Hi ladies! 👋
Just as the post says... cycle day 1 of my first IVF round, 20 days until I start Norethisterone then Menopur & Fyremadel.
Looking for others starting cycle or in the cycle for some company.
Sending lots of luck to you all! ❤️

@seekingbabyk thanks for sharing your experience that puts my mind at ease about tomorrow. did you do short protocol? your AMH sounds great, they should have definitely collected more than that. Hope they can tweak the protocol slightly to get a better outcome. Is the second round on NHS funding or did you have to go private?

@Imisscoffee2021 have you been given any dates for the FET yet? Hopefully not too long to go!

Imisscoffee2021 · 22/09/2022 11:11

@Tinkerbell098 should be next period which is 8th Oct but going to track my ovulation this month to gauge it better, not sure if ivf cycle messes that sort of thing up but I'm feeling 100% back to normal, mad I did a cycle last month! I'm doing just estrogen and progesterone, no downregging so should be straightforward, I hope!

Tinkerbell098 · 22/09/2022 11:11

@1stcycle did the clinic tell you if you'll be doing a day 3 or 5 transfer? Apparently for all new cycles, my clinic prefers to do day 3, I think I'd have preferred day5, but I'm no expert!

1stcycle · 22/09/2022 11:19

@Tinkerbell098 no they have not said anything about transfer yet. I just presumed it would be day 5. I thought it went on how the embryos were developing?

1stcycle · 22/09/2022 11:25

@Tinkerbell098 also is day 1 counted as the day of egg retrieval. So if it was 5 days after would that be including tomorrow so say Tuesday would be transfer or is collection plus 5 days so Wednesday?

seekingbabyk · 22/09/2022 11:27

@1stcycle I think retrieval day was day 0 for me. They collected Wednesday and transferred Monday

Tinkerbell098 · 22/09/2022 11:48

@1stcycle yes as @seekingbabyk said, tomorrow is day 0, so day 5 transfer would be Wednesday. So they've said most likely transfer on Monday for new cycles unless you have a load of embryos, then they are willing to take the risk to stay up to day 5.

Decaffe · 23/09/2022 09:58

Morning all! I’ve just had my day 5 scan.

I have six or seven follicles - is this disappointing given my previous AFC scans showed nine and ten?

The lead follicle is 11mm so I am starting Cetrotide tomorrow which I am told should hold that one back while the others catch up.

My lining looks good at 8mm.

I have my next scan on Monday.

I’m just a bit disappointed that I only have six or seven follicles. Given the drop off rate once they’re collected… I just hoped I’d be starting with more.

seekingbabyk · 23/09/2022 10:01

@Decaffe don't worry too much at day 5. I didn't have many then either but they were hiding and they picked them up once they grew a bit! At my day 7 they found them

seekingbabyk · 23/09/2022 10:02

@Tinkerbell098 @1stcycle hope everything went well for you both this morning x

1stcycle · 23/09/2022 10:24

@Decaffe I also had less in my 5 day scan then they found more in later scans. It’s good sometimes knowing but at the same time when they tell you the number it makes you worry and look on internet. But as many people say it only takes one good one!

@seekingbabyk thanks, on way home now. It all went good and and sedation was fine. They collected 9 eggs so some of the follicles must have caught up but the rest were too small. looking forward to getting home and a big cwtch from my dog x

Tinkerbell098 · 23/09/2022 11:21

Hi all, didn’t have the best start. Poor OH bless him, I think was so under pressure he could t produce a sample. He tried second time and produced a teeny bit. So got delayed to come into the clinic because of it ( he was told to produce sample at home). Sedation was fine, had the best sleep! They collected 5, which I was surprised as there were 18 on the first scan and 14 on the second. Obviously all follicles didn’t have eggs so a little disappointing. Won’t know anything about how many were mature/fertilised until tomorrow morning. So it’s just a waiting game now. Really hope we get a few.

seekingbabyk · 23/09/2022 11:55

@Tinkerbell098 at least he got something for them! I think we forget how much pressure is on them as well! I'm glad it went well let's keep everything crossed for all of them fertilising!

@1stcycle glad it all went well! It's definitely quality over quantity- fingers crossed for you!

Imisscoffee2021 · 23/09/2022 12:07

@Tinkerbell098 pressure it huge for the fellas, my husband is prone to being anxious since prepped hard for it 😅 lots of talking through, researching, calming thoughts. 5 is great, I only had 7 after having an AFC of 21 the month before but all mine fertilised and 6 made it to blastocyst so drop off doesn't always happen! @Decaffe I freaked myself out about drop off rates too, having severe male factor, but all ours got to day 5 except one which was a bit slow so wasn't frozen on day 6, but it was still going at day 5! Fingers crossed for your developing embryos ladies!

1stcycle · 24/09/2022 09:11

Just had the call and out of the 9, 5 were mature and 3 fertilised planned transfer for Wednesday. Was hoping that we would have a few more in the running, but pleased we have them 3 xx

Tinkerbell098 · 24/09/2022 09:35

@1stcycle thats great you’ve got 3! Will you get daily update calls? I’m still waiting for my call. How are you feeling today? I’ve done my first cyclogest pessary. Got to do two per day. Did they tell you how many hours to leave in between the two doses?

1stcycle · 24/09/2022 09:40

@Tinkerbell098 they said the next update is Monday. It’s hard not to think about it and want to know more. Hopefully you will get the call soon.
I started my utrogestrone yesterday and just said I needed to take 3 pessaries a day. Didn’t say a time but I just spread them out.
im actually feeling sore for the first time today, I was fine yesterday, but at the moment a bit tender in my tummy so just took some paracetamols. We have a wedding today too so hope it eases up a little! But we will show our faces and leave whenever it gets a bit too much! X

Tinkerbell098 · 24/09/2022 09:50

@1stcycle enjoy the wedding. Hope the paracetamols will help with the pain. Sending lots of love to your three embabies ❤️

1stcycle · 24/09/2022 09:54

@Tinkerbell098 thanks, hopefully it will take my mind off it. How are you feeling today after the procedure yesterday?

seekingbabyk · 24/09/2022 09:57

@1stcycle that's great news that 3 have fertilised! Fingers crossed they all make it to blasts too 🤞🏻

Tinkerbell098 · 24/09/2022 10:37

@1stcycle I'm much better today but still a bit sore. Managing to do bits around the house though. Just had the call and we’ve got 5 little embryos! They will start grading them tomorrow and confirm when transfer day would be. Fingers crossed 🤞

Decaffe · 24/09/2022 13:42

That’s great news @1stcycle and @Tinkerbell098 , well done on getting through EC and getting some fertilised eggs! I have everything crossed for you for the next few days. How are you feeling today? Did you make it to the wedding?!

I started Cetrotide this morning and did it myself! 😬 Got a big raised welt at the injection site like a nettle rash but it went down after a couple of hours.

Everythingcrossed89 · 24/09/2022 16:56

Hello everyone - I’ve been following this thread from the sidelines as been going through my first fresh cycle. Crushingly we found out yesterday that it didn’t work. The sadness is very real but feeling grateful we have some frozen embryos so hoping to do a transfer next cycle. My heart goes out to those of you in the same boat as me, did you get a withdrawal bleed fairly soon after negative test? Are you going for medicated or natural FET? I think we’re going for natural as my cycles are regular and I don’t think one is more successful than the other? So the less hormones the better I feel. X

Tinkerbell098 · 24/09/2022 17:42

@Decaffe thanks and well done for doing the injection by yourself! I was told to use a clean tissue to gently press on to the area for about a minute after removing the needle to avoid bruising. It worked for me and have no scars/ bruises.

@Everythingcrossed89 im so sorry it didn’t work. It must be heartbreaking. I’m glad you’ve got a few frosties and can start soon. Sorry no experience in FETs, it’s my first fresh cycle, but I’m sure someone on here can help. Fingers crossed for you X

Imisscoffee2021 · 24/09/2022 17:53

@Everythingcrossed89 So sorry, I had the same experience last month for my first fresh. Like you I'm very grateful to have some frosties, and going to be doing a FET next month.
I started bleeding after a faint positive that got a bit darker then stalled the day after i started bleeding, a few days before what would have been a normal period and test day. I had a normal period and I ovulated normally this cycle too, today in fact! I was worried my cycles would be off with stim hormones.
I'm doing a medicated one but not a hard-core down regging version, just taking estrogen pills and then progesterone pessaries. I'm pushing for more progesterone this time too and the Dr thinks I should have more after I spotted and bled whilst on progesterone for my fresh cycle from 7dp5dt.
Wierdly only having the one scam, I thought they scanned you loads for a FET to ascertain ovulation but it wasn't mentioned at all by the Dr.
Hope your bleed comes through soon, the cycle not working feels less devastating when you can plan for the next, I found that anyway.
