Hi ladies! 👋
Just as the post says... cycle day 1 of my first IVF round, 20 days until I start Norethisterone then Menopur & Fyremadel.
Looking for others starting cycle or in the cycle for some company.
Sending lots of luck to you all! ❤️

@KateAlva I had a very similar pain to you, when moving, sitting, using the bathroom, peeing, coughing, breathing deeply etc. It got worse the day after EC as the sedation drugs wear off then. I think day 1+2 were the worst. I was not sure if it was OHSS - I didn't have many eggs collected but I had 20+ follicles and my estrogen levels were borderline for OHSS. In the end the pain went away within about 4-5 days I think. I still am quite breathless and tired but no pain anymore. Make sure to monitor your pain levels and if this are increasing further then definitely contact the hospital. Severe OHSS requires hospitalisation but I think mild can be managed at home. Drink lots and keep your electrolytes up too.

seekingbabyk · 06/09/2022 22:05

Sorry @KateAlva I can't really help as my recovery was pretty smooth and hardly any pain but if it's still bad tomorrow maybe give hospital a call - even if it just gives you peace of mind to be checked over it might be worth doing

seekingbabyk · 07/09/2022 14:54

How are you feeling today @KateAlva ?

KateAlva · 07/09/2022 18:56

I ended up going to emergency gynae today - throughout the night I honestly had the worst pain I can remember ever feeling, and that's saying something as I have grade 4 endometriosis and have had several surgeries. They ran bloods but couldn't get me in for a scan, but said because I'm not bloated then it can't be OHSS. I'm due to have embryo transfer either tomorrow or Saturday but I'm worried something is going on inside. Today they said it is most likely free fluid/blood in my abdomen due to the egg collection but they can't do anything. I don't 100% trust the drs as I have had bad experiences there, they also told me to take ibuprofen which I'm supposed to avoid before transfer, and that I'm past the OHSS risk now that the collection is done, but I thought it only started from trigger and could present up to 2 weeks after collection. So I feel like they just fobbed me off really, sent me home with codeine and paracetamol and basically said grin and bear it 😔

Imisscoffee2021 · 07/09/2022 19:05

@KateAlva that's such an awful experience! What does your ivf clinic/consultant advise? I hope you get answers or feel better soon, I thought they aspirated most of the fluid in the follicles during collection and retrieve eggs from it so shouldn't be much in abdomen surely? X

seekingbabyk · 07/09/2022 19:08

@KateAlva IM so sorry you are going through all of that. Is your ivf clinic private or nhs? I'm sure they will fit you in for a scan if you call them. I hope the meds are kicking in and you're starting to feel more comfortable x

KateAlva · 07/09/2022 21:08

Thanks both - I'm at the NHS IVF hospital in Manchester but so far have really struggled to even get through to them on the phone. I went there before I went to the emergency gynae today and was just told that nobody would see me. Even though the phone rings and rings, at the hospital it was just off the hook. Thankfully the meds have started to work but I'm terrified of what's to come. I'm trying to stay positive and think it's all worth it for a baby!! Best of luck to both of you 💛

Imisscoffee2021 · 08/09/2022 14:31

@KateAlva that is just so frustrating! Monitoring is so important, and they must know this is such an emotional procedure and we need the support of a direct line to the professionals working with you! I hope you've managed to get in touch and all is looking good for your transfer!

Imisscoffee2021 · 08/09/2022 14:32

@seekingbabyk How's your tww so far? X

seekingbabyk · 08/09/2022 16:23

@Imisscoffee2021 a bit of a nightmare to be honest. Generally I feel fine but it's annoying me not being able to do things like carrying boxes etc because I'm trying to take it easy. Very twingey in the lower stomach area. My boobs feel HUGE. And all morning today I felt very nauseous. Any of these things could just be the progesterone though so not overthinking any of it! How about you? Have you managed to resist testing?x

seekingbabyk · 08/09/2022 16:24

@KateAlva I'm glad you are feeling a bit better! Are they doing your transfer still or will you leave it now until another cycle?

Imisscoffee2021 · 08/09/2022 16:30

@seekingbabyk I tested out my trigger and it looked like it may be getting a touch darker yesterday, and had some sharp cramps to the right, but today other than nausea and mild headaches nothing to report test wise, lines look lighter so think it was still the trigger and I just went to bed thirsty perhaps! Not feeling hugely positive about this cycle in terms of getting a bfp after the tests but I still see it as a win to have some frozen so we get another few goes :) the symptoms have been so annoying, I know it's the progesterone but after all this focus on meds and collections etc it's hard not to get hopes up! Cramps totally gone today so like I say, not holding out much hope but can always go again with a FET in November, balancing the pessimism with that thought 😅

seekingbabyk · 08/09/2022 16:33

@Imisscoffee2021 you never know though it could stick. I didn't have any cramps yesterday but today they are back. Seems to be worse if I go for a walk or something too. Could just be my body healing from the EC though. Our clinic has agreed to transfer us to multi cycle if this doesn't work so that's great but I think we may wait until Jan for round two as with moving it'll be too much. When is your OTD?

Imisscoffee2021 · 08/09/2022 16:44

@seekingbabyk it's 14th, but should know by then really with a hatching blastocyst, shame if it doesn't work as it was a good quality blasto and lining was really good, but just one of those mysteries! Luckily got so much work on at home this week I'm really distracted, I just get quite restless first thing in the morning as my brain must be thinking TAKE A TEST. Not going to test this mouth on next one if this fella doesn't stick:)

seekingbabyk · 08/09/2022 16:56

@Imisscoffee2021 I'm keeping everything crossed for you - it all sounds really promising! I love this little timeline I found online too

Imisscoffee2021 · 08/09/2022 17:17

@seekingbabyk thank you :) that's such great news about a multi cycle too, saves so much money and stress)!

KateAlva · 08/09/2022 17:24

Thanks @seekingbabyk
The embryologist confirmed today that they are happy to go ahead this Saturday! Which I'm nervous (and excited about). They will scan me beforehand to make sure any fluid is not going to impact the transfer.

seekingbabyk · 08/09/2022 18:19

@KateAlva awww that's great! Exciting times 😁

Tinkerbell098 · 09/09/2022 13:32

@seekingbabyk @Imisscoffee2021 your symptoms sound very promising. Good luck to you both and lots of love X

Tinkerbell098 · 09/09/2022 17:59

I rang up the clinic this evening as it was my day 1. I'm now booked for Monday morning for a scan!

seekingbabyk · 09/09/2022 18:00

@Tinkerbell098 wow that's amazing so excited for you!

Tinkerbell098 · 09/09/2022 18:01

Thanks :) hope everything will be OK for me to start stims next week.

Imisscoffee2021 · 09/09/2022 18:41

@Tinkerbell098 so pleased you can start! Fingers crossed for a lovely antral follicle count and nice thin lining! Mad what you wish for people in this IVF world isn't it 😅
