Hi ladies! 👋
Just as the post says... cycle day 1 of my first IVF round, 20 days until I start Norethisterone then Menopur & Fyremadel.
Looking for others starting cycle or in the cycle for some company.
Sending lots of luck to you all! ❤️

@Imisscoffee2021 thanks! Have you done anymore tests or waiting for OTD?

Imisscoffee2021 · 10/09/2022 09:40

@Tinkerbell098 I've been testing out my trigger and annoyingly the tests started to darken slightly a few days ago, after 4 days post transfer when I had some sharp right sided cramps, but symptoms subsided after that and the lines arent getting any darker, so I don't think this one worked. I had a hatching blastocyst (though only a few cells had come out of the zona pallucida) so really should have a positive by now looking at the timelines. Part of testing early was to prepare myself for these kinds of things, as I can't deal with not knowing for 11ndays then get a big shock or disappointment on OTD! So not feeling too devastated as we have frozen blastocysts, but it is a crazy journey, from highs to lows all in a day, in an hour sometimes! Really trying not to think about the cause if this one's hasn't worked as we have MFI and the mind wonders if it was a viable embryo despite being a 5AA equivalent. The TWW has for sure been the hardest part of IVF and its the part I've already done 16 times on normal cycles 😅

Tinkerbell098 · 10/09/2022 09:44

@Imisscoffee2021 do you still get positives on the tests despite not getting darker? Wouldn’t the trigger have gone by now and it may be a true positive? What tests are you using? Are they pretty sensitive?

Imisscoffee2021 · 10/09/2022 09:49

I got a faint pink line on frer yesterday that wasn't a proper squinter but very very faint still, and faint pink lines on ics but really not enough to be true positives, maybe from partial implantation that ultimately failed, not sure. Still have a grain of hope of course as im not a pessimist but mentally preparing myself for a failed cycle as I'm visiting my heavily pregnant sister two days after OTD and it'll make me mentally more prepared if I already am thinking positively of the next step :)

seekingbabyk · 10/09/2022 09:50

@Imisscoffee2021 I would try not to think about it too much, I know it's hard but I think if you are getting positives now too that's a good sign - surely the trigger won't still be in your system now? This TWW is dragging I must say - feels like it's been weeks since our transfer and we're only day 5 🙄

seekingbabyk · 10/09/2022 09:52

@Imisscoffee2021 I completely understand the protecting yourself- we've spent the last 6 years just saying we aren't sure we want kids to protect the awkward conversations (why is everyone we know so fertile?!??). I have a good feeling about your results though 🤞🏻

Imisscoffee2021 · 10/09/2022 09:52

@seekingbabyk I wouldn't call them positives tbh, they're not strong enough and aren't changing since 5dp5dt, but I'm not ruling a miracle out and still diligently taking the meds and vitamins :) going for a walk in the woods today with hubby and back at my full time job tomorrow so will be well and truly distracted:)

Imisscoffee2021 · 10/09/2022 09:55

@seekingbabyk I've found the TWW the worst bit! Transfer day felt like such a high compared to this 😅 how are you feeling? I've wierdly lost the progesterone side effects too, boobs not sore today for the first time in aaages which feels ominous. I had a banging head and protracted nausea all day yesterday which is now gone too, and I tend to get that when I have hormonal shifts like a few days before period so I think my natural progesterone is dropping and estrogen is coming back perhaps, wish indidnt know my body so well but 16 months of TTC makes me an expert!

Imisscoffee2021 · 10/09/2022 09:58

@seekingbabyk we've just been super honest when people ask about kids now, as we've been together since we were 23 and 24, now 34 and 35, and we chose not to start trying til May 2021. We got married 3 weeks before lockdown (lucky!) And would have tried in 2020 but didn't as the world was an odd place and we weren't sure if our jobs would hold steady, thankfully they did. So now when people ask we just say we are trying but have a few hurdles in place so have to do IVF. I've kept that we've gone private a secret from my family and tell them we're waiting for referral through NHS (which we technically are still) so that if we do get pregnant we can avoid questions and surprise people with a (hopefully one day!) healthy 3 month scan. It's such a minefield!

seekingbabyk · 10/09/2022 10:20

@Imisscoffee2021 that's funny you should say that because I have an awful headache this morning - wondered if I didn't drink enough yesterday but maybe it's as you say! Yes I have the same - boobs not as sore. Massively bloated though! Just feeling a bit fed up now. Sleeping really well though. I had some premenstrual type cramps yesterday but amounted to nothing. Ordered some tests too think I'm going to try to hold out until Wednesday

Imisscoffee2021 · 10/09/2022 10:40

@seekingbabyk I hope in your case its lots of hcg flooding your system from your embryo!:) 🤞🤞

seekingbabyk · 10/09/2022 11:08

@Imisscoffee2021 we shall see - I am just trying not to think about it to be honest and it'll be fine either way. Hubby and I work for ourselves and travel a LOT so we love our lives anyway and whether we have a family or not I know we'll be really happy so just trusting the universe and thinking whatever is meant to be will be x

Imisscoffee2021 · 10/09/2022 13:05

@seekingbabyk ah that's lovely, such a great way to think. I feel similarly, were such kindred spirits and spent 11 years just us two very happy so if it does happen we will still be happy, and we'll know we tried everything so that will give us alot of peace too

seekingbabyk · 10/09/2022 13:07

@Imisscoffee2021 exactly! I don't think we'll ever be a couple who are still trying 8 rounds later but we'll probably try these three and see what happens. You just feel like life is on hold a bit don't you while you're waiting!

Imisscoffee2021 · 10/09/2022 13:17

@seekingbabyk completely! We moved flats last year thinking it'd be our last in this area and we'd be off but still here, paying through the nose a huge rent, and even just things like not drinking so missing the pub with friends and not exercising as much so missing running in the park and the endorphins from a weights work out, little things like that I really miss. Hope it's worth it in the end 😅

seekingbabyk · 10/09/2022 13:20

@Imisscoffee2021 I really sympathise - I could have murdered a glass of wine last night but obviously didn't. Trying to pack a house up not lifting anything heavy has been interesting too! Not long to go now though and we'll both know! 😬😬😬

Imisscoffee2021 · 10/09/2022 15:09

Well I just got home from a gentle walk and saw pink and touch of red on a wipe so think I'm out, and will need to be on more progesterone next time. My clinic don't test progesterone levels unfortunately but I have a tad low naturally anyway so may need more luteal support next time!

seekingbabyk · 10/09/2022 15:10

@Imisscoffee2021 but that could be implantation spotting?

Imisscoffee2021 · 10/09/2022 15:16

@seekingbabyk it seems so late for that when it's been in a week? And some was quite fresh red, only a tiny bit but I thought implantation was usually brown or pink?

seekingbabyk · 10/09/2022 15:18

@Imisscoffee2021 I'm not 100% to be honest but I have watched lots of ivf stories on youtube and I would honestly say don't read into it too much - over half of them bled a bit and were fine. Google search says 10-14 days after conception so I was told that's EC date for us x

Imisscoffee2021 · 10/09/2022 18:25

@seekingbabyk if I'd already had a strong bfp I might feel okay but I have the classic pre period signs, I always get left ovary pain and popping in my ears, plus cramps were a bit worse today and some lower back pain which is classic for me. It's really okay though, we've already talked alot this week about the possibility of it not being successful and are looking ahead to the next step, like we all have to on these infertility boards 😅

seekingbabyk · 10/09/2022 19:17

@Imisscoffee2021 well I'm still keeping everything crossed for you. Blimey you really do know your body! Popping ears I would never associate that with totm 😂

Imisscoffee2021 · 10/09/2022 19:39

@seekingbabyk oh yeah, popping ears and a hormonal shift headache, 100% AF on her way! 🤣 Still spotting and cramping more this evening do she's on her way, will definitely ask for more progesterone next time.

seekingbabyk · 10/09/2022 19:47

@Imisscoffee2021 aw I'm sorry you're feeling like it hasn't worked. My progesterone is 3 x 200 per day - I don't know anyone else who has that - everyone else is 2?!

Imisscoffee2021 · 10/09/2022 19:51

@seekingbabyk I'm on 4 x 200! Two am and two pm! I actually dodged a bullet today, tested my fmu in a pot that I'd kept for when a frer arrived in post, as well as a 4 hour hold this afternoon and this mornings was most visible yet but faded towards afternoon, so I'm so glad I didn't have any frers as I would have massively got my hopes up this morning only to start cramping and spotting this afternoon.
