Hi ladies! 👋
Just as the post says... cycle day 1 of my first IVF round, 20 days until I start Norethisterone then Menopur & Fyremadel.
Looking for others starting cycle or in the cycle for some company.
Sending lots of luck to you all! ❤️

@Decaffe not sure if it's late, but I have replied to your thread. Thinking about you X

Decaffe · 04/10/2022 10:32

I managed to speak to DH at work. We feel there’s probably a significant chance we might end up with zero on Day 5 if we wait, and that would be awful after all we’ve been through. So we’re going ahead with the eight cell grade 1 this afternoon and will wait and see what the other two do.

I know I was astonished they couldn’t provide advice. I asked about the possibility of a double transfer of the two good ones and she said that I would need to speak with the consultant about that. And I was like, yes, so, can I speak to a consultant?!

I don’t really think double transfer at our first shot is the way to go. I just wanted to explore all the possibilities.

Gosh I’m in a right pickle as there was a report for work that I really needed to get done this afternoon! 😂

Tinkerbell098 · 04/10/2022 11:13

@Decaffe I think I'd do the same in your situation. What time is the transfer? Hope you can get off work. All the best X

Tinkerbell098 · 04/10/2022 11:17

@1stcycle hope it is just early spotting and not AF. When is your clinic's test day? The test they've given me is so strange. It looks like a covid test kit almost where you have to pipette urine on to a cassette. Not seen anything like it! Hope I won't F* it up on the day!

Decaffe · 04/10/2022 11:33

It’s 1:30. I’m feeling pretty glum to be honest. Low numbers to begin with then all this attrition, no wonder we didn’t get pregnant naturally. I am astonished, truly astonished, how anyone actually does so. Then I think of all the billions of people in the world and it makes me feel utterly useless!

Imisscoffee2021 · 04/10/2022 11:42

@Decaffe so sorry your clinic has left this decision entirely to you with no advice from them! It's almost like they're trying to cover themselves from any responsibility!
Try and be positive if you can, I know its an awful way to start transfer day but you never know, lots of people have gotten their baby after a day 3, and low AMH with only one embryo etc. By the end of today you'll be pregnant until proven otherwise :) xx

1stcycle · 04/10/2022 12:04

@Decaffe sorry they put the decision on you with little advice. I would be the same and not know what to do. We only had 3 fertilised and on day 3 one was 7 cell one 6 and one 5. But they never mentioned or discussed a 3 day was always 5, not sure why. I had my hatching blastocyst on day 5 and the other two they left for another day but unfortunately couldn’t freeze. So I think you are right in having the one now as with low numbers you never know if one will even make it. Fingers crossed all goes well for you.

@Tinkerbell098 my OTD is 9th not sure why a couple of days later beings we had EC and transfer it the same day.

Tinkerbell098 · 04/10/2022 12:37

@Decaffe good luck! Will be thinking of you! You are making the right decision. Stay positive X

@1stcycle it's prob a clinic thing. I thought 7th would be too early, but hey ho!

seekingbabyk · 04/10/2022 13:39

@Decaffe sorry I have only just caught up on this and you're actually in there having transfer now! Keeping everything crossed for you xx

Decaffe · 04/10/2022 14:30

Embryo on board!

(there’s a sentence I didn’t think I’d be saying today!)

Tinkerbell098 · 04/10/2022 14:35

@Decaffe woo! Welcome to the PUPO club! Hope you've planned a nice relaxing couple of days :)

1stcycle · 04/10/2022 14:45

@Decaffe amazing! How do you feel? It’s such a surreal feeling isn’t it.

Imisscoffee2021 · 04/10/2022 14:52

@Decaffe congratulations! Enjoy this next stage, and lots of well wishes to your other two embryos to keep growing, fingers crossed for some frosties!

Decaffe · 05/10/2022 09:09

Morning all, just checking in…

Thanks for all your good wishes. 😊

When I got home I needed to finish off some work so I logged on and had an arsey email from my manager saying that in future I needed to give her 1-2 days’ notice that I wouldn’t be able to make a meeting! I replied to say I didn’t know myself that I would be going to the clinic until three hours prior! It really upset me because not only does she know that I’m doing IVF but I actually think she has looked into it herself due to something she said*, so I thought it was really insensitive.

Because the email had made me stressed out I then proceeded to get worried that the stress had already affected the embryo and it would have arrested 😔 I know it’s hugely, massively unlikely but it was stress I didn’t need.

Really, the transfer day from start to finish was not the day I had expected or would have liked. The transfer itself was absolutely fine but really the day was full of stress and worry from the very first phone call. 😔

Going to take it easy today but the irrational part of my brain is thinking “what’s the point?” Sorry for being so glum! I will snap out of it soon!

*When I told her I would be doing IVF, she asked had I considered going abroad for it as the NHS clinics aren’t very good. Hmm Cheers for that…

Decaffe · 05/10/2022 09:13

@1stcycle I get spotting for days before my period too. I would hope that as your progesterone is being supplemented that what you’re seeing is from implantation, I have everything crossed for you. The end stages of the waiting are so hard!

@Tinkerbell098 I am continuing to test out my trigger and it was still quite strong today. Mine you I suppose I only triggered six days ago and they say it can be in your system for ten!

@Imisscoffee2021 thank you for your encouragement 😊

seekingbabyk · 05/10/2022 09:27

@Decaffe oh I'm so sorry! What an absolute idiot of a woman! Some people get a kick out of authority and maybe there's jealousy there too. But you are letting her have the effect she wanted in you so try to draw a line now and let her be a nasty cow and you can focus on the positive stuff happening.

I don't think that would have any effect at all - it wouldn't even have attached yet. But if you keep replaying it, you will end up really stressed out which isn't good.

I wrote a list of things I could do during the whole ivf cycle when I needed relaxing or cheering up and it really helped so would recommend that. Things like a puzzle, ordering a Nando's to be delivered, booking a weekend away for after TWW to either celebrate or regroup, walk in the woods, start a series/movie, go to a restaurant I wanted to try, etc. just try to keep positive and have happy positive things going on around you. Apparently laughing a lot can help 🤷🏼‍♀️

It's so much stress on us women isn't it. You feel the pressure to produce the eggs, have a good lining, implantation, eating really well, sleeping and drinking enough, and all whilst still being a great employee/wife/friend to everyone else. I just let myself have a little cry when I needed it and always felt better after. You have to give yourself a huge pat on the back for everything you've got through, especially with yesterday being stressful!

Although tbh none of our non-stressful transfers have worked so maybe you'll have more luck with something different x

1stcycle · 05/10/2022 11:33

@Decaffe im so sorry your work was like that with you. They should understand it’s a stressful time and that you would need time off at short notice.
i haven’t told my work, luckily I managed to book “doctor appointments” for some scans and some happened to be on a Friday which I finish work early then. I also managed booked the day off for EC at short notice. I’m sure they are thinking I’ve had a few doctor appointments recently, but they are not allowed to ask what for!

how are you feeling today?

I haven’t had any spotting now last couple days but I’ve had cramps and I’m feeling run down, which always do just before AF arrives. Tests look negative too, although I know it’s still early and only 7dp5dt but hoped I would have a faint line.

@Tinkerbell098 how are you doing? Your faint line getting darker?

Tinkerbell098 · 05/10/2022 12:25

@Decaffe I'm so sorry work is being rubbish to you, especially since they know you're going through IVF. All you can do is ignore her and focus on what's positive in your life, having your lovely embaby inside you. Try and relax a little bit and treat yourself to things you like. I really don't think the stress of one day would have any impact on implantation. Hope you can take some time off if not if that helps X

@1stcycle Glad the spotting has stopped for now, I have everything crossed it won't turn into AF. My tests are still faint, so it's definitely still too early to tell. You still have a while to go yet until OTD. My clinic has said if it's negative on Friday, they would run bloods the same day, which suggests HPT are prob not that sensitive to pick it up this early. Sending you all the luck X

1stcycle · 06/10/2022 10:08

@Decaffe how are you feeling today? Hope everything was sorted in work and they are being more sensitive about it!

@Tinkerbell098 OTD eve for you! Ahh that’s good they will follow up with a blood test. My clinic called yest checking everything was ok, I mentioned the spotting and they asked what colour etc but said it can be common and that no matter the outcome of test on Sunday to still keep taking the progesterone until I call them Monday and they instruct otherwise. Last two days my boobs have not been as sore either, and started to get a little irritable which always happens just before AF so I feel like my AF is dying to come and the progesterone is just holding it off! But I’m still living in hope!

Tinkerbell098 · 06/10/2022 10:23

@1stcycle OTD eve indeed! My boobs have not been sore since Friday last week, whereas on a normal cycle, they would be until maybe 2 days before AF turns up. It's really strange that even taking cyclogest hasn't caused any progesterone side effects. It's great your clinic is checking on you, mine hasn't. Also I would run out of cyclogest tomorrow as they only gave right up to test day and said they'd top up if it's positive. That's added stress for me as well especially as I'm away for the weekend, which means I'd need it tomorrow. I'm still getting faint lines, but they're not screaming BFPs, so unsure what to say tomorrow when I do use their test. Go with a faint line is still a positive? I think they said they'll run bloods the week after if it's positive, so they can confirm. Yes, I have also read that spotting is normal after IVF transfer and when on cyclogest, so I wouldn't worry too much. There is still time for OTD. Good luck X

1stcycle · 06/10/2022 10:32

@Tinkerbell098 that is annoying about the progesterone, I had 3 weeks worth when I bought all my meds so it would take me till next Friday. But on transfer day they also gave me a prescription for another 3 weeks as said If pregnant I will be taking them until 12 weeks! but I have not had a chance to get that yet, I was going to wait till after Sunday as I don’t want to pay for them if not needed. I would go with the faint positive and just tell them, the blood test should be able to confirm and hopefully they will give you progesterone for the meantime. How long does a blood test take to come back? Ahh lovely that you are going away, we were thinking of doing something to try and take our minds off it! Fingers crossed for a BFP for you tomorrow!!

MinBins · 06/10/2022 10:58

I receive my meds tomorrow and begin my first cycle on Sunday - I'm so nervous. We've been trying two years with one MC.

I'm reassured reading comments on here that I'm not going through it alone.

Imisscoffee2021 · 06/10/2022 12:11

@Tinkerbell098 A line is a line, and a faint positive is a faint positive! What tests are you using at the moment before your clinic one? Got my fingers crossed for a BFP for you!

@MinBins Welcome! It's nerve wracking isn't it, but it feels amazing to begin taking some control when you start your meds, really feels like you're actively doing something instead of every month being a lucky chance and a mystery! So sorry you've experienced a MC, hopefully positive outcomes for you this time :) What protocol are you on?
