Hi everyone.

I couldn't find a thread for ivf cycles July/August 2021 so I hope it's OK to start one. I was on the March/April thread for my fresh cycle and it was so nice to have support from others going through the same thing.

My fresh cycle was successful but unfortunately I miscarried at 8 weeks pregnant. We are start a frozen cycle with one of our 2 frozen embryos. Aiming to start tablets around the 10th July with the hope of transfer towards the end of July.

Would love to know if anyone else is in the same boat or has any tips!

Hi @chocolate336 I have overactive thyroid an been through ivf am currently 15 weeks pregnant on Tuesday. I was out on propothyoriicil (spelling is wrong ) this medication is safe in pregnancy so make sure you let doc know you having fet December so he can put you on safe meds. Once you reach 12 weeks pregnant your meds will then change good luck xx

beachbum85 · 03/10/2021 20:03

Hey @chocolate336! I have thyroid issues too... My TSH was close to 5 when the fertility consultant wanted it below 2.5, so it's considered subclinical hypothyroidism and I'm on thyroxine. It only took a month to 6 weeks to get the level down, so I'd try get everything rechecked quickly and hopefully you can still go ahead with Nov/Dec. If it's your TSH, 3.2 is not far from the 2.5 mark :)

chocolate336 · 03/10/2021 22:48

@tmc2021 thanks so much for the reply...will get my bloods done and take it from there! X

@beachbum85 My bloods must have been fine when I started privately but my NHS doctor has picked up on it now....my dad has thyroid issues and a few of his family too! So yes...as you said...trying to get bloods done ASAP before possible FET soon. He said he wasn't concerned and didn't say a level he wanted it at...but I had been reading 2.5 as you said....will see what my bloods say this time round Confused

beachbum85 · 08/10/2021 11:26

Hey, how's everyone doing?

@chocolate336 did you manage to get your bloods done?

@Janefx40 have you started the mock cycle with ERA?

@Bobtat and @Reefy have you started again?

@Bethpalmer20 have you got any of the tests scheduled?

Wishing you all a great weekend xx

Bethpalmer20 · 08/10/2021 11:43

Hey @beachbum85 thanks for checking in. How is everything going with you? I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to keep up with the thread.

We haven't officially booked them yet but will probably do so at some point next month. I think we are on the same page about which tests we want to do etc which is good. Although he does believe they are pushing these tests to make more money out of us, however I think it's a small price to pay for something that could potentially give us some answers. I'd hate to look back and regret not testing. The clinic also recommended some alternative supplements to Wellmans conception so I'm going to see if I can persuade him to take them!

It still hits me hard some days. Feeling like maybe it's just not meant to be for us but I'm not going to give up yet. I think we will aim to do another fresh cycle at the beginning of the year and get ourselves into the best shape possible before then!

hey @Bethpalmer20 - glad you're on the same wavelength about the tests. You sound exactly like my partner and me, where he's more sceptical and I'd just rather do everything I can to get some answers. I really hope you do get them :) It must be really hard thinking of the new fresh cycle after everything you've been through this year, but seems like a good idea to have that aim for the beginning of next year and be able to rest/prep in the meantime. Sending you lots of strength - we're here whenever you're having a hard day and want to talk xx

I'm well thanks and just waiting for my first scan and hoping for good news 🤞🏼

Janefx40 · 08/10/2021 19:29

Hi @beachbum85 thanks for checking in. When is the scan?

@Bethpalmer20 hope the tests go well. They all sound like sensible ones to do. No idea if it's worth doing all the crazy stuff I'm doing!

I got my period today so starting mock cycle with a scan on Sunday morning. It's a natural FET so just a few scans then the dreaded biopsy :(

Hope everyone else is ok

Xxx

chocolate336 · 08/10/2021 22:06

@beachbum85 yes bloods all done and normal so don't need thyroxine! Hope your good! X

@Bethpalmer20 Hope your keeping ok....do you mind me asking what supplements they have recommended for your partner out of interest? X

beachbum85 · 09/10/2021 23:42

@chocolate336 that's good news! glad those results were positive for you :)

@Janefx40 glad to hear your period is here, and good luck for your scan tomorrow morning! hopefully the biopsy won't be as bad as you're anticipating 🤞🏼 will that be around midway through your cycle?

Scan was today and everything is progressing well sp far, and we saw a heartbeat... So fascinating and such a relief!!

Janefx40 · 10/10/2021 07:41

@beachbum85 that is wonderful news. Must have been so magical and such a relief! Are you 7 weeks? Xxx

beachbum85 · 10/10/2021 12:36

@Janefx40 yes, just over 7 weeks. My appt at our clinic is at 8 weeks on Thursday, but my partner can't join so we booked a private one slightly before to be together first time. It was truly amazing, I was grinning from ear to ear all day :) xx

Janefx40 · 10/10/2021 13:25

@beachbum85 I'm so pleased for you. I can still remember that first scan with a heartbeat. I started crying because I was so sure there wouldn't be anything there. The sonographer was quite alarmed!!

beachbum85 · 10/10/2021 19:08

@Janefx40 thank you so much! Haha I can totally imagine that :) those poor sonographers have quite the job! We had a really nice one but I felt like he was tempering our expectations from the start and I was getting so nervous I was thought I was going to be sick! Luckily there was no need for that but, yes, I'm sure I'll always remember that first visual :)

Bethpalmer20 · 13/10/2021 21:19

Thanks so much @beachbum85 so glad the scan went well, I bet it was magical! Xx

Thanks @janefx40 In my opinion, I'll do any tests they recommend. I don't think it can hurt (aside from the bank balance!) and I just would hate to look back and regret not doing them! I just hope we can get some answers x

@chocolate336 I haven't done too much research on them yet but I believe it was proxeed and impryl. They also recommended some form of probiotic. The one they recommended is over £100 a bottle 😳😳 so maybe I'll persuade him to start with actimel as I'm sure that's just a cheaper alternative and I already drink that anyway!

@Bethpalmer20
Oh wow....£100 a bottle...like we aren't forking out enough money as it is lol. If you knew it would 100% work and help you'd be happy to pay it lol x

Hi

I’m due to have ivf in the next few months. I’m going to be starting a new job which requires carrying a suitcase with the equipments in out of my car to the clinic. Do you think this would have a negative impact when doing ivf?

beachbum85 · 04/01/2022 12:12

A belated Happy New Year to all - I hope you had a good break and the year started out well for all of you!
I just wanted to come back and thank you for all the support last year... this group was a lifeline for me xx

I hope everyone is doing well and for all of those still waiting or starting new cycles in 2022 - I'm keeping everything tightly crossed that this is your year Star

girljulian · 04/01/2022 13:55

Happy New Year to you too @beachbum85!

Hi ladies
Any paying patients who would be doing a round soon?
In Feb 2022, I was supposed to do a second round of IVF at Guys (on NHS) and to my surprise I found out I was already 6 weeks pregnant. So cancelled IVF. But I had already received all of the medications, which due to COVID, I’ve been asked to just dispose of them - but I don’t want them to go to waste - I’m sure someone else can make use of these esp those who don’t get help on NHS. Please message me if you are doing a paid round and I can give you a full list of what I have. I’d love to help all of those who are still trying in any way I can.
