Hi

I am just starting a new thread in case anyone else is falling into the September/October timings...I have been in other threads which have been so so supportive and a bit of a godsend really, but I'm a bit behind where everyone is up to.

I had a failed cycle in June unfortunately and didn't respond as they expected. Then was supposed to start again in august but unfortunately they saw a cyst on one of my ovaries so have delayed the next cycle to September (I think my stims will fall into October as they'll put me on norithisterone).

Be great to chat to others who are about to start soon 😊

@Coops0406 yes I'm doing ok thank you. No it's on the 14th that was the soonest they had! Oh ok I've been discussing it with a friend who is going through treatment too. Our clinics both don't actually do it so it would be finding somewhere that does & looking at the cost of it too. But as you say saves the 3 transfers that wouldn't of worked

Coops0406 · 29/11/2021 18:02

@Reefy it was expensive...£1185 first off then £305 per embryo...we had 5 embryos! But, whilst we are paying for ivf, I really don't want to have to go through another full cycle with egg collection again as I'm getting old and the quality of the eggs are just dropping each day! It took 17 eggs to get 2 euploid embryos for us, I'm not sure we'd be that lucky again!
I think you are literally just running 2 weeks behind me with everything!
If your clinic doesn't do it, how would you go about getting it done? Does it not have to be done before freezing embryos?

OP posts:
Reefy · 29/11/2021 19:09

@Coops0406 yes I thought it was somewhere around that sort of cost but yes it is expensive but less then another full cycle & the physical & emotional part of the cycle too. No I guess I would have to change clinics. My clinic is moving to new premises At some point & the embryologist said they will do it at some point but I think the nearest place would probably be London. Hope you are ready with your list
Of questions like I am 😂😂

pkp11 · 30/11/2021 00:02

@Coops0406 I'm well thank you. Just completed consent forms but due to the timing of my cycle we've decided to wait until Jan to start FET.
interesting you've done PGS testing, I may see if our clinic does it, I've seen a lot of videos online about it.
@Reefy hope you're well too!

Reefy · 30/11/2021 15:15

@pkp11 that's good you have got the ball rolling. Yes I'm doing ok thanks. We are just taking some time for ourselves, trying to get our Xmas shopping finished 😂

Coops0406 · 30/11/2021 19:47

@Reefy I think my main question is how likely is it that a euploid will work...my friend's clinic told her only 40% chance! Which now is a bit of a bummer! And then just what's the process and when can we get going!

@pkp11 I actually think waiting until the new year is good, have a nice Xmas without stressing to much then start 2022 off properly!
Yes, we were recommended it based on mr supposed to be producing lots of eggs but potentially with the majority of low quality...obviously first round there was only 2 eggs leading to 1 embryo so didn't end up doing it, but after 2 transfers not working and 5 embryos left, I just didn't want to keep going through this if there was this way to rule out the ones that definitely wouldn't work!

Here's hoping 2022 is a great year for us all!! 🥰🤞🏾

Coops0406 · 01/12/2021 21:30

We had our review meeting today and he seemed really pleased that we had 2 euploids...but I threw in a curveball and have asked if we can run a separate cycle and go through egg collection again to do some embryo banking. I am panicking as I know that if we were lucky enough for only one of these embryos to work and we decide to try again in a few years that I will be too old for ivf. So I think we are going to do that first then do the tests on the womb ready for a transfer in a few months! Massive decision but I know if we don't do it we'll regret it!

OP posts:
Reefy · 02/12/2021 08:38

@Coops0406 you have to do what you think is the best option for you as you say you wouldn't want to regret it later on. I've been doing some research into what the best package is for us so after our follow up we know where we stand. Will you PGS test the embryos again?

Coops0406 · 03/12/2021 20:09

@Reefy I know...it's a cost but then when you look at what kitchens and bathrooms cost, I know what I'd rather have!
Yes, will do PGT-A on them...I think we'll be lucky to get 1 euploid but I would be over the moon with that. He showed us on the aneuploid ones which chromosome was missing and from which side of the chain! It is just unbelievable the info they get!
What sort of package are you looking into? Are you eligible for refundable packages?

OP posts:
Reefy · 03/12/2021 20:41

@Coops0406 oh yes me too! It's amazing isn't it what they find! I've only had a brief call when them & they asked my age & said about refundable packages so I guess so. Im just waiting to hear back from my CCG as they have changed the rules in my area & say from 1st November you now get 3 rounds on NHS so im trying to find out if I would be entitled to another go! Im going to wait till my follow up on 14th to then decide about what package if we go for.

Coops0406 · 03/12/2021 20:59

@Reefy wow, 3 rounds! Where are you? Just the one for us which was an epic fail! It's bizarre how different it is everywhere! Fingers crossed you get another round!

OP posts:
Reefy · 03/12/2021 21:23

@Coops0406 when I was referred it was 2 fresh & 2 frozen but obviously I have no frozen embryos so unless they will let me do the new one then I won't get anymore. Im in Brighton & I know extremely lucky as some only get 1 which I just think is so unfair & everyone should get the same.

pkp11 · 09/12/2021 17:15

@Coops0406 so happy for you and about your decision! If it feels right to you then just go for it. I've read a lot online about banking and wish I had thought about it years ago!

@Reefy 3 rounds is bloody amazing! Such a shame the NHS has different rules everywhere. I contacted NHS about a year ago and I just received a call from the consultant last Friday!!!! Had to explain that I've already had 1 round in the time it's taken them to call me. He said I'm on eligible for NHS if I use all my embryos and have no baby, so fingers crossed I don't end up in that situation.

I am sorry have been busy with Christmas preps and trying to keep my mind off it all for now. Appt with nurse on 21st and medicine should be delivered all ready for next month. Hope you're both doing well

Reefy · 09/12/2021 17:40

@pkp11 well they say it's for new nhs patients only so I don't get anymore goes. That's good news that you would get it if you needed it but I hope you don't need it! Good luck for nurse appointment.

Coops0406 · 15/12/2021 10:29

@Reefy how was your appointment yesterday? How are you moving forward? Do you know your dates?

@pkp11 great that you will be ready to go for January! Hope appointment goes well next week...is that to talk through protocol and injections?

I'm waiting fir delivery of meds...start norithisterone on 20th December then injections on 9th January with provisional EC booked for 19th January! 😍 I'm super excited! I always am when it comes to the start of meds!

OP posts:
Reefy · 15/12/2021 12:25

@Coops0406 that's brilliant! Yes it is exciting isnt it as you know it's happening! May I ask with medication who do you use as with my nhs my clinic use fertility2u but I've heard of others so going to research it. Thanks for remembering! Well he said it was a very good consultation again lead again by me 😂 but he said in a good way as I know my stuff & im positive about it. Said obviously he doesn't know why it didn't work again & said about extra testing for my OH & some other vitamins he can try & ERA test for me but said that's only really for frozen transfer but I've said I was to have the scratch this time & he said well I'll say again it's no medical evidence to make a difference but he said he understands if I still want to try it. He said he doesn't know why it won't work I said was worried about my age (35) but he said no don't be I have a good AMH. I asked about doner eggs & he shut that down straight away & said we don't need that route. Anyway we don't have any dates in yet as we have decided to do a package with access fertility so we need to decide which package we want to do then get in touch with them & they sort out the stuff then we contact the clinic.

@pkp11 good luck for appointment on Tuesday 😊

Coops0406 · 15/12/2021 18:54

@Reefy I can't wait!
So my fertility place use stork fertility...I did look as asda and Morrison's pharmacy but Asda came out more expensive and Morrison's were mostly unhelpful! Also, I just find the ease of getting one delivery in time for starting a cycle easier for my stress levels! I know sometimes it can work out cheaper with Asda but not everything comes in at the same time.
Oh yes, I found that after a first rubbish cycle where I didn't have much to ask and went along with everything, the second time the consultations and appointments were so much better! It's so much easier when you have a bit more knowledge from your experience to be able to question them properly!
What is your AMH level?
You'll be able to get some fully refunded packages at your age I think too
I'll be having the ERA as well as some other biopsies (once we get through this cycle!)

OP posts:
Reefy · 15/12/2021 19:29

@Coops0406 yes sometimes ease is better. He did say menopur again as responded well & I asked if would up the dose & he asked how I felt & I said a little full the last day & he asked if I could of gone longer I said yes so he said would up if from 150 to 225. Oh yes we learn a lot & I've got a good friend who is doing it so we help each other. My Amh is 14.2. Yes when I spoke to them they said we would be as was in the age category. I feel like I need a bit of a break & I think it will be rushed for January as we need nurse appointments & get access fertility in place they close 24th Dec-4th Jan so looking at February/March time but will soon fly by I mean where has the year gone?!

Reefy · 16/12/2021 13:50

So I mentioned that the CCG in my area had changed from 2 fresh & 2 frozen to 3 fresh & 3 frozen so I contacted them & they said unfortunately it was new patients only. Anyway my sister wrote me a email to send which I did & I stated I didn't get any frozen so couldn't use them goes, they said they would contact the clinic & commissioner anyway they just called & said we can have another fresh cycle & said also 1 frozen if needed too. I literally burst into tears when she told me & said you don't know what this means to us it's the best Xmas present! She said please don't cry as you will make me cry!! Never give up & fight for what you think is right & fair!

pkp11 · 09/01/2022 22:43

@Coops0406 @Reefy happy new year ladies, hope you both have had a lovely Christmas and New year break.
Congrats @Reefy so happy for you! When do you think you will start your next round?

@Coops0406 I'm using stork too which has been great.

We just had a weekend break as I'm likely to start FET meds next weekend. Bring it on! Feel very positive and I've been watching a few more videos on other people's experiences.

Coops0406 · 10/01/2022 06:32

@pkp11 @Reefy happy new year to you too!!
@Reefy that's amazing news!! I don't know why I didn't see this before Xmas! You must be over the moon! When are you looking to start your next round?

I'm on day 2 of stims, last day should be next Monday when I have a scan the provisional EC booked for Wednesday 19th January, all being well.

@pkp11 what's your protocol for FET? When do you start meds and how long for? Are they injections again?

OP posts:
Reefy · 10/01/2022 09:05

@Coops0406 Happy new year! It's our year ladies! Yes we really are. All booked in so should start stims 6th February but got to wait to hear back from clinic as AF was 2 days late so don't know if will make a difference to the Norethisterone? I've booked in for the endometeral scratch this time too & im having acupuncture with my first one being this week. My menopur will be put up to 225 this time. Had my meds delivered Friday so it's getting close! How are you finding stims this time? Are you on the same meds as last time?

Coops0406 · 14/01/2022 20:22

@Reefy @pkp11 how are you both? I'm on day 6 of stims, same dose as last time but wasn't feeling much so arranged a scan for today. It was positive, they counted 14 follicles on left ovary (only 6 over 10mm, the rest smaller so probably won't get to size), then 9 follicles on right ovary, but all less than 10mm. Also a cyst on the right ovary!
So another scan on Monday the hopefully EC on Wednesday!!
Where are you guys up to? Are you on the norithisterone @Reefy ? When do you have the endometrial scratch? What does that do?

OP posts:
pkp11 · 14/01/2022 20:47

@Coops0406 I am well. I am waiting for my cycle to start so I can start meds from day 2.

I have to take a mix of tablets and injections. Scan between day 14 and 16 and if all well then I will start progesterone daily pessary and injections every 3 days.

pkp11 · 14/01/2022 20:50

@Coops0406 good news, go ovaries! Stay positive I'm sure they will grow.
I ended up buying more of the meds as they wanted to push my ovaries as much as possible! Fingers crossed you get lots of eggs!!
