Just as the post says... cycle day 1 of my first IVF round, 20 days until I start Norethisterone then Menopur & Fyremadel.
Looking for others starting cycle or in the cycle for some company.

Morning all! I started spotting a little this morning, and I know that can be fine but I usually spot a few days before my period. Im not ruling it out but just I’m just being realistic now and not getting my hopes up too high.

@Imisscoffee2021 i had my transfer last Wednesday so I think I’m 5 days past now. There was a tiny bit sat night too, nothing yesterday then a tiny bit this morning. I hope it is implantation bleeding too. Just take each day as it comes now!

@1stcycle I wouldn’t worry too much. Another thread I’m on, a couple of girls had spotting around 5/6 days post transfer and ended up with BFPs. So it can be implantation. Do you have any other symptoms?

@1stcycle it isn't at all like my failed cycle bleeding that was 7dpt and then full glow so sounds like it's implantation! Fingers crossed! :)

@Tinkerbell098 yeah I’m trying to be positive, I think it’s cos I usually spot anywhere between a week and a few days before my period just makes me think it’s that. I’ve had cramping on and off since last Friday, but I think that’s the progesterone as seems to come an hour or so after I put a new pessary in. I’ve also had sore boobs but again I’ve had that since starting the progesterone. Other than that not had anything. Have you had any symptoms? Have you been testing daily?

@Imisscoffee2021 thanks really hope it is, fingers crossed. It’s just so hard isn’t it that every symptom can be for period and pregnancy lol

@1stcycle I've actually got zero symptoms since Friday/Saturday. Which makes me wonder if the progesterone is even doing anything. I have tested since transfer to check on the trigger. I'm seeing a VVVVVVV faint line, which my OH think I'm seeing things. So it's probably nothing. Are you going to test?

@Tinkerbell098 I did a test this morning and I’m the same i feel like I can see a faint line and then not again haha! But I feel like I can always make myself see a line! I’ll prob keep testing in the mornings. I’m just so impatient 😂

@1stcycle same, I want to know! have you used a FRER? I've just used some easy@home ones I had, but they should work. I'm tempted to get some FRERs for the next few days.

@Tinkerbell098 yes a FRER one this morning and a cheap early one, the cheap ones I used to test out the trigger so I know they work.

In my experience, FRERs are evil for a false second line. You can actually see the line straight out of the packet these days, it’s terrible. They make me so angry!

I’ve never had a shadow or an evap with easy@Homes so they’re the ones I’ll be getting… if we get to day 5 that is!

Just a general question - how long would you expect the trigger to be around? It's been 11.5 days since the shot. Just thinking can it still be lingering around? I'm just so impatient. I think I might test every morning from now on!

@Tinkerbell098 I was testing faint positives that got darker after 5dpt, so my trigger hadnt had a chance to fade 100%, for a couple of days before they faded. I didn't test afterwards but did a test recently by accident as I was testing LH and it was starkly negative so the lines were clearly real! I think it should be out by now, they say up to 14 days but if you look at many womens line progression for testing out the trigger it's usually much earlier. Hope your squinter progresses into a blazing BFP!

@Imisscoffee2021 all these chemicals and triggers take the excitement out of seeing that second line don't they? it's such a cruel world!

@Tinkerbell098 I think mine was a very tentative early chemical, it was gutting seeing it darken and then start bleeding so knowing it would go away, but I've never even got to that stage naturally before so hopeful for next! Let's hope this one is making a home for you, fingers crossed!

@Imisscoffee2021 I'm keeping everything crossed for your transfer. It's great you've got a few frosties and can start soon. Any update on start dates?

@Tinkerbell098 should be 8th October to begin taking oestrogen and then looking at the weekend of 29th October for a transfer, I hope so anyway as I have a train booked to visit family on 31st so hope it isn't delayed! I'll have to cancel the train though, everything stops for a transfer!

@Imisscoffee2021 thats pretty soon! That’s really exciting 😃. I didn’t realise you’d need medication for about three weeks. At least it’s pills and not jabs.

If I don’t get a phone call this morning, it means I’m going ahead with a day 3 transfer this afternoon.

If I do get a phone call this morning, it means they’re going to book me in for a day 5 on Thursday.

Assuming they call, what questions do I need to ask apart from their grading and number of cells?

I’d assume that all four must have survived and be looking good for them to be happy with a day 5 transfer. If only two or three remain in the race, should I push for a transfer today?

@Decaffe exciting that EC might be today! With regards to grading I don’t think they do that on day 3, it’s just the number of cells. They want 6-8 cells on day 3 I think.

What time is it booked in for today?

I had no more spotting yesterday then some when I wiped this morning, but it was a red today, and pink/brown yesterday. I’ve not given up all hope, but this happens to me every period so just feels like it’s my period coming.

@Decaffe Good luck for today! When they rang on day three, they didn't give me a grading, just said how many cells there were and the potential to survive until Day 5. You could push for day 3 if there are only 2. 3 or more and if they reckon they'll survive (usually they can tell at this point with how they're dividing and how much fragmentation there is), got with day 5. I think there is good evidence for it working with either day 3 or 5 so it's a judgement call by the embryologist. Good luck! Will be thinking of you X
I'm still seeing a line on tests, albeit VVVVV faint. So I'm still unsure if it's the trigger lingering around or not. Three more days to go for OTD!!! I'm having to use the test they've given, but not sure what the sensitivity of it is. Hope it will pick it up on Friday X

@1stcycle I have everything crossed for you that it is not AF!! When would you be due on a normal cycle? Isn't it too early yet?

@Tinkerbell098 fingers crossed the line gets darker for you. I was told I had to do a clear blue one, didn’t get one from them.

if it was a normal cycle I would have been due today as my cycle is 25 days. But as “ovulation” was EC day few days later than my normal ovulation then I think I would be due on Thursday. But this happens every month, I always spot up to a week before my period so it’s not unusual to have spotting now. I really hope it’s just early pregnancy spotting, but I’m just being realistic at the mo so I don’t get my hopes up too high, then if it has worked amazing and I’ll be so happy and if not at least I’m prepared.

To be honest, I don’t think my clinic’s system is the best at this point. If I don’t get a phone call this morning, it means my Day 3 transfer will go ahead this afternoon. But actually, if I do need to transfer today, I think I (and all women!) should get a phone call anyway. If it’s come to the point of a day 3 then I’d like to know why - what’s happened - how many have arrested - how many are left. Is it that the remaining one/s are good quality but there’s only one or two of them so they don’t want to take the chance, or is it/are they all poor quality? Do we need a conversation in that case about putting two in? If there are any remaining then what’s the plan for them in terms of freezing? At what time do I need to stop hovering by the phone and assuming it’s happening?!

I would like to discuss and process all this in advance of turning up to the clinic.

Do other clinics have this policy?
