Hi everyone.

I couldn't find a thread for ivf cycles July/August 2021 so I hope it's OK to start one. I was on the March/April thread for my fresh cycle and it was so nice to have support from others going through the same thing.

My fresh cycle was successful but unfortunately I miscarried at 8 weeks pregnant. We are start a frozen cycle with one of our 2 frozen embryos. Aiming to start tablets around the 10th July with the hope of transfer towards the end of July.

Would love to know if anyone else is in the same boat or has any tips!

Weirdly my ovary ache has gone down since I started the fyramadel (antagonist). Naturally this is making me panic that it’s caused all my follicles to inexplicably shrink or something! Is it possible that it just counteracts the sideeffects of the Ovaleap/Menopur? Anyone else experienced this?

Already made a mistake — start date 9 July!!

@girljulian well on one hand the ache easing is good it means you aren't edging closer and closer to ovulation which you don't want before collection. I'm sure they would prescribe a drug that would shrink the very follicles they need! Not the same drug but I did find after my trigger my discomfort eased and I was worried thinking that I had ovulated but all was fine. I'm sure you are too. When is your next scan?

Bit of a strange one here.
My ‘cyst’ turned out to be my monthly follicle! After a week of monitoring it, it went from 12mm to 20mm!
I have been LH testing at home and got my surge on Friday so my transfer is booked for next Friday. This has come around very quickly after my BFN last cycle.
The weird thing is, if my period had come on time this cycle would have been BANG on time whereas my period was actually delayed by around 5 days because of using prog pessaries before OTD. The body is a strange and powerful thing.
I’m making lots of plans to try and keep busy during the 2ww and I’m determined not to test early again. I am going to try and enjoy the time as if I am pregnant. If I’m not, then nobody can take that away from me.

I know you’re right but we love to worry, don’t we?

@MaggieMoo86 omg that means our situation was the same/similar? Were you on estrogen as well? What cycle day are you on?

I had a follicle although it didn't grown to the normal size they think the estrogen ended up suppressing it but then I had an LH surge on Thursday and transfer is booked for next Thursday so we will be very close.

My follicle was there super early and not expected to be there at all! Best of luck and baby dust ✨✨

@Hoping4baby21 it does seem like we are in exactly the same situation! How strange!
Well I’m now day 11 since I started bleeding but if I’d been on time I’d have been day 15. The last 2 cycles I’ve surged on day 13 and I had my surge on Friday. Very strange!
No oestrogen here (apart from my body’s own). My lining was 6.5mm on Friday and she said it needs to grow a couple more mm over the next week before transfer.
I started pessaries this morning, I’m doing them PR which is…interesting.
My transfer is on Friday!
I’m glad to have a buddy going through the same thing on the same timeline!

I've had 2 failed IVF with ICSI and currently on third cycle and at the end of my tww tomorrow when I need to poas but I'm all scared as I've had spotting since 8dp5dt and the spotting has just gotten a little more so I know it's the start of AF. I don't mean to give negative vibes but I feel so helpless and I'm just clinging onto any hope as I had two embies transferred so keep telling myself maybe one is still hanging in there. Please tell me I'm not going mad x

Hi everyone so I was supposed to call the clinic on the first day of my period but it just doesn't seem to be coming! I have been spotting for 6 days now but its not getting any heavier. I have taken a test and its BFN. I don't know what to do?!

Hey @iattc, you've done so well not poas before you were supposed to! It's entirely possible that the spotting is just one of the embies coming away the other one could still be happily in there! or it could even just be things settling. Good luck, I'm crossing everything for you!

I had my scan this morning and I've got one follicle at 20 mm, one at 18mm and one at 11mm, so I'm triggering tonight for egg collection on Wednesday. Here's hoping the 11mm grows 4mm in the two intervening days as it's supposed to --!

I have a few other tiddly little follicles but the nurse doesn't expect them to come to anything. I don't have huge high hopes for this cycle, but it's the best I can expect from my low AMH, endometriosis-ridden body, so we'll see what happens. The nurse spotted an endometrioma on my right ovary (which hasn't done anything) -- she said it was as if my ovary is the stone of an avocado and the endometrioma is the flesh. Lovely!

@Purplemichelle, how are you, lovely?

@Lolly2020 I think you should call anyway and see what they say. I know some clinics can give meds to make it come. Sorry your body isn't cooperating.

@iattc spotting can be a sign off both so try not to read into it too much. I know that is easier said than done though. Fingers crossed for you.

So I got a BFN on testing day. I called the clinic and they advised that I need to stop the pesseries and go in for a review. Also said my period will most likely come in a few days. I must be mad for still hoping but we just cling onto any bit of hope dont we?

All the best for your cycle I'm not really sure how to do reply thing but your follicles seem like a good size and just remember you only need 1!

@iattc so sorry about your BFN :( for me last time, my period after the BFN was a really emotionally difficult time so I'm sending you a huge hug and I hope you have the support you need over the next few days xx

I'm doing well, thanks, less excited than last time because we haven't really changed the plan much, so I'm not expecting very different results with the same approach, but a cautious mix of optimism and realism as much as I can

Carrying on with message! I feel relatively normal for the first time since Friday. My transfer of my only embryo is scheduled for tomorrow on the proviso it has survived since day 3, I’m thinking that as the clinic didn’t insist on the transfer on day 3, that’s a good sign. Will know in the morning if it’s a goer or not.

This process is utterly exhausting. Send your positive vibes for me tomorrow guys and hope you’re all doing ok. Xx

How is everyone feeling?
I’m getting ready for my transfer on Friday, well trying to! Unfortunately I have to do a night shift tomorrow :(

Had anyone got any tips for the 2ww? I felt like I went down a real rabbit hole psychologically last time so I don’t want the same to happen now.

All the best for Friday. It's easier said than done but I try to just keep busy with other stuff and not think about it, the more I think about it the more stressed I get. Hope it goes well, just enjoy the weather. Do something you enjoy at home, I love baking so I was baking a couple of times and I did a clearout of some winter stuff as it's been so hot 🙂

@Purplemichelle and @girljulian how are you doing? thinking of both of you today xx

@MaggieMoo86 I'm afraid I have no tips but I had the same problem last time round... thought of planning a few days away from home or something like that to distract myself. Failing that, I'll be trying a clearout as @iattc suggested, a new TV series, a short course, etc. but I know I need to be busier than last time. Good luck with your night shift today!

Had my EC this morning — the procedure was completely fine, painless, the nurses really lovely. Got 2 eggs, which isn’t brilliant, but I was only really hoping for three, so. Time to wait and see if they fertilise!
