Hi everyone.

I couldn't find a thread for ivf cycles July/August 2021 so I hope it's OK to start one. I was on the March/April thread for my fresh cycle and it was so nice to have support from others going through the same thing.

My fresh cycle was successful but unfortunately I miscarried at 8 weeks pregnant. We are start a frozen cycle with one of our 2 frozen embryos. Aiming to start tablets around the 10th July with the hope of transfer towards the end of July.

Would love to know if anyone else is in the same boat or has any tips!

@Janefx40 Im glad your scan went well, could you push back and ask them what the negatives might be of going another day like pros and cons? And then make a decision? Something they say might sway how you feel or you might discover it isn't a bad idea to go another day either or that your prepared to take that risk and they will let you do it.

Thank you for all the well wishes!
Officially pupo with our little 4ab embryo. We had a very stressful time at the clinic as they said I had one embryo less than I did and were very certain of it. They thought they may have transferred one of mine last round rather than my partner’s! After the transfer we had to wait for an extra hour so a manager could come in and physically check in the lab!
It all turned out fine and the count we said was correct.

Oh well, onwards and upwards! We are going to take a walk up to maccies soon to get some chips!

How is everyone doing? Any nice plans for the weekend? It’s meant to be terrible weather here.

@MaggieMoo86 congrats on being PUPO!!! No plans this weekend as we are trying to limit contact but maybe a picnic in the park but like you said I bet as the weekend hits the weather will be terrible.

@Hoping4baby21 wow that is really quick! I'm really worried I'm going to ovulate as there we're 2 bigish follicles there. I mean the nurse wasn't fussed at all. But thank you for the advice I will try and do all of them!

@beachbum85 I have also heard this but couldn't remember if it was for follicles or lining but thank you! I will also try it I've never had it before but I think I like pomegranate so im sure it will be ok

@Alexm06 they told me to monitor with OPK sticks and tell them if I had a surge so you might want to do that if you aren't already even just for peace of mind. Hope it grows nice and quickly for you.

Hi all, hope everyone is doing well. I just had my baseline scan this afternoon and have started with stims. First one done and was quite okay actually. Progress scan booked for next Friday. Good luck to all those in their 2ww.

Hi all. Hope your cycles are all going okay. @Itstime1 congrats on your BFP. My OTD was on Wednesday and also had a BFP. Had a confirmatory B-HCG blood test at the clinic on the same day. Now the waiting until first scan in a week and a half... My toddler was born through IVF and I definitely had anxiety during pregnancy and had a few private scans. I think IVF just makes the whole thing feel very high stakes!

@cannonball8726 congrats that is great to hear! Wishing you a smooth and uneventful 9 months.

@cannonball8726 yeahhh congrats! amazing news :) Wishing you all the best for the next 9 months, startng with your first scan coming up! I can imagine the anxiety but I hope you get to enjoy your pregnancy too xx

@Janefx40 when did the clinic ask you to trigger? I hope you're feeling OK with everything and goodluck with your EC if it's coming up the next couple of days

@Alexm06 I really like pomegranate but I take the concentrated stuff as a shot anyway so I barely taste anything

@MaggieMoo86 congrats on your transfer! Sorry to hear it was such a stressful time though... you definitely deserved those chips! Yeah the weather's not great here (London) but better than the thunderstorms they predicted, so have been doing some gardening today :) what about you? Anything nice planned to get your mind off the tww?

Thanks @beachbum85 I triggered tonight but am having loads of ovulation type pain and cramps. I don't remember ever having this before (this is my 5th trigger shot!) so am now worrying that I've ovulated early. Also had a super stressful day so now worrying somehow everything is going wrong but we shall find out ok Monday.

@cannonball8726 congratulations. This is lovely news. I remember your name but not sure if that is from this time around or from when we were doing all this for the first one?

@MaggieMoo86 congrats on the transfer but all that stuff about the embryo sounds like a total headscramble!!! Glad it got resolved.

@Csparkles well done for getting your first scan out of the way.

I started my injections tonight. I panicked and couldn’t inject for over an hour. I finally injected though and it was absolutely fine.

@XjustagirlX well done, the first injection is so nerve wracking isn't it. I had my first one on Friday night. Will be adding the second one tomorrow morning - a bit anxious as the needle seems to be bigger compared to the evening one.

Hi guys. 4DP 5DT and already wishing the time away to test. This TWW is excruciating. Still have cramping, no spotting. Was told that spotting was good but equally if you don’t have it that’s ok too?! First ever cycle for me and am learning so much!

@Purplemichelle I feel you I am 3DP5DT transfer and whilst I do not want to test, I just keep thinking it hasn't worked and its just gunna be a big disappointment come OTD. I think I am just trying to mentally prepare for the disappointment. This is whole process is so tough! I've got not advise to make it go faster and because we are trying to isolate I can't even distract myself.

@Hoping4baby21 it’s complete torture! Is your isolation covid related? Isolation either way is so tough. I know what you mean about feeling it hasn’t worked. I think if this wasn’t IVF then you wouldn’t even know about the timings. This makes it so much harder. I thought the hard but was the stims and EC. So very wrong!

Going to take the dog out for a walk to distract myself. I’m keeping busy with chores and work again tomorrow. This time next week will be the test day eek!

I’m sorry to hear that some of you are going through a tough time mentally with the 2ww.
This is my second attempt and the first time I felt like I was going insane. It was really awful, I tested early and was BFN throughout.
If I can give you one piece of advice; it’s don’t test early. I had this idea in my head that I didn’t want to be surprised and disappointed on OTD and I felt kind of foolish not knowing. This time I have a different mind set. If it’s negative then it will be negative by test day too but I can save myself the awful disappointment early. I am going to treat these two weeks as me being pregnant.
No matter what happens, nothing can take that away from me.

@Purplemichelle yes just as a precaution though I just feel the need to be extra careful especially now things are more open.y first cycle I was so positive and in a really good headspace. This time I don't feel positive.

@MaggieMoo86 you know I did the same thing tested early because I didn't want a surprise from stranger but I think I might do the same and not test before OTD. Either way if it is negative it will suck but finding out before test day was really rough still hoping maybe by some miracle your beta would be different despite how unlikely that is.

@Hoping4baby21 totally understand that you want to be extra cautious. It’s definitely busier out and about. I’m wearing a mask everywhere too. Just ordered my food shopping to be delivered as don’t want to risk a busy supermarket at the moment. X

@XjustagirlX aaah well done 🥰 I started last night too! First Gonal F injection and didn't even feel it!

I have a feeling this is the easy one though as I start taking another one too from Friday!

Do you know when your first scan is?

@2021babyhope I’m taking ovaleap now. On Wednesday I start centritide? And my first scan is on Saturday. How about you?

@XjustagirlX ohh I start centrotide on Thursday too!

My first scan is on Friday so got all my fingers crossed for it! It feels like everything's going super quickly now, we spend so much time waiting don't we!

@2021babyhope exciting that we are on very similar dates.

Yes it all feels very quick. I’m so torn between getting too excited and then feeling let down if it isn’t successful or trying to be realistic.

So about 1 hour after my ovaleap injection i went full on crazy. I was so emotional and angry. Has anyone ever experienced this?

Hi @beachbum85 thank you for checking in — our update was positive on our one embryo, so, unless something terrible happens, I’m off tomorrow to have it transferred! Eek!

My sympathies to all of you in your TWW, it sounds like the worst part of all.

@girljulian best of luck for your transfer tomorrow.

@XjustagirlX top tip with cetrotide is to take it out the fridge half an hour before you need to use it. It can be quite hard to dissolve otherwise.

To all the 2WW-ers it is so tough. I've tried it all ways. First time I waited for bloods, second and 3rd I tested at home but on the day or day before. 4th I tested out my trigger and everyday after. That last way was quite interesting but definitely worse for my emotional health. It's hard not knowing but at least that way you can cling on to the possibility of being pregnant! And when you test negative as @Hoping4baby21 you go through the sadness then start convincing yourself a miracle could happen, then go through it all again. Urgh!! All the angst will all be worth it for the time it works out.
