Hi everyone.

I couldn't find a thread for ivf cycles July/August 2021 so I hope it's OK to start one. I was on the March/April thread for my fresh cycle and it was so nice to have support from others going through the same thing.

My fresh cycle was successful but unfortunately I miscarried at 8 weeks pregnant. We are start a frozen cycle with one of our 2 frozen embryos. Aiming to start tablets around the 10th July with the hope of transfer towards the end of July.

Would love to know if anyone else is in the same boat or has any tips!

So ladies i did a test just to see if the hcg was still in my system so at least i know when i actually do the test its a real result lol it obviously showed a faint positive but i know its the hcg shot as my embryo transfer was only yesterday. Thinking im just finding things to do now the injections are done 😆 🤣 😂 . Think i need a new hobbie. I was just curious.

@PurpleUnicorn01 need to keep busy and distract yourself from testing too early!

I have my follicle scan tomorrow to see if the new protocol has worked. I don't feel as bloated as I have in my previous rounds so am worried I won't be triggering tomorrow.

@girljulian thanks that's good to know! I'm not feeling too positive but AF is due tomorrow but I don't have any spotting like I normally do and I did get spotting last time I was on cyclogest and then it came 2 days later. But yeah other then that nothing. Congrats to you again!!! X

Thank you @helene2019, @beachbum85! I'm feeling a bit weird actually. Also, when I emailed to tell the clinic nurse, she was sort of odd about it? I have felt all along that she's been pessimistic; it's as if the idea of me getting one fertilised egg, one embryo and then actually a pregnancy goes against everything she's been trained in terms of MORE EGGS ALWAYS BETTER and she's cross about it. Ah well!

I’ve had my day 5 call. Out of 15 fertilised I have got 8 very good quality embryos. There is one more that is a blastocyst and they are waiting until tomorrow to see if it improves as it was borderline freezeable quality.

Most of the others turned into blastocysts but were only grade 3 average so they don’t freeze them.

@girljulian I am currently 8dp5dt is my first FET but test day is Friday 13th! Also why I'm not so positive hahaha

@XjustagirlX fabulous results - lots to be positive about. Are you doing a fresh transfer?

@Alexm06 Not too long to wait for you now. I'm a bit confused by people talking about AF coming - I thought if you get a negative test on OTD you stop your meds and then it comes after. Is that not right? I had a bit of spotting 4/5 dpt too this time

@Bobtat lol indeed yes that's what i used. It picked up the hcg from the trigger. I read that stays in your system for 10 days.

@girljulian what a strange reaction from the nurse!! don't let her get to you, it's always really encouraging to hear experiences that prove that you really only need 1!

@XjustagirlX wow that's a really high blast rate and amazing to have 8/9 for freezing. Huge congratulations!!

@PurpleUnicorn01 are you planning to see the trigger out and keep testing? I know some people prefer that approach... I'd never have the courage, I'm so scared of testing hehe

@Bobtat that's what i thought too but I knwo some people start bleeding even before they stop their meds. I started spotting like I do before my period a couple of days before OTD last time, so I knew deep down that I was out, but spotting 4/5dpt is really promising as implantation bleeding! 🤞🏼

@Bobtat yeah the cyclogest tend to delay your period so some people don't get it until the meds stop but yeah last time I had spotting like normal then my period started the day after stopping. My spotting tends to start 3 days before which was how it was last time so I knew it was coming but this time nothing so I'm hoping it's a good sign

@beachbum85 Thanks! I was wondering if it's a result of the damage done by the catheter from their multiple attempts during that traumatic embryo transfer tbh, but implantation bleeding is a much happier thought so let's go with that! Don't you hate how every "symptom" can be attributed to both pregnancy and something else entirely? It's enough to drive you mad!

@PurpleUnicorn01 I tested out my trigger one cycle. I was still getting a squinter on FRER 12 days later...frustrating but after a fresh transfer it is worth waiting until at least 14 days post trigger to test I reckon!

@Janefx40 thanks il wait past 14 days then my actual date will be 18 days past it. Its only next Friday but i feel like that's 5 years away lol

Just got home from transfer 🥰 was absolutely fine. And we had all 6 make it to blast!

So we transferred one and froze the other 5 🥰 couldn't believe it!

Feels so surreal but I'm so so pleased xx

Hi everyone sorry I've been quiet for a while. We questioned a cyst that was brought up throughout our last cycle and asked for it to be checked again. I had a scan yesterday and have been told that their isn't a cyst and I actually have adenomyosis. Its similar to endometriosis but is contained in the uterine wall. So now instead of started the stims for my short protocol this week the cycle has been cancelled and I am now going to have prostap injections for 3 months to try and calm down the adenomyosis. I'm gutted. I was so prepared to start our cycle and for it to be cancelled last minute is going to take some getting my head round. The thought of more months passing makes me feel so upset but we have to follow the consultants advice and hope that this new long protocol will get us the miracle we are so longing for. My OTD is the 20th august but I think lots of clinics have lots of different times!

Thankfully I've only got a 10 day wait! But still going to struggle 😅

@Lolly2020 I'm really sorry to hear that - how disappointing and upsetting for you, especially when you have got yourself all psyched up and ready to go. I've actually never heard of that but well done you for questioning the cyst. It's sounds like you did the right thing, even though it must be so difficult to process right now; they wouldn't cancel a cycle so late if they didn't think it was going to put you in a better position long term. Hope you can do something nice tonight to relax and try to take your mind off of things.
