@Cat89 thanks for the reassurance. Yes it’s so so stressful and I’m even more panicky because of what happened last cycle. My lines never progressed as they should have done and I ended up miscarrying at week 6. But I feel that the lines I’m getting now are a lot darker than I did at week four in my failed cycle so do actually believe this more. But still can’t stop worrying because of the past and my OH is also staying grounded. It’s definitely a stressful time and really hope it would be difficult this time.

@Imisscoffee2021 do you remember when you started experiencing the hook effect? Was it this early on or a bit later? Also when did you do your first scan? Think depending on my bloods, I might go for one earlier than my clinic one.

Imisscoffee2021 · 02/01/2023 09:25

@Tinkerbell098 I got a dye stealer on a frer on 13th Nov (my transfer was 27th oct) where you could barely see the control line, then on 18th tested and the control line was way darker so thought it was going away. Did the diluting thing and it was back to a dye stealer with a weaker concentration of urine!

I had a scan on 19th Nov as I wanted to make sure things were there and in the right place, and saw a tiny jelly bean with a tiny heartbeat which was reassuring so I would have been exactly 6 weeks then. My IVF clinic scanned me at 6+6 and the embryo had grown loads! Most private clinics won't scan til 6 weeks as there'll probably be no heartbeat before then.

Tinkerbell098 · 02/01/2023 10:29

@Imisscoffee2021 thanks 😊 think it’ll be a waiting game for me now. I haven’t used a FRER since day 5 post transfer so no idea what it would look like now and I’ve run out. I’m back to work from tomorrow and it’ll be the busiest time for us so hopefully it’ll put my mind off testing for a bit until the clinic runs bloods. I’ll try and request a 48hour blood test from the clinic hope they’ll listen this time.

When would your OTD be @Tinkerbell098 - keeping fingers crossed for you. Hope work is okay too, and not too hectic.

I realised I never tested to see if the HCG from the trigger is still in my system. How many days after did you still get positives? I'm on day 11 today from my trigger.

Tinkerbell098 · 02/01/2023 19:53

@MinBins OTD is tomorrow. I did a frozen transfer this time so didn’t have the complication of hCG from the trigger. Although last cycle was a fresh transfer and I was testing out the trigger and got a complete negative by day 10 after trigger (3 days post transfer). But it was so so faint by day 8 and 9 my OH couldn’t see it but I saw a little squinter. Think from what I read back then, it could last up to 12 - 14 days.

OP posts:
MinBins · 03/01/2023 09:12

Good luck for your OTD today @Tinkerbell098!

Ah that's helpful with the trigger, there are so many things I'm learning by doing with IVF. I've taken a sneaky day off work today too, back to work tomorrow and I'm doing a full on couch potato day.

Hope everyone has a fab week back to work!

Imisscoffee2021 · 03/01/2023 11:21

@Tinkerbell098 happy OTD! XX

Honeybunie · 03/01/2023 13:01

Good luck @Tinkerbell098 🍀💓

Decaffe · 03/01/2023 13:06

This is turning into a very positive thread in regard to BFPs so I have everything crossed for you @Tinkerbell098, it’s certainly sounding more positive!

I am starting another round next week (9dpo today and BFN, no implantation twinges or cramps). Also my consultant wants me to have a gamut of blood tests in relation to recurrent implantation failure. These will have to be private rather than NHS; they’re a fortune but we have come so far and what if the answer lies within them?

We are going up from Bemfola 225 to 300 to begin with this round, with more frequent scanning. Hoping for more eggs.

Happy new year everyone. 🤞🏻

MinBins · 03/01/2023 13:15

Good luck for next week @Decaffe! Although they say you're not out till the cycle starts again! 🤞🏼

Ah I was also on Bemfola 300 and I think the higher dose made a difference. How are you feeling about starting the next round? Keeping fingers crossed that your blood tests come back okay and your next cycle goes smoothly.

Tinkerbell098 · 03/01/2023 13:27

Thanks all. The clinic test came up positive this morning so I've been to the clinic just now to collect more prescriptions for Cyclogest and Lubion. Clinic is doing bloods next Tuesday, which seems ages away.

OP posts:
Tinkerbell098 · 03/01/2023 13:30

@Decaffe yey for starting the new round next week and glad they've changed the dosage slightly. Hope the blood tests come back ok/ find something that's an easy fix.

@MinBins when is your OTD? are you testing this week?

OP posts:
MinBins · 03/01/2023 14:35

Yay @Tinkerbell098 that's wonderful news! Ah I know next Tuesday seems ages away (my OTD is on Monday) but fingers crossed it'll come by quickly for you! How are you feeling?

I'm going to test tomorrow (eek!).

Imisscoffee2021 · 03/01/2023 15:18

@Tinkerbell098 fabulous news!! So happy for you, hope your blood test brings you reassurance :) arenyou going to do an early scan or have they booked you a scan date yet?

Cat89 · 03/01/2023 15:28

@Tinkerbell098 am I right in interpreting you got a BFP today?? 😁

@MinBins eek good luck for tomorrow!! I know how nervous I was, sending you positive vibes.

@Imisscoffee2021 thanks for all the info on pregnancy symptoms. Very helpful 😊

@Decaffe that's really good that you'll be starting next cycle soon and that they'll be doing tests. I'm a bit behind on this group, what's your story so far? X

Imisscoffee2021 · 03/01/2023 15:42

@Decaffe hope your next cycle goes really well, great you're getting more investigations too!

@MinBins good luck for tomorrow!! :)

Tinkerbell098 · 03/01/2023 15:43

@MinBins thanks :) yes, seems ages away, but hope it will fly by. Ooooh! Good luck for tomorrow X

@Imisscoffee2021 Thanks :) I haven't had a scan date yet, but judging by last cycle, think they'll arrange one for w/c 23rd when I'll be 7 weeks plus. Don't think I will last that long, so depending on the bloods, I will arrange a private scan at 6 weeks.

@Cat89 technically, I got my BFP a week ago, but OTD from my clinic was today, so it was nice to have something formal I guess :)

Awww @Tinkerbell098 that's amazing news! So happy for you!

@Decaffe great news too re the next cycle! It's great they are checking everything so thoroughly too!

Im actually going to go for it end of January and get our third cycle done. It's cycle day 1 for me today but too late to do this one so going for end of Jan and going to delay our trip until end of February instead.

Tinkerbell098 · 03/01/2023 17:23

@seekingbabyk thank you :) it is only the first hurdle, but trying to stay positive :) great you can start the next cycle soon and you'll be done with collections before your holiday. Hope you have now fully recovered and your cycles are back to normal. Are you going with short protocol again?

OP posts:
Spin101 · 03/01/2023 17:24

@Honeybunie i hope you and OH have recovered. Poor thing, a cat allergy must suck!
I know it’s hard with a challenging job/long hours - try to have some healthy snacks like nuts on you so you can have them at frequent intervals. The exercise is also hard. I struggle with motivating myself especially when I’ve slept poorly
I hadn’t started l-arginine because of the size of the tablets. I bought 1000mg. I took my first one yesterday and almost got stuck in my throat! 😂

@Imisscoffee2021 Soooo lovely to see your scan 🥰🥰🥰 really pleased for you!

I’ve booked an appt with the doctor to have my questions answered. I don’t want to wait until each stage to find out something new.

seekingbabyk · 03/01/2023 17:31

@Tinkerbell098 im guessing it will be the same as last time but I need to check with the consultant so just waiting to hear when that will be. Yes I think fully recovered now. This is cycle 2 since egg collection so I'd think by the next one we'll be fine!

I think because of what happened last time if you phoned the EPU they would get you in for a blood test/scan so that might be worth a shot too. At least if you had one this week you would have something to compare to at your next blood test x

Tinkerbell098 · 03/01/2023 18:29

@seekingbabyk glad you’re fully recovered now. That’s a good idea I will check with EPU if they can do bloods/scan. Last time though my clinic wasn’t too pleased EPU got involved I think it looked bad on them so I might speak to a nurse at the clinic to ask if they can run 48 hr bloods and if they say no, I might try EPU. Thanks for the idea 😊

Honeybunie · 03/01/2023 19:06

Aaah fantastic news @Tinkerbell098 I'm so happy for you 🤗

@Decaffe sorry about your BFN. I hope you are okay. Will this be your second round of IVF? And how many transfers have you had without implantation? I had one and two, respectively. I was wondering after how many failed transfers they start do more blood tests.

@MinBins good luck for tomorrow morning 🍀

@Spin101 thanks! we're both still not 100%. It's probs just what everyone else has atm. It just lingers doesn't it. Yeah OH's allergies are awful. First time I saw what it does to him since we've been together. not pleasant. Also not great for me because I can't cuddle my family cat who I loooove lol. and we can never have a cat or dog booooo 😭
Yeah I'm also really bad at motivating myself. Was meant to start in the new year. nothing has happened yet even tho I have the time now lol.
I just read up some more on thre L-arginine. It really seems to work well according to research, just like the viagra treatment. But I just realised I've only been taking a fraction of the daily dosage I should have 🙈and yes the tablets are huge 😂on the tub mine say 4500, so I thought one capsule would be enough. I just read the label and one is only 750mg! And all research studies I've read give 6g a day. So I'd have to swallow 8 of these 😂😂so I've given up for now and will start with my next cycle again. I wonder if it's okay to take them during my next IVF cycle too. I've got my follow-up consultation in two days. I might ask them about it.

Tinkerbell098 · 04/01/2023 08:13

Morning ladies. Got some progression on the clear blue digital. 4+4 today. Think I’m starting to believe this 😊
