they are transferring is a blast that's 4AA which the embryologist said was positive. I have a scan first about the fluid on uterus, then from that they'll determine whether it's freeze all or go ahead today.

I'm nervous, and excited. Wish me luck 🍀

Tinkerbell098 · 28/12/2022 10:59

@MinBins thats an amazing outcome and a super embryo! All the best today X

OP posts:
seekingbabyk · 28/12/2022 11:03

@MinBins great news that's a fantastic number of blasts and a great grade too! Fingers crossed you can transfer today!

How was your line progress today @Tinkerbell098

Tinkerbell098 · 28/12/2022 11:15

@seekingbabyk the line is still there. To be honest, I didn’t bother taking a picture yesterday so the strip is quite dried up now to compare against today’s. I told myself I’m not going to obsess with lines this time as last time it didn’t make sense as I was still getting dark lines even after the miscarriage. Think 48 hour bloods and scans are the only true way to find out so I’m going to wait this one out. I’m so scared of a second miscarriage in a row, not sure how I’d handle it if it comes to that. Fingers crossed this is the one 🤞

OP posts:
seekingbabyk · 28/12/2022 11:20

@Tinkerbell098 yes definitely not worth obsessing over lines at all but I think all of us if we had a faint line would test the next day lol! Keeping everything crossed for you xx

Tinkerbell098 · 28/12/2022 11:30

@seekingbabyk i think what happened last time has put me off of testing all together. I’ve got so much anxiety now around pregnancy tests I didn’t even realise until I did one yesterday. Just brought back so many memories from the previous cycle. It was only two months ago that I was in EPU running the bloods and doing the scans. I just really really hope I don’t have to go through that again.

OP posts:
MinBins · 28/12/2022 12:59

Ah I can understand @Tinkerbell098, you're protecting your well-being. It's such a traumatic thing to go through, and I hope you're able to stay positive through the next weeks.

Sending all the positive thoughts and fingers crossed for you.

Tinkerbell098 · 28/12/2022 13:54

@MinBins thanks❤️ Any update on your transfer?

OP posts:
MinBins · 28/12/2022 15:11

@Tinkerbell098 the scans came back clear and the transfer happened an hour ago. It was so quick, at the end I was still standing around in the room thinking there's more to it - and the doctor was like "er - well good luck and see you later" 😂

Now just trying to stay positive and away from stress.

Tinkerbell098 · 28/12/2022 15:13

@MinBins aww yey for being PUPO! Yes I remember the first time thinking it was such an anticlimax. I was in and out within 10 mins and thought “that’s it??” Relax as much as you can and all the best! When is OTD?

OP posts:
seekingbabyk · 28/12/2022 15:16

@Tinkerbell098 I can completely understand that! Stay positive though - we seem to be having great news on this group at the moment so hopefully it's all turning for us all!

@MinBins that's amazing I'm so happy for you! Stick little bean! 🤞🏻

Imisscoffee2021 · 28/12/2022 15:20

Such fab news @MinBins ! And lots of little frosties too! Enjoy being PUPO, fingers crossed for good news at NY! Xx

MinBins · 28/12/2022 15:46

Thank you @Tinkerbell098, @seekingbabyk and @Imisscoffee2021!

The OTD is on the 9th Jan! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Spin101 · 29/12/2022 15:54

@MinBins I hope your embaby sticks!

@Honeybunie according to my doctor, BMI has a big part to play with lining thickness as it’s something to do with your estrogen receptors. We’re a similar BMI. Do you have regular periods?

I was less than 19 two years ago and the NHS guidelines for my CCG is you need to be 19 or above to be eligible for IVF. Definitely try to put on weight if you can and avoid too much refined grains if you have any PCOS issues.

I’m the same, I tend to be sedentary most of the day so need to get back to daily walking.

Not sure why my doctor laughed regarding viagra. It could be because I’m currently on the NHS and perhaps they only do that privately 😕

MinBins · 30/12/2022 18:32

Thanks @Spin101!

How is everyone doing? Hope you're okay @Tinkerbell098!

I've spent the past day giving myself prep talks into not over analysing everything post transfer 😅 🙈

Tinkerbell098 · 30/12/2022 19:03

@MinBins i know! TWW is the hardest part of ivf I feel. Hope you’re ok. I’m alright. Really really hungry these days which I’m taking as a positive 🤞

OP posts:
MinBins · 30/12/2022 22:14

Ah that's a positive sign @Tinkerbell098!

Yep it's definitely tougher in terms of the overthinking bit, fingers crossed! 😂🤞🏼

Spin101 · 31/12/2022 09:23

I hope you’re doing as well as possible @Tinkerbell098!

I feel really anxious about my upcoming FET. I’m frustrated I have to take the pill for 21 days to get started (I know time will fly by) and then I really don’t understand what they will do if my lining is too thin when I go in for the day 14 scan. The nurse indicated they would stop the cycle but the doctor previously told me they would give me patches (but I wasn’t clear on whether it would be in the same cycle). I feel like I’m not in the know and I think that’s what’s making me feel anxious. As I’m on the NHS it’s not easy to get a doctor’s appointment but I’m wondering if I should ask for one.

I also don’t think they test progesterone levels pre or post transfer and according to what most of you ladies have said, I feel this is pretty crucial. I would hate for the cycle to fail due to them not testing my levels.

Sorry that was a long vent.

I hope you all see the new year through with a blast! In my case I hope to be in bed 😂 x

Honeybunie · 31/12/2022 10:27

Hello ladies. Just catching up after Christmas 🎅 and wow some very exciting news 😃 we’ve had a lovely and busy Christmas time. OH has a cat allergy and nearly got killed by my family cat in Germany 🙈 he’s still suffering and now has a chest infection and is on steroids and antibiotics bless him 🙈 and I’ve got a decent cold. Snotting and sneezing 🤧 luckily nothing on the lungs yet. Everybody is ill in Germany too

@Tinkerbell098 I’m soooo happy and excited for you that you got a second line. That is sooo promising. I know past experiences can taint what’s happening right now. But this might just be the one. And I hope you get to enjoy some of the happiness and excitement that would come with it if you hadn’t been through ivf and past disappointments ❤️

@MinBins such a great outcome and grade A embryos as well 🥳🥳 very happy for you. And glad there was no fluid and they could transfer one 🤗 fantastic. Hope you get your new year miracle ✨💫

@MammyandAva glad everything is going well on your end too. I keep my fingers crossed 🤞 for you 🤗

@Decaffe haha 😂 I also ovulated on Christmas Day so we squeezed in quickies Christmas Eve and day 😂 you never know 🤞🤞🤞

@Spin101 Thanks for the tips. Yes I have very regular periods. I’ve tracked my temp for years now and these are so stable that I always thought my hormone levels must be bang on. But maybe oestrogen is a bit on the low side 🤔 I can try put on some weight.. maybe that’s a good New Year’s resolution. I’ve got such a hectic few months coming up in work when I tend to lose weight as well. Just have to be mindful of it I guess and make sure I eat properly.
And yes it’s tricky to squeeze in exercise. I was thinking to try an app for daily exercise of 10min or so maybe that’ll be fun and help 😊
That is just rude that your doctor laughed. I would’ve thought that you get the same fair treatment and everything you need paid for on the NHS too.
Also you mentioned you hadn’t started l-arginine yet. Was just wondering why. Are there any side effects? Xx

Imisscoffee2021 · 31/12/2022 10:35

@Spin101 my clinic didn't seem to test much but I really pushed the issue with them for my frozen as I bled 7 days after transfer for fresh and just felt I couldn't be absorbing properly. All clinics must have the facility to do the test so hope you can get yours on board!

@Tinkerbell098 how are you feeling today? Anymore promising symptoms? I didn't have a lot of what people seem to get early on, sickness took a while to kick in properly, same with fatigue. Increased pregnancy cm only just kicking in last few weeks, sorry tmi!

@seekingbabyk hope you're feeling back to normal after a poorly Xmas! My husband and I had that horrible virus that went round about a week before Xmas and only just waking up from the stupor of it :)

Have a happy NY ladies, hoping 2023 is the year for us all in this group :)

seekingbabyk · 31/12/2022 10:41

@Imisscoffee2021 awww thanks - we are ok but it's still hanging on as it is with everyone I think!

How are you feeling now in your pregnancy? Has the sickness eased off? Did you manage to hide the meds from your family? And did you end up telling them? Also you are almost 3 months now is that right?

Imisscoffee2021 · 31/12/2022 11:05

@seekingbabyk aw hope it goes soon so you can enjoy the start of 2023 :) have you decided when to have your next cycle?

Sickness is still around but less, it peaked at 11 weeks for me. Saying that I was sick this morning but after food I'm fine. I was sick Xmas eve in my mams rockery as the bathroom wasn't free and she was in the living room, so ran out in the garden in the dark in a panic 😅 I actually told only my little sister as her husband was constantly being an excellent host offering me drinks, he was so excited at our news and was great at bringing me non alcohol beers after to throw my mam and stepdad off the scent! Think he enjoyed the secrecy!

I'm 12 weeks today, had a scan this morning and baby measuring 2 days ahead as usual, and looks like a baby now! Crazy to think that's in there now, I have a retroverted uterus so no signs of bump, just a hard feeling there. I have the NHS NT scan and syndrome bloods on Thursday, when I get those results and if they're good ill tell my family :)

IVF warriors - journey continues
Honeybunie · 31/12/2022 11:09

@Spin101 sorry to hear you’re felling anxious. Do you have a nurse’s telephone line that you could ring and double check what they’re planning to do? And talk through the different scenarios? If not try get an appointment - why not. You have the same rights as everyone else.

seekingbabyk · 31/12/2022 11:12

@Imisscoffee2021 omg that is so beautiful! What a lovely way to start your day and so nice that you are very close to being in trimester 2 now too!

So funny about the rockery and your BIL. I think all men see themselves as bond really so all the secrecy and hiding stuff is like part of that!

So I wasn't sure if I need another consultant appointment before next round but when I asked pre Christmas the nurse said he is off until jan 3rd so probably won't be this cycle (due on tomorrow). Then we are now looking at a trip to Egypt with family at end of Jan so will probably miss that cycle too and go for February instead. Tbh I feel like my body needs the break too. Two round 2 months apart I think pushed it a bit too far so just going to focus on being healthy and getting in best condition possible for round 3. I feel ok about that though.

Can't believe how quickly your first bit has gone! Do you think you'll find out what you're having?
