Hi ladies! 👋
Just as the post says... cycle day 1 of my first IVF round, 20 days until I start Norethisterone then Menopur & Fyremadel.
Looking for others starting cycle or in the cycle for some company.
Sending lots of luck to you all! ❤️

@seekingbabyk that's good to know. It's day 3 post collection, so hopefully it will go down a bit from now. Haven't been drinking much actually because I feel so full all the time from the bloat, so maybe I should start drinking more. Thanks!

seekingbabyk · 26/09/2022 13:57

@Tinkerbell098 I know it's really hard but it definitely helps. An ivf account I follow on Instagram actually put a photo up of her 5 month bump vs her progesterone bloat and you honestly couldn't tell the difference 😂

Tinkerbell098 · 26/09/2022 14:03

@seekingbabyk woah! good to know I'm not alone! It is absolutely massive! I've released a good few farts today in the supermarket (sorry!) it's absurd!

seekingbabyk · 26/09/2022 14:10

@Tinkerbell098 yes I think we're all probably guilty of that! 😂😂

1stcycle · 26/09/2022 16:47

Haha I’ve been there too with the wind 😂 but at least we have a good excuse haha

Decaffe · 27/09/2022 08:01

Good morning everyone, how are we today? ☕️ 😊 Do we have two transfer days happening tomorrow?

@Tinkerbell098 they said yesterday that egg collection is likely to be Friday. I’ll find out for sure at my next scan tomorrow morning.

Personally I can’t wait to stop these morning Cetrotide injections!

Tinkerbell098 · 27/09/2022 08:07

@Decaffe good morning! Yep two transfers tomorrow for me and @1stcycle . Great you have a provisional date for EC. Not too long to go. Haha I know what you mean. I was fed up of injections after a week! But now thinking back, I’d rather have those than these annoying pessaries! It never ends! Hope all is worth it in the end!

1stcycle · 27/09/2022 08:42

@Decaffe yes just had the call and booked for 10.30am tomorrow. Exciting that you have your EC Friday! It’s nice the day before when you have no injections to do.

@Tinkerbell098 i felt nausea again this morning when driving into work. It might have been because I took the antibiotic the same time. Last antibiotic tonight though. Do you have a time for your transfer tomorrow now?

Spin101 · 27/09/2022 10:09

Hi there, were any of you on the antagonist protocol? I should be starting my first cycle soon but am concerned I don’t fully understand why I’ve been given this protocol. I have PCOS with high AMH and on the lower end of of BMI. I’d appreciate any guidance. Thank you

1stcycle · 27/09/2022 10:51

@Spin101 I just googled antagonist protocol and as I was not sure what that was but it said it’s short protocol which is the most common one and what most of us here did. I think they just gave you the other name for it so made it sound confusing. It just means less amount of days of stims injections. Good luck on starting soon!

Spin101 · 27/09/2022 11:18

@1stcycle thank you! I think the naming convention does make it really confusing. in my leaflet it says I take two types of injections, the stims and fyremadel to prevent premature ovulation (prior to HCG injection). There is no nasal spray in this protocol to switch off own hormones. Is that in line with the short protocol?

1stcycle · 27/09/2022 11:26

@Spin101 i know there is so much online too it can be so confusing. This thread has been very helpful as can ask people who have been through it.

yes that’s correct, so you usually call the clinic on the first day of your next cycle (if you are planning to do it next cycle) and then they book you in for a baseline scan for day 2/3 to check your lining and as long as it’s thin enough then you start your stims. Mine wasn’t quite thin enough on first scan so I had to go back for another scan and start on day 4. Then you have the stims injections for a certain amount of days (this can vary for person to person) and go for a stims scan to see how you are responding then the fyremadel will begin to prevent ovulation. So then you will be doing both stims and fyremadel a day. I had 2 more scans and then I was ready for trigger shot which was 36 hours before Egg collection. So all together from first injection to trigger shot was 10 days for me. But this varies average is 8-12 I think.

Spin101 · 27/09/2022 11:47

@1stcycle thank you so much!! ❤️ This is so helpful and I really appreciate you taking the time to outline what happened. I feel much better about it already! Hope the cycle went well for you and good luck!!

1stcycle · 27/09/2022 11:49

@Spin101 No problem at all, I was the same asking people in the thread and everyone has be so helpful. Thanks, I have transfer tomorrow so fingers crossed. Hope all goes well with you starting.

Spin101 · 27/09/2022 12:23

@1stcycle it’s nice to know there is a place to talk to others going through something similar. i have my fingers crossed for you for tomorrow!

Spin101 · 27/09/2022 12:33

I did have another questions on vitamins/supplements. I started reading it starts with an egg a few days ago and she recommends lots of supplements. I’m not sure if it’s all a bit too much especially if I’m going to start my cycle quite soon. Wondering if it’s better to focus on de-stressing. I’m currently taking the pregnacare pre conception multivitamin and vitamin d. Any other recommendations?

1stcycle · 27/09/2022 14:01

@Spin101 To be honest the only ones I have been taking are the pregnacare preconception him and her ones too. I’m sure there are probably lots and lots we could be taking, and other might be able to advise better. But I was told by my doctor as long as I had folic acid and vitamin D in them I was fine so thought easier just to get it all in one pill as it gets out of hand!

Tinkerbell098 · 27/09/2022 17:39

@1stcycle how are you feeling about tomorrow? Mine is booked for 9.30 am. Need to go with a full bladder so having to wake up early to keep sipping water for about 2 hours beforehand. Can’t believe transfer day is almost here after months and months of waiting!

@Spin101 welcome to the thread. I’m also on short protocol due to the buserelin shortage at the time I was meant to start. It goes by so quickly. I didn’t find the stims part too bad. Ask away any questions you have. It’s also my first cycle so I was the same a few months back, just getting used to all the terminology and medications etc. regarding supplements, as @1stcycle said, the key ones are Vit D and Folic acid. I’ve also taken CoQ10 on top of that as I’ve hear it can improve egg quality. But who knows!

1stcycle · 27/09/2022 17:49

@Tinkerbell098 the embryologist said to me empty the bladder an hour before then drink a Litre over the next hour….or if that’s too difficult to hold then start a bit later. I guess as long as bladder is full just before it will be fine. I’ll be busting going in now lol I know I can’t believe either that tomorrow is transfer day. Fingers and toes crossed they stick.

will they tell us the grading etc tomorrow then? I still have no idea if the third one has made it or not.

Imisscoffee2021 · 27/09/2022 18:00

@1stcycle @Tinkerbell098 good luck tomorrow!! Will be thinking of you :) my clinic didn't do guided ultrasound transfer which I was surprised at, it seems the dine thing everywhere else? So I had an empty bladder and the consultant just went for it!

seekingbabyk · 27/09/2022 18:01

@Imisscoffee2021 lucky you it was hard work being pushed down on when you need to go!

Good luck both of you - keeping everything crossed for you both x

Spin101 · 27/09/2022 20:39

@1stcycle @Tinkerbell098 thank you. I also ordered some Coenzyme q10 this morning. Might have left it a bit late but no harm in trying i guess.

Good luck to both of you tomorrow for transfer day! Really hope it goes well and your embryos stick!!

Tinkerbell098 · 27/09/2022 20:57

Thanks so much everyone for the well wishes. Really appreciate it ❤️

@1stcycle thanks I’ll follow that to have a full bladder. Hopefully I’ll be comfortable enough. I remember really struggling at one of my early scans as they were late to take me in. Yes I was told they’ll tell me how well the embryos have done and give me a grading. I also have no idea how mine have done since Sunday. They said no news is good news so hoping at least one is good quality tomorrow morning. All the best to you X

Decaffe · 28/09/2022 07:28

Thinking of you both this morning and sending lots of positive energy!! 💕

1stcycle · 28/09/2022 08:11

@seekingbabyk @Decaffe @Imisscoffee2021 and thanks all! It’s my Father in Laws birthday today so hoping this special day brings good news!

@Tinkerbell098 todays the day! Let’s hope we don’t pee ourselves haha! Good luck and then the dreaded 2WW xx
