Hi everyone.

I couldn't find a thread for ivf cycles July/August 2021 so I hope it's OK to start one. I was on the March/April thread for my fresh cycle and it was so nice to have support from others going through the same thing.

My fresh cycle was successful but unfortunately I miscarried at 8 weeks pregnant. We are start a frozen cycle with one of our 2 frozen embryos. Aiming to start tablets around the 10th July with the hope of transfer towards the end of July.

Would love to know if anyone else is in the same boat or has any tips!

Work has been really busy this week (I only work 3 days so cramming stuff in) but it has been good because the days go fast. I can't believe it is transfer day tomorrow. This time round after FET I am chilling all the way out! I carried on as normal last time. I also feel less wired and more go with the flow despite this cycle having spanners thrown in left right and centre. Hopefully both of these things will make a difference.

Im currently waiting on the call to tell me what time my transfer is.

@girljulian glad you are feeling well after your EC. It only takes one so fingers crossed these eggs make some strong embryos!

@Purplemichelle i hope your transfer went smoothly and that you have a peaceful TWW!

@Hoping4baby21 all the best for your transfer tomorrow! I way overdid it with drinking water for a full bladder last time. Hopefully you won’t make the same mistake! Any nice things planned for after?

I think it’s a good idea to commit to taking things a bit more chill for your transfer! I’m working on a covid ICU and in operating theatres at the moment so it’s hard to keep the stress levels down!

I feel like these progesterone pessaries are making me absolutely boiling. Anyone else???

Hi guys, so embryo is in and now in the TWW. Gutted to find out I can’t submerge myself in water for 2 weeks as it can cause infection. Was planning to sit in our paddling pool after work to literally chill out.

Any advice for the TWW??!!

@Purplemichelle glad it went well for you! The TWW is annoying I won’t lie, my advice is take it easy the first few days. Find something to distract you (I read a lot of books and played the switch as I was off work last week for mine!) x

@girljulian two eggs is still really good!

@Hoping4baby21 I second what you said about relaxing. Take the time to enjoy the tww and have a break.

@beachbum85 it’s crazy when you start to recognise users isn’t it! Hoping everything is going well.

Update for me as OTD was yesterday- we have a strong positive so far. Scan booked for Aug so just watching to see if anything changes in the next few days/weeks. We won’t get excited for a while but I guess it’s part of how we cope with the journey! Sending love to all x

@MaggieMoo86 oh no that must be so tough! Will you have the weekend off? I can barely concentrate at work today it's too hot and I can't be bothered good thing I pushed so hard mom, tues. I plan to come home get some McDonald fries as per old wives tale. And binge watch Netflix! I have a few books as well so I'll definitely read. If anyone else has some fab ideas I'd love to hear them. I plan to chill mostly for the first 3 days.

I drank just enough last time but I plan to drink more this time just for peace of mind that it won't be difficult or anything.

I thought it was just the weather but MAYBE it is the progesterone!

@Itstime1 congratulations that is great news and I think our first positive of the group (someone do correct me off I am wrong). I understand being cautiously optimistic and I wish you an uneventful 9 months 🙂

@beachbum85 it was a nice distraction from work for a bit.

@Hoping4baby21 I’m about to start my first frozen cycle on a short protocol. Just waiting for my period to arrive! I’ve just finished a course of Provera so hopefully next week.

Morning all,

Just had the call to say one of my two eggs fertilised abnormally — which I didn’t even really know could happen! The other one fertilised fine. So now there is one.

@girljulian I'm sorry you had this abnormal fertilisation - I also hadn't heard of it! I have everything crossed for your one 🤞🤞
Did they say if they're aiming for a Day 3 or Day 5 transfer?

@beachbum85 thank you!! I did enjoy those fries back on the healthy bandwagon now though for the TWW. Gosh the full bladder is worse than the actual procedure there were a few moments I thought I might wet myself.

Hi everyone. Sorry I've not posted for a while. I've been following your progress and cheering you on but been a bit overwhelmed so haven't posted.

Best of luck @Purplemichelle @hoping4baby21 @Aprilia123 and anyone else in 2WW. It's such a tricky time. The not-knowing is so tough. I don't have any advice for surviving - I tend to throw myself into Mumsnet because I'm going to obsess anyway so at least I can obsess over other people's situations as well as my own.

@Itstime1 congratulations. Amazing news. I understand the need to be cautious but it's the first step to something good!!

Best of luck @girljulian I have had abnormal fertilisation before. It's not uncommon. Hope the next few days go well with your embryo.

I have my day 11 scan tomorrow so find out if I am triggering. Cycle seems to be going better than last time as follicles are more even sizes but no idea if this will translate into eggs/embryos. It's such a lottery.

Thanks everyone. Day 1 of the TWW has gone past so quickly. Have been engrossed in a big piece of work today which has helped. As did the fan in my face!!

Have felt a bit achy this evening similar to period pain. I don’t think it’s anything to worry about right?! Just normal as the body has been through so much already.

@girljulian the exact same happened with me, one fertilised normally and the second one which they didn’t even count on EC as they couldn’t see it properly didn’t fertilise. The clinic said it’s completely normal with low AMH. It is devastating as with only one you feel rubbish but just send all your positive vibes to your fertilising egg. Xx

@Janefx40 I totally understand being overwhelmed, sometimes you have to sip out. Glad this cycle is going better for you and I hope that translates to eggs.

@Purplemichelle congrats on being PUPO and I hope the rest of your TWW continues to go quickly and smoothly. Yes they said to me cramping is normal some people get it some do not. Best of luck ✨✨

I'll update the treatment updates tomorrow had a stinking headache all day today from when I woke up, it's this heat but managed to get rid of it.

@Hoping4baby21 thanks and sorry about the headache. I get a lot of them and they are a pain (literally!!)

@Purplemichelle cramping and period type pains are totally normal. You're taking a lot of progesterone and your levels will naturally rise and fall a bit so that can lead to cramping. It's disconcerting but right towards the end it can feel just like you are getting your period - so much so that I've spent my time running to the loo to check. But that hasn't meant a negative result in my case. Best of luck x

Thanks @Hoping4baby21 and @Janefx40. The cramps are quite worrying, it absolutely feels like a period!! I’ve had no other symptoms. Just hope this cycle has worked.

I was given antibiotics from EC which are due to finish tomorrow and they are giving me the most awful tummy, no constipation for me! It’s an absolute minefield and not being able to test until next Sunday spreads the anxiety further. Xx

Sorry about your headache @Hoping4baby21 and about your tummyache and cramps @Purplemichelle - I hope you both feel better soon. Progesterone really is the worst isn't it?!

Also I think Aprilia123 sadly didn't get to transfer this time, so we should update the status just in case it's upsetting

Thanks for the heads up I thought it might just be best to remove her status update just to avoid any upset. I hope that was the right thing to do, so there is not pressure etc.

@Janefx40 good luck with your scan today! I get headaches pretty regularly but funnily enough the last few months I haven't really had them so it was an unpleasant reminder for sure! Sorry you suffer headaches as well.

@beachbum85 I hadn't thought it might be progesterone but potentially! Between the headache and feeling hotter than normal you might be right.

@Purplemichelle I am getting what feels like "cervix cramps" at least that where I think they come from. Not very comfortable and I totally get the worry that it might mean it hasn't worked or just worrying in general.

Hey guys! Hope your all doing well.
Just an update had my scan and my lining isn't thick enough yet which they said isn't a problem so now have another scan Monday where she said it should be by then so now my transfer will be either Saturday or Monday!

Anyone have any ideas how to get your lining thinkness thicker?? I never had any issues with it before

@Alexm06 I have found that the below things help:

-castor oil packs with heat pad or hot water bottle for 30mins to an hour.
-red raspberry leaf tea or tablets can get the tablets from Holland and barter
-walks every day - nothing crazy but 30 mins or other light exercise to get the blood flow up

• vitamin e tablets 400iu per day

I only had 3 days from the end of my bleed to needing to be ready because of my follicle and LH surge indicating o was going to ovulate and it was 9.3mm by then and I did all of the above daily.

@Alexm06 I'm not sure it helped but I drank pomegranate juice (concentrated) daily to thicken my lining

Aprilia123 I'm so sorry if I caused any upset by getting your situation wrong. IVF is such a tough process and I know how upsetting it can be when things don't work out. Hope you're ok and sending lots of love. I've intentionally not tagged you so you won't get a notification but if you are reading the thread, hopefully you will see this. Xxx

My scan was sort of good. I had quite a lot of follicles sized between 13-19mm so was pleased but then they said they may trigger me today because 3 are over 16mm. So now I'm worried about that because that would leave the other 5-6 behind. I realise that might sound like a healthy amount either way but I'm 44 so I have about a 5% chance of any of them being viable so I really need as many as possible to stand a chance. Anxiously waiting for the phone call but hoping they let me stim another day x

@Janefx40 ohhh I hope they give you the extra day or those 5-6 catch up anyway! 🤞 I know everyone's different, but last time I had 3 that were 11-12mm the day I triggered, and they ended up being mature and fertilized, so they might already be fine xx
