Hi ladies! 👋
Just as the post says... cycle day 1 of my first IVF round, 20 days until I start Norethisterone then Menopur & Fyremadel.
Looking for others starting cycle or in the cycle for some company.
Sending lots of luck to you all! ❤️

@Spin101 I work in a busy place, very busy in summer hols so I couldn't avoid people, but I made sure I was extra rigorous about washing if it'd touched something.
I'm on 4000 per day for vit D and have ordered a finger prick test to gauge my levels, I have some 1000s I could take otherwise if its too high :)
My postcode we get 2 rounds but just next CCG over the river, literally 5 mins away as its London, you only get 1! Luckily my CCG allows you to do private without losing an NHS place too, some don't which seems really harsh! Hoping I don't have to use the NHS rounds as that would mean 6 failed transfers plus another round as we've paid for 2 private, just hope one of the frosties sticks 🤞

Tinkerbell098 · 01/10/2022 07:55

@Spin101 i didn’t avoid as such, was just cautious. I went swimming and got on with my daily routine. I work from home so didn’t have much exposure to people during the day anyway. I’d say keep up the yoga as it’ll benefit your mental health but just take precautions. Good luck X

Morning all, I’m on the way to egg collection at 9:30. Compared to yesterday, my boobs aren’t sore, I don’t feel bloated, I don’t feel uncomfortable, and I’m getting little twinges… hoping this doesn’t mean the worst! 😬

Tinkerbell098 · 01/10/2022 08:06

@Decaffe good luck for today!! Will be thinking of you. Enjoy the sleep and the tea and biscuits after! Symptom spotting is the worst! I have zero symptoms today so the worry never ends! Did you test out the trigger?

1stcycle · 01/10/2022 09:04

@Decaffe good luck today! Enjoy your nap and hope all goes well.

@Tinkerbell098 how are you feeling today? This waiting is killing me already! I’m out for a friends birthday today only for a few hours but the pretending to drink is already on my mind. I just know everyone comments anytime I don’t have a drink, even when I’m driving or trying to diet it’s like oooo are you pregnant, and inside I’m like if only you knew how much I’d love to be right now!

seekingbabyk · 01/10/2022 09:10

@Decaffe good luck today!

@1stcycle @Tinkerbell098 if you are interested there is quite a bug account on Instagram called @ivf_denisejohnson and she did a big poll with lots of questions about the TWW and symptoms and whether that resulted in a positive and has just put all the answers up. 47% of people had no symptoms and got a positive. Definitely worth a look to ease your minds xx

@Imisscoffee2021 excited for you to start your next lot of meds - when are you likely to be having your FET? I have everything crossed for you x

Decaffe · 01/10/2022 09:29

Thanks all, just waiting to go in, there is at least a half hour delay I’ve been told… Hmm

I tested yesterday out of interest and got the attached, but didn’t get chance to test this morning. I will do daily though, as I’m interested!

@Decaffe hope it’s not a long wait. Those lines look similar to what I had say after trigger. Mine has completely disappeared today. Had a vvvv faint line yesterday although OH didn’t agree.

@seekingbabyk thanks for that. I’ll check out the insta account.

@1stcycle yes agree that the TWW is the worst! All my symptoms have completely disappeared now. How are you? Are you still bloated?Have fun at the party and hope you won’t get asked too many questions.

1stcycle · 01/10/2022 09:50

@seekingbabyk thanks, just took a look and made me feel a bit better.

@Tinkerbell098 my boobs are still very sore, but imagine that’s the progesterone. I’m always bloated because on IBS lol other than that nothing. My tests were negative from the day after transfer I haven’t tested since but knowing me I probably will in a few days!

Imisscoffee2021 · 01/10/2022 10:09

I so hope you get your BFP ladies! Hopefully start a lucky streak in this thread for our next transfers/cycles!

@seekingbabyk I should start on 8th if my next period is on time, oestrogen pills first. They sent me progesterone pessaries again but I'm going to email the consultant and ask about injections as I bled a few days before usual period date and 7 days post transfer last cycle so they clearly weren't enough for me! I worry that's what made the last cycle fail so I'm going to push hard this time! Whens your next cycle due to start, do you know yet?

@Decaffe best of luck in egg collection today! X

Decaffe · 01/10/2022 10:16

We got five! I’m very happy with that.

Apparently I didn’t sleep but was talking to them all the way through and saying how brilliant they were and asking lots of questions. 😂😂

seekingbabyk · 01/10/2022 10:20

@Decaffe yay that's great news! Really made me laugh about you chatting through it - that's the sort of thing I'd do!

@Imisscoffee2021 our next round won't be until November now. Our debrief with the consultant is 10th october so it'll be interesting to see what he says for the next go! Wow that's great and only a week away too! Yes I would like to do tablets or jabs next time purely because the pessaries were making me a bit sore x

Spin101 · 01/10/2022 11:11

@Imisscoffee2021 fingers crossed for your Frosties to stick!! Is general guidance, only one embryo if under 38?

@Tinkerbell098 thank you. went to yoga this morning and my teacher cleared her throat a few times and one of the students blew their nose at the start of the class. I get so paranoid 🙈 I think I might start practicing more at home for the next few weeks.

@Decaffe I hope EC went well this morning!!

@1stcycle could you do ‘dry October’ seeing as it’s the 1st today? Or make up a story about not feeling too good when you had a drink and drove last time? I hate the peer pressure. I stopped drinking during covid. I’ve had a few drinks here and there when I’ve felt like it but tell everyone I don’t drink anymore.

Tinkerbell098 · 01/10/2022 12:05

@Decaffe yey! Five’s a good number! Good luck for the update call X

Decaffe · 01/10/2022 12:26

The anaesthetist came round after and said that I’d had “quite a lot” of anaesthetic and that normally that amount would put someone to sleep! God knows what nonsense I was coming out with 😂

Just got home and we’ve had a call from the embryologist to say that DH’s sperm is good so they’ll be popping it all in a petri dish and we’ll get a call tomorrow between 9-11am.

Interestingly, she said that if on day 3 the embryos are ‘average’ then they will do a day 3 transfer but if they are very good then they’ll wait until day 5. I don’t think I’ve seen many people on this board have a day 3 transfer.

I need to catch up on the posts properly but I think ‘dry October’ is an excellent idea @1stcycle @Spin101!

seekingbabyk · 01/10/2022 12:39

@Decaffe have a lovely day taking it easy today - hopefully you won't have too much pain or anything and let us know how you get on tomorrow. Keeping everything crossed for you x

Tinkerbell098 · 01/10/2022 16:10

@Decaffe i was told the same by my clinic regarding day 3 vs day 5. If they’re not sure they’ll make it to day 5, they’ll transfer at day 3. Have a relaxing day and hope you’re not in too much pain.

Spin101 · 01/10/2022 19:41

@Decaffe glad to hear they collected 5!! Hope you managed to rest today. It’s crazy you didn’t fall asleep during GA! I’m sure you entertained everyone in theatre 😆

1stcycle · 02/10/2022 07:22

Morning all! luckily there were lots of non alcoholic versions of drinks yesterday that looked exactly like alcohol versions like aperol spritz and mocktails, we made an excuse not to go in rounds so then hubby could order the non alcohol versions for me so don’t think anyone noticed. Not that it really matters it’s just easier when people not asking or commenting on it. @Spin101 i might use dry October from now though!

@Decaffe im glad it all went well and 5 is great. Hope for great news this morning for you!

Decaffe · 02/10/2022 09:28

Morning all. I didn’t sleep well last night and have been awake since 6! Then I managed to miss the phone call!

Thankfully they’ve just called back. Four fertilised normally. The fifth also fertilised… but with two sperm! So it has three nuclei (I think) and hence is abnormal.

So, four in the running. I have a provisional day 3 PM transfer booked for if they’re looking ropy day 3 AM. But if they’re looking ok day 3 AM then they’ll call me and we’ll do it on day 5.

Decaffe · 02/10/2022 09:36

Apparently two sperm fertilising one egg is rare and happens in 1% of cases. It’s funny the lotteries we win in life, isn’t it… 😆🤔🙄

Tinkerbell098 · 02/10/2022 10:41

@Decaffe i think I couldn’t sleep the day of the collection either. I was very anxious. Yey for four being fertilised that’s amazing! Oh wow! 1% chance? That’s crazy but glad you’ve got four good ones. How are you feeling today?

Decaffe · 02/10/2022 11:02

I’m just hoping hoping hoping that one lasts until Thursday!

I’m feeling ok thank you. Just going to take it easy on the sofa while DH is glued to the football! He is very relieved that his apparatus has worked well (some would say too well in some respects HmmGrin)

How’s everyone else doing? When’s our next egg collection coming up?

Spin101 · 02/10/2022 17:41

@Decaffe Really glad to hear you have four fertilised! How crazy that two sperm fertilised the other! Hope you’re feeling rested up.

I have my nurse appt tomorrow so will find out my treatment plan I think.
