Hi ladies! 👋
Just as the post says... cycle day 1 of my first IVF round, 20 days until I start Norethisterone then Menopur & Fyremadel.
Looking for others starting cycle or in the cycle for some company.
Sending lots of luck to you all! ❤️

@Imisscoffee2021 awww that's amazing it must have felt so lovely to see everything is as it should be! So excited for you! I feel like I can say congratulations now and you can relax a little!

Scan went well. 16 follicles ranging from 6mm to 22mm. They are scanning me again Friday and will then trigger either Friday or Saturday night for EC Sunday/Monday. They seem to be pushing for Monday but I would rather Sunday do we'll see what happens. Feel pretty rough with the meds this time so just counting down the days to get them over with. I can't even put my finger on what it is I just feel tired, headachy, bloated, bad stomach, dizzy, etc - just run down generally. Definitely notice a difference between 150ml and 225ml of menopur lol

Imisscoffee2021 · 16/11/2022 17:27

@seekingbabyk what a fab result though follicle wise! You're being such a trooper going into another full cycle so soon after first, IVFers really are warriors, and so often doing it on the down low, hiding our horrible symptoms!

I was on 300 menopur so know the feelings, felt so so bloated and miserable in the end, I was so bloated on transfer day, pacing the room waiting to go in feeling like I might explode! I've still got a box of it in the fridge, not sure why I never took it out 😅 have you read up on what it's made of? When I found out it was urine from post menopausal women I felt a bit like I was mixing a witches brew to make a baby, such a wierd ingredient! My husband didn't believe me at first.

Hope you get the Sunday collection date, and lots of lovely eggs from those follicles!

seekingbabyk · 16/11/2022 18:09

@Imisscoffee2021 omg I definitely did not know that and I feel like injecting it in a few hours I'm going to feel completely differently lmao!! Bloody stings this time too towards the end!

Yes it's definitely hard going especially as no one knows and we have a lot going on this week but really I just feel like there will never be a "right time" and just want to be in a position where we have a few frozen. We are all warriors though and I think we should all be in awe of ourselves for going through this.

What will happen with your multi cycle other rounds now? Do you get refunded for the one/two you didn't use?

Imisscoffee2021 · 16/11/2022 18:49

@seekingbabyk hopefully everything goes well with this fella on board and I won't need to use another cycle, we only wanted one so for now just being grateful for this one, but if all goes well we may revisit the other frozen fellas (still have 4 on ice) in future for a sibling...but feels like a huge jinx to even think that!

The other cycle expires in 3 years so doubt we'd use it so you lose it, which is such a shame as it'd be so nice to be able to donate it like a pay it forward or something to someone in a one nhs cycle Borough , especially as the clinic is on doorstep to London which is a one cycle Borough, so someone could easily use it. But it just expires unfortunately. Its not worked out as any different though price wise as if we hadn't done multicycle, we would have paid £2400 for the latest FET transfer which would have come to same price anyway, so was totally worth it for us. Do your clinic know you plan to batch now? Hopefully by Feb you'll have your frozen embryos and can start transferring, I found frozen so much easier than fresh.

seekingbabyk · 16/11/2022 21:48

@Imisscoffee2021 awwww I really hope you don't need it too - I'm sure everything will be fine for you this time. It's lovely you would like to pay it forward but yes with your other transfer you're right you would have paid.

I'm not sure when our next one will be. After the first one went so smoothly I thought it would be easy but definitely been harder this time so might give it a few months. All depends on results really but I feel like I need to heal a bit before anything else. Our last round needs to be used within a year and unlimited transfers in that time too. We have up to august so plenty of time.

Definitely going for a FET next time - I think it's better to go in without the trauma of EC, meds, etc.

Hubby now calling menopur "granny pee" after I told him what you said earlier!

Tinkerbell098 · 17/11/2022 09:57

@seekingbabyk I was on 300 menopur which they reduced down to 225 and I was so bloated. That's a great number of follicles. Hope you can trigger tomorrow to collect on Sunday. How many days of stims would that be?

@Imisscoffee2021 amazing you got to see all that on a scan! You must be so relieved! Haha I had heard about menopur. Wasn't it purified from menopausal nuns?

myivfprescriptions.wordpress.com/2019/04/28/like-menopur-thank-a-nun/

Imisscoffee2021 · 17/11/2022 10:01

@Tinkerbell098 yea! The original inventor got the pope himself behind it and he then had catholic nuns begin to give their urine for it to be processed, fascinating read! Amazing what science has done to make having children possible when here's a few hurdles!

seekingbabyk · 17/11/2022 10:05

Omg @Tinkerbell098 and @Imisscoffee2021 300 i can't even imagine how crap you both must have felt on that. To be honest I had a peak of feeling rough and it seems to be a bit better now but still counting down the minutes to this being done!

I started last Wednesday so today is day 8. Last round it was 11 days from first jab to EC so might be the same or a day either side. Cannot wait for that amazing feeling when you do the trigger and there's no more jabs. It's not that they're that bad but just you know your bit is done, it's nearly over and you have nothing you have to be home for :)

Tinkerbell098 · 17/11/2022 11:51

My LH strips are getting darker, still not positive, but going in the right direction I guess. Hopefully my cycles will be ok, it's day 18 now, I usually ovulate around day 14/15. I guess my hCG didn't really fall to nothing until a week after the bleed, so it is expected I'd ovulate later than normal. Hope I can still get my FET next month, but seems like transfer date maybe too close to Christmas shutdown due to longer cycles, so may not happen. I'll consider it a bonus if it does.

Tinkerbell098 · 17/11/2022 11:55

@seekingbabyk yes, it was a lot better when they dropped it down to 225, but still wasn't comfortable. I never used to wear leggings, but had to force myself to go get some after that week. Not long to go now and you can take a nice break X

@Imisscoffee2021 I know!! I'm in awe of IVF, it's great how so many couples have been able to have a child because of it. Hope I will also be one of the lucky ones soon.

seekingbabyk · 17/11/2022 11:57

@Tinkerbell098 you'll get there just keep pushing through! Yes leggings are my best friend at the moment. That's just for leaving the house though - at home huge pj bottoms seem more comfy!

Tinkerbell098 · 17/11/2022 12:43

I've heard from the clinic just now and they have asked me to come collect the medication on Monday. They said if I get my period before the 4th December, they can do the FET, so now just need my body to play ball.

seekingbabyk · 17/11/2022 12:51

@Tinkerbell098 yay that's great news!! When is AF due?

Tinkerbell098 · 17/11/2022 13:17

@seekingbabyk I don't know yet as I haven't even ovulated yet. Think it will be a longer cycle than usual. I bled on the 31st Oct after the MC, but still had hCG in my system up to a week later, so I'm assuming it will perhaps be a 5 week cycle. Usually AF comes after 12-13 days after O, so hoping I'll ovulate in the next 2-3 days (CD 18 at the moment and still no LH peak).

Imisscoffee2021 · 17/11/2022 15:38

Ugh, one day so positive and the next not, just went to the loo and had worst spotting yet, it had all gone away since in airport last week but just wiped and had loads of fresh red blood, unmistakably fresh and bright red :( freaked out and put extra pessaries in so not sure if it's still happening but totally freaked out now :( does look good, this is about the time the body would recognise a none developing fetus, and we were always on high alert for a MC due to hubby's semen parameters, chromosomal issues etc. Had no warning like cramling either just a gush of blood, horrible thing to see. Sorry for negative post just need to share :(

seekingbabyk · 17/11/2022 15:42

@Imisscoffee2021 oh no I'm so sorry that just happened! I can only imagine that gut turning feeling. It's weird there was no cramping or anything though. Let's hope it's nothing major and just pessary irritation or something. Your scan is next week isn't it? Are you ok? Sending a huge hug x

Imisscoffee2021 · 17/11/2022 15:52

@seekingbabyk I had very mild cramping last few days but thought all was well with having the scan yesterday and seeing everything in the right place. Had strong symtpoms today, woke up nauseous and felt like I needed to be sick, banging headache etc. Felt like I've had a hangover all day! Cervix felt low and hard which I feel doesn't bode well either, such a head fuck this whole thing! The clinic said just to wait and see and call them tomorrow if there's anymore blood, and I'm going to stay in bed for the rest of the day and ride it out, feeling exhausted from the mental gymnastics of it all xx

seekingbabyk · 17/11/2022 16:08

@Imisscoffee2021 I really feel for you honestly it's heartbreaking to go from such a high to that. Yes definitely take it easy and see what happens. There are lots of people who bleed in early pregnancy, even have normal cycles the whole way through so try not to think the worst at the moment. It would be weird for your symptoms to be getting stronger like the nausea, etc if nothing is happening. It's definitely a rollercoaster this journey but we are all here if you want a chat x

Tinkerbell098 · 17/11/2022 17:03

@Imisscoffee2021 oh I'm really sorry to hear this is happening but as seekingbaby said, bleeding can be normal, and you're on extra hormones too which can irritate your cervix and cause all sorts of bleeding. I have everything crossed for you. Would it be worth ringing EPU to see what they say? if you explain the MC risk as well, they may see you ASAP?

Imisscoffee2021 · 17/11/2022 17:09

@Tinkerbell098 I think I need to go through gp and its been a struggle getting through this week, they told me to just self refrr to maternity unit in the end! I'll see how I go tonight and see what happens in the morning. Xxx

Tinkerbell098 · 17/11/2022 17:11

@Imisscoffee2021 i think ours say that too but when I went there, there were loads of girls who had just walked in and they were trying their best to fit them in/ get them early appointments. So might be worth either ringing for advice or walking in if you’re very worried. My GP is rubbish so I always try to bypass them if I can. Hope the bleeding’s stopped now.

Imisscoffee2021 · 18/11/2022 09:22

@Tinkerbell098 I've got a scan booked on Saturday now but tbh I'm not holding out much hope, I haven't had any more fresh blood, just a little residue of pink and then brown as its oxidised but I did a FRER this morning and where a few days ago I had such a strong dye stealer that you could barely see the co trol line, this morning the control line is definitely a bit darker. I'm got some mild cramping too, honestly it's been worse than a two week wait this 2 weeks since finding out i was pregnant. So many ups and downs:( starting to recalibrate my expectations and think about what next, but hard to be excited about a transfer again when two top quality blastocysts have either not implanted or implanted and then failed before 6 weeks, its what we were scared of when starting IVF, the potential for dna damaged sperm and chromosomally abnormal embryos etc. Sorry for a doom and gloom post! Sods law christmas is coming up too, was imagining being almost 12 weeks at Xmas, ah well! They don't call us warriors for nothing xx

seekingbabyk · 18/11/2022 09:29

@Imisscoffee2021 don't write anything off yet though. I do understand you are protecting yourself as we all would but until a doctor or nurse actually says it's over try to stay positive. It's good there's no more fresh blood today. What time is your scan tomorrow? Will they be able to tell much from that? Keep us updated- I am keeping everything crossed for you xxx

Just about to leave to go for my scan - please all send positive trigger thoughts my way - I'm really really really fed up now and just want this done. Also scared a divorce is on the cards if my mood swings carry on like this! (Why are they so annoying though?!?!?) lol!

Imisscoffee2021 · 18/11/2022 09:32

@seekingbabyk got everything crossed for you! Hope this is trigger day and you can get some lovely eggs on Sunday or Monday! Xxxx

Tinkerbell098 · 18/11/2022 10:36

@Imisscoffee2021 aww I know the feeling, I miscarried at 6 weeks and it just felt like someone was teasing me. I was hoping to tell family at Christmas and it was taken away from me. But please don't lose hope yet. I have everything crossed for you for tomorrow's scan. It's good that the bleeding has stopped. Mild cramping is fine. I had really bad cramps one night that was unbearable, I think that was the day I miscarried as I knew something was wrong and that pain can't be normal. It wasn't just mild cramping, I had never felt pain like that before, not even with heavy AF. So please stay positive. You are so brave. We are all warriors and should be proud of that. Keeping everything crossed for you X

@seekingbabyk all the best for the scan today and really hope it's trigger day for you today. Just hang on in there, it's almost done now and you can rest X
