IVF September/October 2021 cycle

Hi

I am just starting a new thread in case anyone else is falling into the September/October timings...I have been in other threads which have been so so supportive and a bit of a godsend really, but I'm a bit behind where everyone is up to.

I had a failed cycle in June unfortunately and didn't respond as they expected. Then was supposed to start again in august but unfortunately they saw a cyst on one of my ovaries so have delayed the next cycle to September (I think my stims will fall into October as they'll put me on norithisterone).

@Reefy I'm sure the feelings will pass. It defo is the unknown mixed with the meds I felt like that after my failed cycle and realised it was also exhaustion from constantly thinking about 1 thing. Sending you happiness!! Make some plans for the weekend maybe? Go for a nice coffee and cake and walk if you can, or whatever you enjoy doing!

My ET went well thank you. No issues, it was so quick this time, but probably because I knee what to expect. Test in 2 weeks and I've been relaxing since and plan to do nothing over the weekend.

@Coops0406 great news for you. I'm really happy for you, and glad you've got a plan to go ahead with. How comes you are doing biopsies?

@pkp11 oh yes it defiantly is physically, mentally & emotionally draining! Thank you. Well I'm trying not to really go far as our clinic is really strict & you have to do covid tests so I'm trying to limited where I go. I've got some hair to do tomorrow but I ask them to test before I go then I'm actually staying at my parents this weekend & my little 18 month old niece is staying so I'm enjoying spending the evening with her. She is in bed now so a bit of chocolate & chill time.

@pkp11 because I've had 2 very good embryos not implant (although they hadn't been tested), and at my age euploid embryos are few, they suggested some tests to check bacteria levels, infections that aren't picked up on standard swabs and to check the endometrium receptivity (apparently your endometrium can be more receptive to implantation on a different day to what is the norm, so based on those tests they may move the transfer day to give you the best chance of implantation). I think it's all just because I'm older and have these 3 euploids, they don't want to waste them if things can be tweaked in my womb

So after my finding a 20mm cyst on my ovary on my baseline scan they clinic got me back for an extra scan today. It has gone down to 18mm so they did some bloods to test my estrogen levels & said they would call me this evening after reviewing the bloods. Well they called this evening & said we are all good to start! I asked if I was wasting both our time with they cyst being there but she said absolutely not if we didn’t think it would work we would say. She said my estrogen levels were really low which was good & the doctor has reviewed & she was happy for us to go ahead! I said I can’t help but be in a negative mindset but the nurse said come on positive thoughts!
So round 3 here we go!

@Reefy great news! Like they said, they wouldn't give the go ahead if they weren't happy and it's reducing so that's good. I had a 1.5cm cyst during the last cycle and have always had a cyst during each cycle.
So are you starting tonight?

@Coops0406 yes true. Yeah I spoke to a friend who said she had 1 on her last fresh cycle. Yes I do my first one at 8pm.

How are you doing?

@Coops0406 how are you? Thansk for explaining, there's so much out there that doctors can do now, it's mind blowing!

I am well, had a weekend of rest. I'm off until Thursday so I've been relaxing. Reading my booking, watching a bit of TV and watching what I'm eating. So glad I've taken this time off

@Reefy I completely get it, I know its hard to stay positive and relax but it's the 1 thing we need to do right now! So when is your ET?

@pkp11 yes it is isn't it! So il have my collection on either 18th or 21st depends how quick I respond to the meds! Then transfer either 3 or 5 days after collecting so not long!

@Reefy Brilliant, not too much of a wait then. What meds are you taking, is it progesterone only? I'm on a high dose of progesterone atm which is making me feel all sorts of things! Lol

@pkp11 at the moment I'm on Menopur 225ml to stimulate then I will be on the old pesseries! Yeah I think the injections ones are deffo stronger! I'm having a blood test on day of transfer to see if I need anymore progesterone.

@Reefy how are the injections going? When do you find out if it's 3 or 5 day transfer? What will determine that? Will you be having more than one put in potentially?

@pkp11 how are you doing?

Not much to report here, trying to stay covid free so we can get to Paris on the 18th for a long weekend! Our only trip abroad now for quite a while! Then hopefully a week or so after we're back I'll start my oestrogen! 😍

@Coops0406 yes all good, I think I'm used to them now 😂. Had some more accupunture yesterday too. I won't know till day 3 as that what they did last time called me that morning. They made the decision as I only had 1 embryo that was doing well so they do it sometimes as they wonder if it will be better inside then out. I think they will still only say 1 as they still say I'm young but il be 36 in May but I will still ask embryologist on day of collection if maybe we can do 2 if they are lower quality with none that would the freezer. Wow that sounds lovely & definitely well deserved!

@Reefy good idea. My place are definitely not really open to putting 2 in and when you do the PGT-A you sign a form confirming you agree to only 1 euploid being put back in! I know I would definitely ask for 2 if they allowed it!
So you may be potentially having EC in just over a week!! 😃

@Coops0406 yes I understand why they wouldn't. My friend who is a few years younger then me had 2 put in, each clinic seems different. I personally think it will be 21st as didn't start stims till Monday but first round was 12 days second round was 10 days so who knows. Have first stim scan tomorrow so hopefully some eggys growing well already 🤞

Had my first stims scan today & they said 5 follicles on the left ovary (left is normally the lazy one) 3 on the right. I think she said there are a few smaller ones but they don't measure them ones. I was hoping for a few more after 4 stims. They said my cyst had shrunk a bit & I have 2 follicles at 12mm so I guess that was good. I have to add the lovely Fyremedal today too bloody thing! I know it's quality over quantity but we all just want lots of them don't we 😂. Come on follicles please grow!

@Reefy great news about the follicles! Don't worry more will pop up soon! Good luck with the fyremadel. This was my 1st time using it and I didn't like it at all.

@Coops0406 hope you're well and covid free! Great that you've booked in a little holiday! Always nice to have a break and have something to look forward too.

All good herr. Continuing with progesterone and feeling slightly bloated from it all atm. This 2ww is never easy though. I'm just trying to keep my mind of things as much as I can. Watched loads of films and had a lot of naps!

@pkp11 I know & even with this being the third time I still struggled to get it in! Yes I had only been on stims for 4 days as they started me a day later but still kept my scan as the same day so I wonder if that's why too so see what Monday brings🤞. I know it's just like the longest time isn't it! It's good your taking it easy.

@Reefy defo the longest wait. I find it hard to relax without actually doing anything too strenuous!
How are you feeling? I'm sure everything will go well tomorrow. Im hoping there's lots of little follicles visible for you.

@pkp11 when is OTD? Hope you are managing to stay relaxed and keep your mind busy.

Great news, France don't need you to have a negative LFT before your flight so although I wasted £22 on them, so glad we don't have to use them!!! 🥳

So second stims scan today, I have 5 follicles on the right side & 5 on the right. Some are measuring between 16-20mm so the nurse said they may trigger me tonight. It will be reviewed by the doctor later this afternoon then they will call me this evening to let me know! I’ve only been on stims for 7 days so was hoping for a little longer to try & get some more but guess if they are at the right size then they need collecting! Also it took 8 attempts to get blood from me today. A bit bruised now but at least they got it!

No trigger now tonight as doctor has reviewed & said she would like to give me another push although I'm doing really well. Hopefully collection Friday so another scan & bloods Wednesday, let's hope not 8 attempts for bloods again!

@Reefy Great news! That's exactly what got wanted. I completely understand the blood thing, it's horrible. Towards the EC I was the same, bruised arms on both side and theu didn't go for ages. How are you feeling?

@Coops0406 I am good thanks I definitely feel more relaxed this time around. My OTD is thursday. Getting a little nervous but excited too. Not sure how to feel

@pkp11 yes I'm pleased it's not Wednesday as I felt it was a little early & looking at my measurements I only had 2 follicles that seemed the size for collection, I had only done 6 days of injections too so pleased it's more! I feel absolutely fine in everything else so that's good. Glad you are feeling more relaxed this time round. Good luck for OTD 🤞.
