Hi ladies! 👋
Just as the post says... cycle day 1 of my first IVF round, 20 days until I start Norethisterone then Menopur & Fyremadel.
Looking for others starting cycle or in the cycle for some company.
Sending lots of luck to you all! ❤️

@KateAlva that's amazing I'm sure it's a positive too - finally some success on this thread!!

@Tinkerbell098 fantastic news that's a great number too - so when is your EC? Friday morning? Nice that you get the weekend to recover too! Hoping it all goes amazing for you x

Tinkerbell098 · 21/09/2022 10:42

@seekingbabyk thanks so much! Yes, it would be Friday morning and yes glad I'd have the weekend to chill.

I've just been for a scan this morning and I am triggering tonight ladies!!! There are 6 in the 15-17mm range and 2 in 18-20 mm range and 6 in the 12 and below range, so doubt they'll catch up. Hopefully I will get at least 8 from that lot.

I am no expert but this sounds good to me! Very exciting @Tinkerbell098!

And yes for some lovely good news @KateAlva, congratulations!

I started stims last night, I had to get DH to do it! 😅

Imisscoffee2021 · 21/09/2022 11:34

Fantastic news @Tinkerbell098 ! How are you feeling with all those active follicles?

1stcycle · 21/09/2022 11:38

@Tinkerbell098 I had my 3rd stims scan this morning and also have my trigger shot 9pm tonight for EC Friday morning. There were a few that they hope will grow a little more by Friday so have to take one last stims tonight too. Fingers crossed all will go well for you too x

KateAlva · 21/09/2022 12:02

Tinkerbell098 · 21/09/2022 10:29

@KateAlva doubt the trigger is still in your system. I'd say you are pregnant! Good luck for OTD and hope you get to talk to your clinic soon!

Thanks Tinkerbell 💛 best of luck for trigger and collection!

KateAlva · 21/09/2022 12:03

Thanks all, I'm still in disbelief and have my fingers crossed for all of you ❤️💛

Imisscoffee2021 · 21/09/2022 12:05

@KateAlva congratulations!! If a digital is picking it up its a for sure positive, and you're out of your trigger window! X

Tinkerbell098 · 21/09/2022 14:02

@Decaffe thank you! My DH did all the injections, I just closed my eyes and looked away!

@Imisscoffee2021 not too bad actually! went for some long walks and not feeling too bad at all.

@1stcycle I have now also been asked to take another dose of stims about 4.5 hours before the trigger shot. I found it unusual but I guess it makes sense to get some of the tiny ones to grow a bit more.

seekingbabyk · 21/09/2022 19:49

@1stcycle they asked me to do that too but in the morning so ended up with doses 12 hours apart.

Hubby also did all of my jabs for me - I think he liked being involved too to be honest so we were happy with that.

The few hours up to trigger felt so weird for me because the timing is so important it felt like we were sitting waiting and could t chill until it was done. It's a nice feeling that's the last one of that round though and you can get some normality back! Good luck ladies xx

1stcycle · 21/09/2022 19:54

@seekingbabyk my hubby has done all mine too, was nice him being a part of it. but he had tickets to a gig tonight so I have to do the trigger on my own. Same here I’m just waiting for 9pm, and can’t chill or relax, just want time to go fast so I can get it done!

Tinkerbell098 · 22/09/2022 09:04

@1stcycle yes OH did all mine too and it felt like a team effort in a weird way. How did you find the trigger? I had the final stims around 5.30 and trigger at 10 pm. Woke up this morning panicking thinking I'd need a shot of Fyremadel as well, but calmed myself down saying the nurse didn't mention it and I'm sure the trigger is the last shot you're meant to have. Tested out the trigger this morning with a pregnancy test and for the first time in my life saw the second line! How are you feeling about tomorrow?

1stcycle · 22/09/2022 09:14

@Tinkerbell098 trigger went fine, was nervous doing it as I’d not done any myself yet, a little sting at first then it was fine. Yes last fyremadel was yesterday morning and none now. It was nice waking up and thinking I don’t have any injections to have to do today and at certain times etc. I also tested the trigger shot this morning, more just wanted to see it worked lol! Not sure if I will keep testing it out though. How are you feeling about tomorrow? What time is your EC? X

1stcycle · 22/09/2022 09:20

@Tinkerbell098 I’m feeling ok about tomorrow, more anxious about the sedation. Hopefully some of the borderline follicles have grown. But as it’s my first cycle I’m trying not to be realistic also. We have a wedding on Saturday so I hope the recovery is quick as I know how expensive weddings are etc I’d hate to have to cancel on them.

Tinkerbell098 · 22/09/2022 09:30

@1stcycle I've been asked to come in at 7.45 am and they reckon I'll be in theatre around 9 am. OH has to produce "sample" at home and bring it along in the morning, he's feeling nervous about it as well. Yes I am also hoping some of the tiny follicles would grow a little bit and hoping they'll find some extra ones which may have been hiding on the scan. This is my first cycle as well so no idea what to expect and also trying not to have too much hope. Is the wedding in the afternoon? Hopefully you'll be ok by then, have no experience of EC, so not sure myself! I was just told not to drive for 48 hours that's all. Enjoy the injection free day X

1stcycle · 22/09/2022 09:41

@Tinkerbell098 i need to be there 7.45am too, my OH has to do the sample there though. Nice to get it done early out of the way and not have to wait and get more anxious. The wedding starts 11.45 but we can always just show our face and leave early if need be. Hope today doesn’t drag too much for you x

seekingbabyk · 22/09/2022 09:48

@1stcycle @Tinkerbell098 the sedation is fine ladies don't worry. I was so anxious about that part too having never had any sort of procedure before. My heart rate was about 160 before I went to sleep but honestly it was fine and over so quickly. We will be doing round two in November and I am not nervous at all now it was that easy.

I was a bit sore after but nothing major and 48 hours later felt ok. It was more the progesterone that made me bloated, etc which bothered me. We got trains up to London and back and I felt fine by time we were on the train just took it easy for the afternoon but I work for myself sitting at a desk and was working by about 3/4 pm feeling fine so don't worry too much. I know others have had more pain though x

Imisscoffee2021 · 22/09/2022 09:52

@1stcycle seconded what @seekingbabyk said about sedation, it was so fast and actually love the feeling of peace and tranquility that comes from it after, lay in bed eating biscuits with a dopey smile on my face 😅 good luck for egg collection ladies! X

seekingbabyk · 22/09/2022 09:54

@Imisscoffee2021 having said that I don't remember getting from the bed in procedure room to the recovery bed and they tell me I did that myself 😂

1stcycle · 22/09/2022 09:55

@seekingbabyk ahh thanks, that makes me feel better about sedation. Luckily we live about 15mins from the clinic and I booked the day off work so hopefully have a duvet day.

I’m sure November will come around quick now, and at least you know what to expect. Are you doing the same protocol this cycle or are they changing anything? X

1stcycle · 22/09/2022 09:57

@Imisscoffee2021 That sounds good, I’m going to get my snacks tonight! How long after the procedure to you come around?

seekingbabyk · 22/09/2022 10:04

@1stcycle not 100% yet - we have a follow up on 10th to run through but I'm guessing they might change meds or increase. My amh is 21 and hubby has good swimmers so they only put us in 150 menopur but we only ended up with 4 mature eggs and 1 blast so I'm guessing they will change something.

Honestly you'll be fine I just closed my eyes and had my little nieces smiling face in my mind and before I knew it they woke me. I would say within 30 mins I was more awake and after an hour they said I was ok to go. I just took a bottle of juice. They gave me biscuits and water. We came back and ordered food in.

It was funny actually because hubby had to be my chaperone to take me and bring me home and he tried to put us on the tube going wrong direction and we were laughing because I was telling him where we needed to go so that should give you an idea of how normal I felt an hour after! Just had a slow walk to the station and crashed on sofa for a bit once home. I was very tearful but I think it was just such a relief it was over and I felt so proud for facing my fears too ❤️

1stcycle · 22/09/2022 10:16

@seekingbabyk thats the thing, first round is kind of starting blind and trial and error as don’t know how going to respond to the stims. Fingers crossed for the next round.

😂😂 typical men, useless without us haha! Yeah you should be proud of yourself, sometimes forget how much we go through and all the things we have to do 💗

Imisscoffee2021 · 22/09/2022 10:17

@1stcycle I'm not sure how long really, it seemed quick as it was well before 10 and I went in after 9ish, so a matter of minutes probably. I'd imagine they give you something to wake you up as I came to in a different room, with a nurse there. Aas floating on a pink cloud of calm, was amazing 🤣 I fektnit work immediately too, felt a slight stinging in veins as it went in, said to the anaesthetist "oh I think it's working" and was out before the end of the sentence

seekingbabyk · 22/09/2022 10:23

@1stcycle yes I was probably a bit naïve as consultant was saying we should only need one cycle, etc so we just thought it would all be fine and easy 🙄 I'm sure it'll come though and we have to work for things we want don't we. I'm just glad I found the cycle fairly easy as I'd be dreading a second if I had bad side effects, etc!

@Imisscoffee2021 oh yes I got that warm feeling in my arm and dont remember anything else 😂
