Finally had my transfer this morning so I officially have an embryo on board 😬😬😬😬

Somatronic · 21/05/2022 15:21

@LT103 excellent! Good on you. And best of luck with the wait 😑 Hope you can do something nice this weekend.

Suki2020 · 21/05/2022 18:00

@LT103 yay thats great news, fingers crossed for you.

PMAmostofthetime · 22/05/2022 13:44

Hi Ladies, Sorry Covid literally wipes me out. Feeling better today but still testing positive on day 7! 🙈

@SamTTC
It was my first time and I worked face to face all the way through the pandemic, my last vaccine ( Booster) was Sept 21 though so I'm wondering if it's worn off?

I have to do a whole new cycle- I didn't have any Frosties :(. Last NHS go.

I have a virtual appointment Tuesday so I'll discuss it with them then.

@Somatronic finally on the mend thanks.
Good luck for your scan this week :)

@AliceAbsolum Thanks I'll ask about it- not long for your 12 week scan- I except it feels like an eternity away for you through.

@ginandtonicformeplease Covid exhaustion is kicking my butt- I need a nap every day still. Glad you tested negative for your appointment.

@HJen22 how's Northesteroine treating you this time? I'm starting to get nervous for the next round. I think I'll be delayed now through due to lack of cycle currently day 46. Had to mute my tracking app as it keeps telling me to test 😭.

@LT103 how are you feeling? X

SamTTC · 23/05/2022 12:29

@LT103 how are you feeling?

@PMAmostofthetime Ah that really sucks I’m sorry. It’s good that you’re feeling better, really crossing fingers you stop testing positive soon. I’m excited to hear about your consult tomorrow.

I’m PUPO again. Had my little day 6 transferred and it went fine, it was fully hatched out of its shell - funny I kind of assumed it would be, because the first one was completely closed and the second was half out, so this one completes the trifecta of how embryos can look!
My 2WW this time really will just be one week, because if I’m not pregnant, my period will start on the 31st.

LT103 · 23/05/2022 13:04

@SamTTC congratulations on the PUPO!!! What do you have planned for the week?

my period will be due 2 days before OTD unless the ovitrelle injection pushes it back any so guess it’s just a wait and see. I’m not testing early as the ovitrelle will give me a false positive. Trying my hardest not to symptom spot 😬. I said I wouldn’t but it’s so hard

SamTTC · 23/05/2022 13:51

@LT103 I've got a busy work week - it was straight back to the office after my transfer and into a meeting! It's been a very hectic spring, pretty much unrelenting since my (thankfully easier) retrieval cycle in February, which is annoying because I had a few months of relative quiet while I was on the wait list for treatment. My work is very unpredictable.
But at least time passes quickly, and as long as I can avoid having to lug gigantic suitcases full of technical equipment up and down stairs like last time, I'll be pleased.

And that's true the ovitrelle could potentially push it back... I'm not testing before my period comes I think, mainly because I don't have time!

How about you? What are your plans?

LT103 · 23/05/2022 15:52

My transfer was Saturday then way things worked so we went for some dinner on Saturday then I met friends for some (non alcoholic) cocktails on Sunday but back at work now so this week will fly in.
i have appt a week on Tuesday for bloods but I’ll test that morning as I don’t want a surprise call at work with results either way

PMAmostofthetime · 23/05/2022 21:31

@SamTTC that's amazing news- hoping it goes well for you. Not long to wait either.

I expect it will still drag though- hope you have some things planned to get your through?

I don't recommend testing early- I had to test before OTD because my AF showed and o had to ensure it wasn't something wrong and it just sucked as I had to continue meds until OTD and because of this I kept a little hope.

@LT103 pleased everything went well for you aswell :)

SamTTC · 24/05/2022 09:36

@PMAmostofthetime I don't know about you but I really find that it gets easier for every round. I really believed it would work the first few times but now I just don't assume anything, I have experienced every possible symptom and it's ended in BFP anyway, so honestly I have an easier time just waiting it out now.
Testing early works for me exactly for that reason - I don't like living in something I believe is false hope! But I know everyone is different :)

How was your consult today??

SamTTC · 24/05/2022 09:36

"It's ended in BFN anyway" is obviously what I meant to write haha. If only!

Somatronic · 24/05/2022 09:44

@SamTTC congratulations on being PUPO! I've been pretending to have a bad back the last few weeks and making my male colleagues do all my lifting - I hope that you can do something like that too!

@PMAmostofthetime sounds like you had a rough time with Covid. I hope you're feeling better now. And thanks for the good wishes for my scan later this week!

PMAmostofthetime · 24/05/2022 21:42

@SamTTC that makes sense. I knew what you meant.
It's was ok- but won't be starting for a while.

My AF showed up today right after I did the PG Test the clinic requested! I swear these things start my AF- everytime.

They have decided to do Long protocol which sounds horrific for a needle Phob! But it's got to be done. They will send me an appointment i the post for 2-3 weeks- I'll have bloods and all the screening tests again and then Day 21 I will start. But I don't think I'll an appointment before day 21 this AF so will be around- 16th July which feels like forever away. Anyone done long protocol? Can you advice of the process?

They are doing it to try and improve egg quality- any suggestions or supplements I can take for this?

@Somatronic still
Positive day 9 but feel a lot better.
Thanks.

SamTTC · 25/05/2022 07:04

@PMAmostofthetime i haven’t done long protocol and oof that is a horrifically long wait!! But I think it’s worth it- it should hopefully mean more eggs retrieved! I want to ask for it for my last round if I need it.

AliceAbsolum · 25/05/2022 09:17

In terms of egg quality my clinic said a high protein low sugar diet with no snacks to regulate blood sugar.
I also took dhea off label, but I wouldn't recommend that.
It all starts with the egg is a good book.

Steph2345 · 25/05/2022 12:34

@PMAmostofthetime i did the long protocol. It can feel like you’re on medication for a long time but everything is completely controlled. They couldn’t fit me in for my base scan so it ended up being delayed by 5 days or so but you don’t start the stims until they say so nothing can happen, you may just get a bit impatient. I don’t hate the injections like you so it wasn’t too bad for me.
when I was doing IUI, I was given the down reg hormones as a nasal spray maybe as if you can have it as a spray rather than an injection seeing as you really don’t like them. I know it’s not the easiest to get hold of for them but it is possible (my down reg for both IUI and IVF was buserelin).

@SamTTC and @LT103 congrats on being PUPO!

@Somatronic hope your scan goes well!

PMAmostofthetime · 26/05/2022 01:45

@SamTTC I had some good news today my appointment is 10th June and day 21 is 13th June so I may start this month. Not getting my hopes up just yet though.

@AliceAbsolum Thanks I will try that diet :) anything that helps right.

@Steph2345 thanks for the info I will definitely ask about it the nasal spray it would make it so much easier.

X

SamTTC · 26/05/2022 07:35

@PMAmostofthetime oh nice!! Crossing fingers!

I have been having super stressful dreams including my clinic kicking me out because they insisted I’d been tampering with their success rates by sleeping with a man named Clint while having treatments ??? But apparently they accused everyone of this so it started a revolution in the clinic 😂but then I also dreamt that my period started early and the hcg was still in my system which meant I had to keep testing it out and then it was too late to start a new cycle…omg the stress and worry of infertility treatments really can’t be overstated, no wonder some people develop ptsd!

I’ve cut down caffeine significantly but still have one cup a day, and I eat super healthy but do still have some sugary snacks sometimes. Insulin levels are fine and weight is within normal range but I still do wonder whether I need to go completely clean. I would be able to do that over the summer at least if it comes to having to wait after all.
I also take q10 for egg quality!

SamTTC · 26/05/2022 07:36

And great suggestion about the nasal spray, I’ve heard other people successfully insist to do this instead of injections.

Somatronic · 26/05/2022 11:07

@SamTTC that dream is so funny! I had a dream that I had a little blonde baby boy and I kept trying to stop him from crying but I kept messing up by doing bizarre things like sticking safety pin needles into him. Mad stuff.

I had my scan today at the IVF clinic. 8 weeks today. All looked good at the scan. I'm so relieved. Can finally admit to myself that this is actually happening now I think.

SamTTC · 26/05/2022 14:05

@Somatronic that is such a wonderful update, thank you for sharing and congratulations - enjoy 😊

LT103 · 26/05/2022 16:10

Omg @SamTTC that dream is hilarious!!! Ive not had any alcohol or caffeine but I’ve failed at the sugary snacks when I planned to be so good. I guess it prob isn’t going to affect it anyway.
how are you feeling? Ive had such bad cramps last 2 days like AF is about to start but it’s def too early. Now I’m worried I’m going to start spotting and bleeding before otd! Still freaking out that I’m on no meds whatsoever when everyone else I read on here has medicated transfers!! I mean I’m enjoying it but I don’t get how it will work!!

SamTTC · 27/05/2022 07:34

@LT103 I know what you mean, I’m also on an unmedicated cycle and it’s funny how “used” I’d gotten to the side effects from the drugs. Even though I knew it was the drugs it reminded me I was PUPO. I feel absolutely nothing, except I had absolutely terrible pain in my ovaries (not my uterus) for the first few days, it’s better today, but I’m beginning to worry I have endometriosis. Because I’ve actually experienced this pain in the week leading up to AF in every cycle but always written it off as the drugs. I will ask the doctor about it.
I’m not expecting this round to work, so I’m not expecting any symptoms (and symptom spotting is faulty anyway) but it’s still disappointing. I keep forgetting I’m even in the TWW!
What is today for you, 6dp5dt? You won’t test till test day right?

SamTTC · 27/05/2022 07:36

@LT103 cramping really can go either way and it’s unlikely to be AF so early, so I’m crossing fingers for you!

LT103 · 27/05/2022 18:21

@SamTTC still cramping and trying to resist the urge to test. I wish I’d just tested out my ovitrelle then I’d know haha. The wait is killing me and not full of hope today!
hope you’re doing ok!
