Anyone out there currently going through IVF, start my stims in a couple of days. Had my down reg scan today and I have 4 follicles on my left and 5 on my right, wasn't sure if this was good or not, I've just turned 40 as this is my first cycle.

@Emmyanddreams Ah, how exciting! I can imagine how worried you must be though after your previous experiences so defo give them a call if it will help you! I’m pretty sure it’s a sticky bean you have in there though! :)

I’m the same, not Covid but I have a raging cold! Haven’t slept for the past few nights because my nose is so bloody blocked! It all happens at once doesn’t it!

Egg collection all done and I’m home in pjs on couch. It was all fine. Over and done with quick and I don’t remember any of it haha. Got 9 eggs and sperm looking good so just need to cross fingers now.
Embryologist came to chat to me. She said on average 60% fertilise and of that 40% make it to blast (obv some get better some get worse). So I’ll get a call tomorrow morning saying how many fertilised then an update on Monday (day 4) and a final call on Tuesday to say if any make it to freezer.
5% get nothing so I’ll try and go with my 95% odds of getting something to freeze!

@LT103 Yay so glad it went well! Isn’t it bad, worry so much about it then have absolutely no recollection of it! Keep us updated when you get that call tomorrow! Lots of rest today xx

Yeah. I had a guess before I went in and guessed 10. Just from the dot chart they’d given me. I mean I had loads of follicles but they were well spread out size wise so I knew not all would be right size.
When I asked her she said you don’t want too many as when the numbers increase, the fertilisation rate etc decreases. Quality over quantity I guess!

Now ok to the next stage of panic. What if none fertilise? It’s never ending

I had my transfer on the 10th March and did a pregancy test yesterday on day 13 as requested and it came back negative :(
I have been advised to continue with my medication for a further 3 days and redo the test, has anyone been through this and after 3 days the test was positive. I am also getting string cramps as though I am going to start my period

@Myfamily123456 I'm so sorry to hear about your negative test. I don't have any advice sorry as this is my first time and that isn't something I've experienced. I'll keep everything crossed for you though.
You may want ro ask this question in a new thread as there are loads of more experienced people on here 😊

No I didn't. But I am today for sure. I'll use the excuse that I will need a new prescription for progesterone next week ☺️

@Emmyanddreams It certainly is, did two tests to be sure and both still positive, yay! I’ve rang the clinic and waiting on a phone call back - they have some bizarre system where you can’t just ring and talk to somebody it drives me mad!

Ah that’s a good idea! I’ll need to request more of mine too. I’ll be so happy to see the back of those I won’t lie! :)

Gosh, I’m so annoyed! So I rang the clinic, to be told to test again on Sunday then they will book a scan in from there. I just don’t understand that! When I rang after my transfer they said test today, if that’s negative then test again Sunday but nothing to suggest I test again if it’s positive by today. I know it sounds strange but they’ve left me feeling like I’m still not pregnant, feel so fed up!

What’s annoyed me the most is she even said ‘congratulations’ - so why not just book my bloody scan now 😅🤨

Had my call and all 9 eggs have fertilised!!! I won’t hear now until Monday. They use embryoscope but obv it’s the weekend so I get a day 4 call rather than day 3.
Reading the info they gave me says 40% of fertilised eggs on average make it to body so 🤞🤞

@Elle147 that is ridiculous! What's the point in the OTD?!!
I called my clinic today and they still need me to test tomorrow and call back. In terms of progesterone they told me that they normally say once you test positive on your OTD they advise you to stop medication. This makes me feel nervous so they're going to get someone to look into my history of chemicals and will advise tomorrow whether I need to continue. I mean why can't I just continue, it won't do any harm and I'm happy paying for more!

@Emmyanddreams It’s made me feel so deflated! Oh really? I think mine said I carry on for about 6 weeks after a positive test, but I could be wrong! Defo can’t do any harm still taking them as a top up! How have you been feeling? I’m ridiculously bloated from the progesterone, I’m drinking sooo much and I’m still a bloated mess!

@Elle147 exactly my thoughts, there is no harm having a top up. Hopefully they agree and just give me a prescription.
I feel bloated too. Drinking loads which means needing to go to the loo all the time!
Aww that sucks that you feel deflated even though it should be a really happy day. Just remember, you are definitely pregnant and that's fantastic! Xx

@Emmyanddreams The OH is cheering me up, taking me out for food this evening to celebrate our positive result! :) I am soo ready for the weekend, I intend on doing not a lot!

I had my egg collection today. First round of IVF.

If you have collection coming soon and a little nervous, I can't tell you how much the eve before and morning of meditating (with the CALM app) helped! I have shocked myself at how calm I was and I put it down to that.

I didn’t experience any pain after my egg collection (luckily). I think it could also depend on how many eggs they collected? How many did they get? Maybe give your clinic a ring for some reassurance xx

They got 8 eggs so I wouldn't of thought that would cause extra pain

@Chippychippy great tip about using the Calm app.
Sorry to hear you're in pain. To be honest I didn't have that, I just felt a bit tired. Im sure it's all normal but I would give your clinic a call just in case xx

It's my OTD today so I did another test and called the clinic. All booked in for a scan on 19th April which feels like ages away!! Thankfully the doctor has prescribed me with more progesterone to take me up to my scan and then if that's all good I'll be given another prescription to take me up to 12 weeks. I'm so relieved!

@Chippychippy When are you expecting your call about fertilisation etc? Do you have to wait until Monday? Just have plenty of rest, your body has been through so much!

@Emmyanddreams Amazing news, congrats! I’m absolutely dreading the wait until the scan! It’s all such a big waiting game isn’t it! Today is the first time in ages I’ve woken up not feeling awful though so I’m in a great mood! :)
