August IVF

Had a quick look through but can't find an existing thread. Anyone due to cycle in August after a bit of moral support?

We are due to start our 2nd cycle of icsi for male azoospermia and my premature ovarian aging (full house for us!)

@Custardandcream good luck for your transfer.

And good luck to everyone in the 2WW, got my fingers crossed for all of you.

I’m having bad anxiety and a sense of dread that things are not going to work out at the moment, today is the day I have to stop cyclogest. Really wish my clinic let me stay on it for peace of mind and also wish they did a beta test! I’ve had no reply to my email yesterday confirming test outcome either. But I’m also so endlessly grateful to them and know I’m so lucky to get this far so it feels wrong to complain. I was not an anxious person at all before IVF, DH thinks it’s all the hormones that have done it!

MsNoons17 · 28/08/2020 08:59

Good luck with transfer today @Custardandcream.

Mseddy · 28/08/2020 09:26

@Custardandcream good luck with transfer today. Thinking about you and your little frostie

@kikisparks your clinic know what they are doing I'm sure. They want you to be pregnant just as much as you do, partly becuase they must care to be in that profession in the first place, and partly because they want their clinics figures to look good. So don't stress, try and trust them. You could always get your beta checked somewhere privately if it's worrying you so much?

I'm writing this here so I have witnesses.

"today when my FRERs arrive in the post, I am going to put them in the bathroom cabinet and not even think about them until at least Monday"

P.s they have literally just fallen through the letter box as I was typing this! Freaky!!

@kikisparks Sorry you're feeling anxious hun, I think infertility (and baby loss) robs us of the normal experience of joy that pregnancy can bring. Someone on my Facebook announced their "surprise" pregnancy at 5weeks and 5days a while ago and I was absolutely shocked (not in a judgey way, it just made me realised how different the experience is). I know it's cheesy but just remember how strong you are and how much waiting you've already endured. I don't know if you've seen the (very popular) mantra "today I am pregnant" but it helps some people. Sending hugs.

CardboardCat · 28/08/2020 10:33

@Mseddy hahahaha I believe in you!!! Keep those bad boys hidden away.

loulamay · 28/08/2020 10:37

@kikisparks - I'm with you today! Have a rotten cold which is not helping, but also thought my boobs were starting to feel sore last night and now they feel normal so I'm worried that it's a symptom of something wrong.

@CardboardCat - you are so right. Anyone who has never had a miscarriage or struggled with infertility has no idea how guarded it makes you feel.

@Mseddy - hahaha STAY STRONG!

nextweek · 28/08/2020 10:56

@Mseddy You're a stronger woman than me if you can stop yourself from testing!
I'm 6dp3dt and the time is dragging. I'm going to try not to buy tests, if I have them in the house I'll definitely use them!

Mseddy · 28/08/2020 11:52

@nextweek they wernt supposed to be arriving until Monday. But I checked the tracker today and saw that they where coming today instead. I'm 4dp5dt so we are technically the same. It's far too early today and the rational part of my knows that. Tomorrow is too early too, but I'm pretty sure I know how it's going to go tomorrow morning 😂 I have 4 FRERs and the clear blue the clinic gave me, plus 4ICs left over from testing the trigger out! So I have plenty of tests haha

OP posts:
nextweek · 28/08/2020 12:00

@Mseddy at the moment I'm of the mindset that if its bad news I don't want to know yet, but a few more days and might change my mind! My AF has always arrived bang on time so I've never done a test before, maybe I should buy some nearer test day as backups in case I mess up the one the clinic gave me!

Mseddy · 28/08/2020 12:32

@nextweek the cyclogest stopped my period last time. It only came after I stopped taking the cyclogest. So I'm not sure waiting for your period is even a thing in ivf!

OP posts:
nextweek · 28/08/2020 12:37

@Mseddy yeah my AF would normally arrive this coming Monday but since I'm on cyclogest I'm not expecting to get it even if the IVF hasn't worked, my test day is a week on Sunday.
Have you found that any types or brands of tests are better than others if I do want to buy some as extras?

Mseddy · 28/08/2020 12:55

First Response Early Result are the most sensitive and reliable I think. I got mine from superdrug online

Thanks @Mseddy I might order some but try to have them arrive closer to testing day

Who announces a pregnancy at 5 weeks on social media? Someone who clearly wants attention and probably did plan it. Sorry I’m judging which I don’t normally do 🤣 x

Lepatz · 28/08/2020 14:52

Hi everyone :)

Phew, I've just been out for a bit of a country walk- the sun finally came out. I can tell I'm more tired than usual... but as always it could just be the damned cyclogest!! It was a bit more of a scramble than I was expecting, kept hoping that I wasn't overdoing it :/ Definitely the most exercise I've done since starting stims. I made sure not to jump or twist myself on the rocks though. Hopefully just got the blood going!

5dp today! I'm travelling home on Sunday, so planning to test on Monday which will be 8dpt5dt. There's a slight temptation to test here, but definitely would prefer to be home for it. Ordered frer this morning from Amazon- they have a good price :) Eeek, getting close for a few of us.

@Custardandcream good luck with the transfer today xx

@kikisparks sorry you're having a wobble, hope you feel better soon x

kikisparks · 28/08/2020 14:58

@Mseddy thank you, logically you are right of course but my brain can’t seem to think logically just now Confused. The temptation to test is so powerful isn’t it? I think FRERs have a fairly high chance of a false negative at 5dp5dt so it’s just weighing that up against whether you’ll feel better having given it a go!

@loulamay sorry to hear about your cold and worries with symptom spotting- i think though that it’s really normal for things like sore boobs to cone and go! My main symptom just now is cramping which isn’t helping the anxiety even though I know cramping at this stage is common and can be normal.

@CardboardCat thanks so much for your kind words. That’s so early to announce from that person on Facebook! Would be nice to feel that relaxed about it though haha.

@nextweek I’d suggest FRER too. Internet cheapies have shown up as nearly negative for me when I’ve had decent lines on FRERs.

kikisparks · 28/08/2020 14:59

@Lepatz not long to the day you’re going to test now! Fingers crossed for you.

loulamay · 28/08/2020 15:22

@kikisparks like you say, all logic and rationale has totally gone out the window! BlushConfused

Mseddy · 28/08/2020 17:23

I've just had my first perk of IVF. For the first time in 13 years I've had enough time off work to grow a decent set of nails! So I've just had them manicured since I have another 3 weeks off work. The girl who does them has been through 2 rounds of IVF and ended up adopting a few years ago so it's like a therapy session as well! I'm actually feeling quite relaxed today Grin

Hi everyone

@Custardandcream I hope your transfer went well 🤞🏻
@Mseddy a bit of self care sounds perfect right now!

Early announcements are just the worst aren’t they! Some people have no clue how hard it can be!

So I went to clinic today after speaking to my consultant. They’ve done a hcg blood test and I’ll get the results tomorrow. They’ll repeat on Sunday and Tuesday. The consultant did say it was a concern the clear blue hadn’t moved from 1-2 to 2-3 but wanted to check bloods Incase. They’ve also started me on fragmin injections. Has anyone else had these? I’ve just had one and oh my god they STING like mad!

Mseddy · 28/08/2020 18:02

@elly1685 that all sounds positive that they are doing bloods and have started you on fragmin. I'm not on them but I have heard from others that they sting alot. It'll be worth it in the end though. Fingers crossed for your bloods 🤞🏼
