I’m preparing to start my treatment cycle in a month or so and thought it might be helpful to start up a thread for anyone heading for FET soon.

This will be my first FET so I’m nervous but also feeling hopeful having gone through a fair amount of testing and treatment. Think I’m about as prepared as I’ll ever be!

Current cycle finally got going two days ago after a bit of a delay and I’ve decided to use it to focus on eating well and getting into the right headspace.

Anyone at a similar stage and want some company?

Hi all, I'm 17+3 today, got an appointment with the consultant on Friday.

LT103 · 10/01/2023 16:10

I’m 19+1 today. Getting lots of fluttery movements and def getting stronger. I felt a strong one from the outside yest but hasn’t happened since!
i have consultant appt on Monday and 20 week scan on Thursday next week. I can’t believe how quick it’s all going!!

Bookbug92 · 11/01/2023 19:08

I'm 15+5 today, I have my 16 week appointment with the midwife on Tuesday. Anomaly scan is booked for 20 weeks on the dot on the 10th Feb, but we've decided not to find out what we're having!

Kelvie103 · 12/01/2023 10:25

Just had my 16 week midwife appointment today and got to listen to the heartbeat for the first time which was so lovely and has calmed my anxiety hugely. For the first time I'm looking forward to my scan on Saturday now! Next midwife appointment won't be until 26 weeks then a consultant appointment at 28 which seems strange to me a big gap then both together.

Kelvie103 · 14/01/2023 11:43

Had my scan today and baby is measuring right on track. Also found out we're having a little boy too! Alot of boys here haha. So glad we found out, it's just nice being able to call him him now instead of it! We had a boy name chosen for over a year but only recently decided on a girl name and it never felt right like the boy name did. I think it was a sign!

Since I've not posted a picture yet here's our little boy.

Congratulations @Kelvie103! How exciting to be expecting a boy, especially after having a name chosen ready!

chloedancer88 · 14/01/2023 23:54

@Kelvie103 beautiful picture! I'm so glad things are going so well for you xx

MyEasterEggs · 15/01/2023 09:48

Congratulations @Kelvie103 good to see LO is safe and well. And pleased to know everyone else is doing well too.

I’m 18 weeks now and finally off steroids, which was a welcome milestone to reach! Have started feeling proper flutters these past few days. Forgot it was like corn popping!

I’m loving now I can feel him daily. I fee like I have a fish flapping around in there at times. It’s reassuring
had consultant appt today and basically saying not to go over due date so I need to decide whether I want to try for natural but if not happening then early induction or whether I want a planned section. I felt like he was pushing towards a planned section but wouldn’t say outright and just sent me lots of info. Ugh another thing to stress about.
first things first, I have 20 week scan on Thursday!!

congrats @Kelvie103 ita so nice to get that reassurance from scan.

LT103 · 20/01/2023 13:51

we had 20 week scan yesterday . All ok apart from slight dilation in one of his kidneys. Normal is up to 7mm and it was 7.1mm so only just and they said might resolve on its own but if not they will follow up once he’s born. Just something else to worry about but apparently really common??
Everything else looking perfect tho 💙💙

@LT103 what an amazing pic! My 20 week scan pics were so creepy lol the baby kept looking right at the screen!

How is everyone doing? I'm almost 24 weeks so I'm starting to strategise my birth plan a bit. I'm leaning towards a home birth as I've had 2 previous normal deliveries with no complications. Obviously it's early days but my trust likes to know by around 28 weeks if you are planning a home birth. I hope everyone is keeping well x

@chloedancer88 I love that view. Some of mine were a bit freaky too like the nose/lip view haha. We’re choosing between an early induction and planned section and erring towards planned section but yeah will prob not be letting them know til my 28 week scan

chloedancer88 · 22/01/2023 21:21

@LT103 yeh I don't think there's any mad rush to make a solid plan before then. But it'll fly from 28 weeks I think! People keep asking when I'm going off work and I'm in denial that it's actually happening!

LT103 · 22/01/2023 22:04

@chloedancer88 yeah I haven’t thought that far ahead yet.
I did go shopping with mum and dad today and they bought us our pram and car seat set in the mamas and papas sale. And got wee outfit which made it all seem so real al of a sudden!!

chloedancer88 · 22/01/2023 22:19

@LT103 aw amazing! I did that after my 20 week scan but I still can't bring myself to buy clothes yet. Still baby steps for me! What pram did you go for?

LT103 · 23/01/2023 07:03

@chloedancer88 we went for mamas and papas flip with the cyber cloud z2 car seat as the car seat can lie flat when in the pram and spins round to make it easier getting them in and out car. There were so many nice ones to choose between though!!
they bought us some little sleepsuits which are just so cute I want to go max and buy lots but yeah I’m holding off until a bit later on

Kelvie103 · 23/01/2023 09:25

Its lovely seeing people's scans and hearing their little ones are doing well. My 20 week scan is 2 weeks today but it's when the strikes are on so not sure if that will affect it. I'm hoping it won't but not sure how all the different departments interact in the NHS.

I went shopping with my mum at the weekend and bought my first baby bits too. Got a few clothes and a little blue elephant Teddy. It was so nice given this time last year I'd just had my first of 2 operations to remove a polyp and was thinking I'd never get to the transfer stage and now I'm buying baby stuff! It is a bit tempting with the sales to buy the big bits but I'm still nervous about that, think I'll be waiting until March or April. Baby was super active all weekend though and felt like he wouldn't stop moving which was amazing! Hope everyone else is doing well.

Bookbug92 · 23/01/2023 20:06

Hi @LT103 I work on a postnatal ward and at the Trust I work at if the baby has a slightly dilated renal pelvis they will just check the baby has had a wee before discharge and arrange an ultrasound scan for baby at six weeks of age, if it's more dilated they will prescribe the baby some oral antibiotics but I've never heard of them doing anything further.

@Kelvie103 the strikes shouldn't affect your scan as midwives and sonographers haven't voted to strike and most units don't rely on nurses x

LT103 · 24/01/2023 06:40

@Bookbug92 thanks for that. I had a little panic at the scan but the sonographer really wasn’t worried. And I had a read up on things after. Glad to hear it shouldn’t be too big an issue ❤️

MyEasterEggs · 03/02/2023 19:57

Just checking in to say hi 👋🏻

It’s been a wee while since I last posted. Life and work have been busy post Christmas and I’ve also been finding pregnancy quite challenging. Emotionally more than physically. But things are getting easier now baby is moving regularly and we’ve had our 20 week scan. The support I’ve been getting for anxiety has been really helpful too. Nice to have someone to bounce thoughts off.

This week I was referred for physio as my SPD is back! How is everyone else coping with aches and pains? I hope you’re all well and finding the second trimester a breeze compared with the first. Guess some of you will be hearing for third really soon 💛

@@MyEasterEggs I'm feeling the same way. So sore! Pregnancy yoga is helping a bit but I'm not really sleeping at all anymore. Apparently a chiropractor is good so that's my next step.

My husband and I have separated. It's been a horrible few weeks. It's been brewing for a while. I feel very isolated in this pregnancy, I've felt that way the whole way through this journey tbh. But he keeps saying he wishes we didn't have to do the iVF, he wishes it was natural but those sentiments are so hurtful. He told me he doesn't feel the same way about me and we need time apart so I've been staying with a friend. To be honest I can barely put one foot in front of the other at the min and I've been neglecting myself and this baby. I'm 26 weeks now and I'm finding it hard to stay positive. Anyway, that's what's happening here. Not ideal but there's nothing I can do about it.

SL42smbc · 12/02/2023 06:33

Hey all,

Just a quick update, almost 22 weeks now and all going well.

@chloedancer88 sorry to hear you are having such a hard time, relationship troubles while pregnant is so tough. Try to look after yourself as best you can, you and your baby need to be the priority at the moment. To help with sleep maybe try restavit, my OB and doctor told me to take it each day the whole pregnancy, it helps me get a good sleep, hormones can really affect sleep when pregnant, I think it's been the reason I'm having such an easy pregnancy. I'm not sure if it's over the counter in the UK (I'm actually from Australia and it is over the counter here). Surround yourself with supportive people and lean on them when needed.

MyEasterEggs · 12/02/2023 17:56

@chloedancer88 I’m so sorry things have been hard at home. We all wish the journey to our babies had been easier so citing IVF as one of the reasons for separating must’ve been difficult to hear. Hope you can reach some kind of resolution so you can move forward.

Have you tried magnesium for sleep? It helps with restless legs too. I’m also hoping physio will ease things as I found it helpful with my daughter.

Take good care of yourself. I’m sure you’re doing better than you think under the circumstances 💛

Thanks guys. I've been taking magnesium and using a leg spray too with magnesium but no such luck. I just have a lot going on. It's been a month now since the separation and I'm just struggling so much. This pregnancy has been so wanted for so long and now it's just passing me by. I'm trying to get some positivity back and my friends are helping too. Hope you're all doing well x

OrangeBengal · 18/03/2023 22:43

Hey guys, it’s been awhile, how is everyone doing? I’m 24+2 today and there have definitely been a fair few ups and downs, there was a real risk of me getting my cervix stitched and then of gestational diabetes! The first I narrowly avoided by using more progesterone (I’d dropped down to 400mg, but then went back to 800mg) and with GD, it’s still a risk I think, so I’ve modified my diet, thankfully my consultant isn’t too concerned at the moment though. The new thing is a weak pelvic floor, I’ve sneezed / coughed / gaged in the last few days and a bit of wee has come out, so I’m super on the pelvic floor exercises now. Let me know how you’re all doing and where you’re up to.
