Anyone out there currently going through IVF, start my stims in a couple of days. Had my down reg scan today and I have 4 follicles on my left and 5 on my right, wasn't sure if this was good or not, I've just turned 40 as this is my first cycle.

I finally have my egg collection booked in this Friday. Must say I'm feeling very nervous. Prepared to not feel good for a few days!

Out of interest, how long did you guys have to wait before transfer? I'm assuming it varies for everyone.

I am currently in the horrid 2ww, I actually started it thinking this will be a piece of cake and I will not test early! I am now 6 days post transfer and its beginning to take its toll! I feel so emotional all the time and tired! also very thirsty! felt a few aches and pains and some cramps nothing major. Did anyone else get any symptoms during the 2ww, and does anyone have any tips on surviving without going mad!

I haven’t checked in for a while as a I have been away for a little break, just what I needed! :) I am almost 8 weeks, scan is Wednesday! Today is the first day I have experienced proper nausea, I’ve felt awful all day and spent the majority of my day in bed! Other than that, I feel ‘normal’ I think?

How are you all doing?

@Chippychippy How are you doing? Any news on a scan date?

@etrimbl Your right, it does vary on an individual basis but I think it’s normally 3-5 days if you are having a fresh transfer. How did your EC go?

@Luluspies Ah, they sound positive! Have you tested yet? I know most of us here caved and tested early :) I didn’t get any major symptoms, main one was feeling tired more than usual!

@Emmyanddreams Huge good luck for your scan tomorrow! What time is it booked in for? xx

@Elle147 I haven't tested I and will not test until my day I don't want to put myself in another world of limbo hahaha I'm holding out until the 22nd pinky swear! Today I had a tiny bit of pink and brown spotting it had gone by lunch time hope your sickness clears up soon it must be nicer having symptoms when u actually have confirmation I don't think I would mind as much!

@etrimbl how did your egg collection go?

@Luluspies I tested early tbh at 6dpt. I'm not very strong!! I didn't really have any symptoms, just tired and a bit crampy.

@Elle147 oh no, sorry to hear you're now feeling nauseas. However it does kinda feel reassuring to have symptoms. I still feel better than I did. Waves of mild nausea instead of continuous nausea. Feeling so nervous about my scan. I just popped my progesterone pessary up and everything felt a lot lower which has made me paranoid. This has happened to me before and then the following time it felt high again, but still, it doesn't help the evening before a scan!!

@Emmyanddreams I’m so sure everything will be absolutely fine for you. I’ll look forward to your update :)

Those pessaries, the day I don’t have to use them will be the best day ever!

All went well thank you. However it's not looking too good at the moment. Had 5 good eggs, all fertilised and appeared healthy. Trouble is, 3 haven't developed well so now I'm down to 2. I'm hoping for good news tomorrow that they've developed but the lab think they're developing a little too slowly.

These 5 days are dreadful, can't imagine how the 2ww must feel...I'm a mess!

@etrimbl I felt the same when I was waiting but just hang in there and try take you mind off it, it's quality not quantity you just need one good one to make it I will cross my fingers for you xx

All going well for me! I am 19dp5dt still positive tests.... main symptoms are CRAZY TIRED, a little sickness and hungry ALL of the time! 🙊

So I've had my scan and we saw a little life measuring exactly the right size, with a strong heartbeat. I'm unbelievably happy! Still early days but so far it's looking good 😊 xx

Can I join? started the long protocol for IVF and I had to self administer Prostap on Monday - has anyone else used this? Was your period delayed after?

@Chippychippy I'm 7 weeks and 5 days. Oh yes, so relieved!!
We're still going to book another private scan between now and the 12 week scan. I have a feeling the 12 week scan will be at 13/14 weeks as I don't even have my booking appointment until I'm 11 weeks.

Just got back from my scan, one baby with a strong heartbeat but measuring 7w4 which confused me! I have to go back in next week because it was unclear if there’s two sacs, they suspect I’ve had a twin pregnancy and lost one.

Can’t say I feel any better to be honest, the lady who did my scan was awful and provided no positive assurance to me!

@Elle147 I'm so sorry you've had a bad experience and the sonographer wasn't very reassuring. You're only measuring a few days behind and this early on they could easily make an error. Did you have an internal scan or abdominal?

I'm so sorry if you have lost a twin 😔 Hopefully next week things will become clearer. How long do you need to wait? Xxx

@Emmyanddreams It was an internal scan. She was terrible, she couldn’t get a clear picture and was blaming the machine then when trying to listen to the heartbeat she was saying she couldn’t keep her arm still long enough, honest to god! I’ve just come away unsure how I feel. I know there’s a baby there and that’s great but it just didn’t feel positive like it should have been!

I go back in a week today. She couldn’t be certain if it’s the one sac or two but to me it definitely looked like two and one was empty. In a way, I’m grateful we haven’t had a twin pregnancy confirmed to then go through this if that makes sense?

@Elle147 That’s awful! Can you request a difference sonographer for next time?
It’s a real shame it wasn’t a positive experience. You should be feeling happy right now knowing you have a little spud with a strong heartbeat.
I completely understand what you’re saying about the twin pregnancy. To get to this stage with a twin pregnancy and then to lose one wouldn’t be devastating.
I hope the next week doesn’t go to slowly for you xxx

@Emmyanddreams Yeah I think I’m going to ask for somebody else. I’ve dealt with the same nurse before when I was having IUI and I recall her coming into the room just before the procedure and telling me it was pointless due to OH’s sperm but to go ahead anyway cos I was there.. honestly! Thankfully everyone else is lovely at the clinic!

I’ve had time to digest it all and I feel better. I know I’m pregnant, I’ve seen a heartbeat and I can take a positive that I get to see it again next week :) I told my parents earlier as I’m really close to them and just wanted to share with somebody else so that was lovely!

My appetite is out the window, all I want to eat at the moment is sweets and fruit!

@Elle147 wow, wow, wow! I can't believe she said that! Definitely ask for someone else.

I'm glad you're feeling a bit better. It is very exciting news and it will be lovely to see baby again next week. Hopefully it will be a much more positive experience. Were your parents really happy?

Oh my diet is appalling. I can't stomach hardly anything except white carbs and ice lollies! Yesterday I had another day of feeling sick continuously, and the way I feel right now I think today might be the same. Really hoping it will pass soon x

Thanks for your messages about telling friends and family @LT103 @Emmyanddreams @Chippychippy. I've decided not to tell anyone else, at least until my first round is over. I'm feeling in a positive place now, just counting down the days until I can finally start injections again on 6th May. This time going to hide away for two weeks - I don't want to get Covid again, that would just be super bad luck!

@Elle147 I'm so sorry you had to go through this! I really hope you get a different person next time or at least I hope she does a better job and you get a good experience! Honestly it just seems to me that the rollercoaster of ups and downs and emotions and worry just never really stops does it?
