@MF1981 that's totally understandable. You've been building up to it for so long and now the day is almost here. I hope you take some positives from the fact that your lining sounds great and you should be on track to get a decent number of eggs. Take care of yourself for the next few days xx

MF1981 · 16/11/2020 12:14

Thanks @Jane1284 I’m definitely taking positives but am also trying to prepare myself in case my old eggs aren’t good enough or we don’t get any embryos. Also trying to prepare myself for the freeze all possibility which will feel like a disappointment at this stage. How are you getting on?

Luludarty · 16/11/2020 14:40

Hey everyone, had my scan today and I only have 4/5 follicles which has totally shocked me because I have an AMH of 55. They are all massive (22.5mm) so I have to bring my egg collection forward a day to Wednesday. So trigger shot tonight. I can't help but feel so sad that so few have developed considering my preserve. I've had a cry and just trying to think that I can't do anything about this and just need to ride the process out. Hope you're all okay.

Jane1284 · 16/11/2020 15:05

@MF1981- I feel you. It's that fine line between staying positive and also preparing yourself for bad news just in case. I never know which one is best so I generally do both. I can understand the disappointment of a freeze all but if you're body is still under a lot of stress from the meds it could do you a world of good. I'm just waiting impatiently for AF which is due tomorrow.

@Luludarty I'm sorry you don't have as many follicles as you were hoping. i hope they are all great quality though! Did they say why they think you haven't got as many as they originally thought? This whole process is so stressful, waiting for news the whole time. All it takes is one good egg so I really hope all goes well. Good luck with your trigger shot xx

Luludarty · 16/11/2020 15:12

@Jane1284 thanks so much for your support. I feel so sad. I know it only takes one good one, but we have MFI so I'm worried that we haven't even got to the hard part where they have to find good sperms. They didn't say, my clinic are crap and I haven't had any progress scans so I'm a bit frustrated because maybe if I'd have got scanned more they could have picked it up and given me higher doses of stuff. But I can't think what ifs. Just need to do what I've got to do. I agree with what you said to @MF1981 there is a very fine line between staying positive but also not having too high expectations. That's where I went wrong before I think. I expected too much. All I want to do is drink wine and eat chips.

Jane1284 · 16/11/2020 15:21

@Luludarty I can understand your frustration and questioning your clinic and their lack of progress scans. Seems very odd! Sounds like you are being very pragmatic about not thinking about the what ifs and just focusing on getting through the process. I hear you on the wine and chips. I was 2 months with no booze on the weekend which was quite an achievement for me. It is my birthday in December so I have told myself that if this IVF doesn't work then i will commiserate with some wine. I might even sack off the whole healthy eating/no drinking until the new year. Silver linings.
Is there a possibility that the trigger shot brings more follicles to collection point? I really hope so xx

EasterBunny7 · 16/11/2020 15:22

@Rachae

Wow your experience was completely different to mine. Was there a reason you were on medication that kept you aware? That was what I was most terrified about after reading @dragonfly1978 and luckily I slept through the whole thing.

Fingers crossed for the next stage. Daffodil

Luludarty · 16/11/2020 15:39

@Jane1284 haha, it's got to be done, otherwise we'll all go insane. Also, Christmas & birthdays are the worst time for healthy eating. They just rang with my trigger shot time and my EC time slot. I asked about my low number and she said everyone responds differently and it is what it is pretty much. I think the other follicles are so small that there is no chance of them catching up. When she showed me them all in there, all small and ungrowing, I just wanted to shout 'grow damn it'.

MF1981 · 16/11/2020 15:49

@Rachae sorry I missed your post. Glad it went ok for you today. I have every intention of asking them to make sure I am not aware of anything that is happening! I want to sleep through the whole thing!

@Luludarty so sorry you feel disappointed and can understand why you feel that way. Strange they haven’t given you more progress scans. Fingers crossed you’ve got some lovely perfect eggs in those follicles. Good luck for collection - you can drink wine and eat chips after.

I just heard from the clinic. I’ve got to carry on as normal tonight, egg collection is booked in for Thursday and they’ll call me tomorrow with trigger time, theatre instructions etc. Maybe I’ll ask about the sedation then. So so nervous now!

Emmalouise11 · 16/11/2020 16:06

Hey guys hope everyone’s doing ok!

Egg collection went well had a bit of a panic laying there and then I didn’t remember a thing after that lol. They got 10 eggs which there happy with so if all goes well my transfer will either be Thursday or Saturday.

How you feeling @Rachae? X

MF1981 · 16/11/2020 16:54

Well done @Emmalouise11! Rest up now x

Rachae · 16/11/2020 17:44

@Easterbunny7 no idea! It was called conscious sedation so I had paracetamol, morphene, fentanyl and a sedative on an IV. They said some women fall asleep and some women don't. I guess it was kind of interesting to watch it all.

I had 21 follicles in the end and they took 18 eggs... If that helps anyone with the follicle to egg collected ratio. I think I'll def get a spot of OHSS tho as I've been in bed all day and can't move, tummy hurts too much xx

Rachae · 16/11/2020 17:44

@Emmalouise11 hope you're ok? Xxx

MF1981 · 16/11/2020 18:21

@Rachae feel for you. I’m pretty much guaranteed to get OHSS then as I have even more follicles than you. Keep us updated. Have they told you to do anything to help it?

Rachae · 16/11/2020 18:58

Thanks @MF1981 nothing specific no, just to monitor my weight, pain and size of tummy. Usual stuff like rest and drink plenty of water. I'm hoping I can last and be ok for the transfer on Saturday.. That's the main thing now to get to that! Also curious to know how many fertilise tomorrow xx

MF1981 · 16/11/2020 19:16

Have they said you can have a fresh transfer then @Rachae?

Rachae · 16/11/2020 19:31

They didn't say much to be honest! Just that they'll ring me tomorrow to tell me how many fertilised. I think it depends how my symptoms progress. I'm hoping to feel better tomorrow. Cant believe I've slept the entire day! Xx

Emmalouise11 · 16/11/2020 19:35

Yeah I’m okay @Rachae, Hopefully you feel better tomorrow and get good numbers! I find it so strange that down there is not even sore lol. Hopefully I have some that have fertilised they ended up having to swap to isci instead. So hopefully that works out.

Rachae · 16/11/2020 19:42

Yea totally.. Not sore at all! Just all in the tummy area for me.
Oh wow, what's Isci? Yes fingers crossed... I don't know how I'm going to sleep haha. Probs going to be like this for us for the whole week! Xx

Emmalouise11 · 16/11/2020 20:30

@Rachae hopefully that pain goes tomorrow. It’s where they inject a bit of sperm into the actual egg instead of letting them mix together on their own. Xx

dragonfly1978 · 16/11/2020 20:53

@Rachae sounds exactly the same as the sedation I had. Fingers crossed lots of your eggs fertilise 🤞.

dragonfly1978 · 16/11/2020 20:54

@Emmalouise11 good luck with the icsi, that's what we had last week and 8 out of the 14 fertilised so fingers crossed for you 🤞

Emmalouise11 · 17/11/2020 09:39

Thanks @dragonfly1978 just waiting for the call now to tell me if any have fertilised. Fingers crossed.

How you feeling @Rachae? X

Rachae · 17/11/2020 09:59

Hey @Emmalouise11 how are you? Fingers crossed! I've just had my call. 14 eggs of fertilised Smile Fingers crossed some make it to day 3 now!

I'm feeling much better.. Tummy still sore but I don't think I've got OHSS xx

MF1981 · 17/11/2020 10:03

Great news @Rachae! We’re having icsi too due to mfi. So glad you’re feeling better and don’t appear to have OHSS. Fingers crossed it stays that way x
