Had a quick look through but can't find an existing thread. Anyone due to cycle in August after a bit of moral support?

We are due to start our 2nd cycle of icsi for male azoospermia and my premature ovarian aging (full house for us!)

@West2401 well done!! 8 eggs is fab! Especially since there was talk of abandoning! Well done ovaries!! Nice chilled evening for you now. Fingers crossed for lots of embabies by morning

@West2401 8 eggs Is great news. Rest well tonight.

loulamay · 28/08/2020 20:38

Yay @West2401!! Have some well deserved sleep tonight, you must be so relieved that's over!

@Elly1685 - if Fragmin is similar to Clexane, then I can empathise. Been giving myself an injection a day of that for the past few weeks! Tip: wipe any liquid off the needle point first, seems to sting less. I do mine sitting down so that I can grab as much tummy as possible. Also best to jab it in as fast as you can! Don't rub the skin afterwards, that made me bruise even moreShock

Custardandcream · 28/08/2020 21:38

Thank you everyone for your good luck messages, the embryo survived defrost and is now on board! I felt randomly really calm after transfer not sure how long that’s going to last though!

@Mseddy good luck with staying away from the tests!

@kikisparks Hope your anxiety has calmed down a bit, the drugs do mess with your emotions a bit so you might feel better off the cyclogest

@Elly1685 Good luck for your results tomorrow

@West2401 8 is fantastic! Fingers crossed for fertilisation

Jacky83 · 29/08/2020 03:20

Hi everyone.

@West2401 well done on 8 eggs! That is fantastic.

Sorry I’ve been quiet for a couple of days. Trying to not think about it (ha ha yeah right) so avoided the forum for a bit.

Woken up with craps which is usually a sure sign AF is coming. I always get terrible period pains. Not feeling very hopeful at the moment. 7dp5dt. Haven’t tested yet and daren’t now in case it confirms the worst.

Jacky83 · 29/08/2020 03:21

*cramps not craps

Mseddy · 29/08/2020 07:56

@Jacky83 I think alot of people get AF like cramps and its not so I would try not to worry. When are you thinking of testing?

I've woken up this morning feeling a little sore again, like I'm back in the stim phase almost

CardboardCat · 29/08/2020 08:30

@Elly1685 I'm on Clexane which I think is very similar to Fragmin. I must admit, it's getting a bit gnarly around the injection sites- bruised and some very tender knots under the skin. I like feeling like I'm still doing something though so I'm quite happy to keep going lol. Trying to control the uncontrollable!

I've had a really busy couple of days at work and they've been quite stressful- I do worry that I'm not taking it easy. I wasn't thinking about what I was doing on Thursday and lifted a really heavy bag of shopping out of a trolley, twisted to put it in the car and felt a painful twinge in my uterus. I could have cried. I'm trying to be much more mindful about what I'm doing now. Only two more shifts and then tomorrow afternoon we drive to Pembrokeshire for a mini-break (with my in-laws lol, not sure what I was thinking there!).

@West2401 So glad the retrieval went well and you got some good eggs! I hope you feel alright and have a well deserved, chilled weekend.

loulamay · 29/08/2020 08:41

@CardboardCat - I am struggling to find new parts of my stomach that aren't bruised from the Clexane so I can inject! Are you just on 0.4ml a day? I do like the fact that they come pre-made so no messing around with vials. I'm so sorry, I can't remember back to your history, is it because of miscarriage or something else? They seem to be a possible fix for a few issues that I'm really hoping is making mine stick!

@Jacky83 - not sure what your cycles are like but I got period-like cramps on the day that should have been my period, so don't know if it's linked. Good luck if you decide to test!

@Custardandcream - yay PUPO!!

Jacky83 · 29/08/2020 08:46

Trying not to panic. Thanks for the reassurance @Mseddy @loulamay

Got a weird symptom this morning. My boobs are really warm. Anyone else had that? They are like two hot water bottles!

YouCanButTry · 29/08/2020 09:13

Hi Ladies,

I'm late to the party but I've been watching this thread for a couple of weeks and thought I'd say hi. I had my EC yesterday, for my 2nd round of ICSI, got 6 eggs which I'm pretty pleased with. Waiting to hear about how many fertilized.

@West2401 we seem to have been on very similar path - I also had a scan on Monday and I was thinking about you yesterday.

@CardboardCat and @loulamay I asked about other injection sites for Clexane yesterday because my tummy is feeling pretty sore from long protocol of Suprecer and menopur injections daily. They said that upper thighs are fine too, if you imagine where your jeans seam is down the outside of your leg. I did my first clexane yday and boy it hurts! Ended up bursting into tears - proper ugly crying too. I think I was just tired/drained and I wasn't expecting it to hurt as much as that. I really hope I can get used to it.

I've got a nice relaxing day ahead and hubby has just gone out to buy something decedent for breakfast. I hope you're all ok, and all the best to everyone on your journeys!

kikisparks · 29/08/2020 09:42

@Custardandcream that’s great, yay!

@Jacky83 I’ve been cramping since about 5dp5dt and still cramping now at 12dp5dt, it didn’t stop my embryo from implanting so don’t lose heart! It can be caused by progesterone and is really common, definitely doesn’t mean you’re out!

@YouCanButTry well done on your 6 eggs! Good luck!

West2401 · 29/08/2020 10:00

Just had a call from the embryologist and 7 of the 8 eggs have fertilised! Elated! Got a video call on Wednesday to see how they are getting on. Lining had thickened up yesterday so they are hopefully going for transfer Wednesday afternoon 😁

Hope everyone manages to have a nice relaxing weekend 💕

kikisparks · 29/08/2020 10:12

@West2401 that’s wonderful, congrats!

Mseddy · 29/08/2020 10:18

@YouCanButTry welcome. Well done on your little eggs. Fingers crossed for some nice fertilised embryos this morning!

I'm glad it's the weekend and my DH is off so I can't sit around googling shit about ivf trying to second guess if it's worked. I have the same feeling I had last time. It's hard to explain but I just suddenly feel detached from it all. Like there is no embryo there and I'm 100% not pregnant. I know there is no way of knowing for sure so early, but I just knew last time. Then I got really angry when people kept telling me it was too early to tell and stay hopeful. Hopefully this time when I call it people will at least belive me and not try and tell me to be positive and tell me I might be one of them rare people that doesn't get a positive until they are ready to give birth! Sorry needed that little rant

Elly1685 · 29/08/2020 12:03

@YouCanButTry and @West2401 well done on your egg collections. And we’ll done on 7 fertilised west ! That’s amazing.

@CardboardCat I’ve only had one fragmin so far and it hurt like hell! I’m such a squeamish person too

So the clinic rang and at 17dp5dt my hcg is 74. I am devastated. I just know this is ectopic. I’ve had 7 transfers and in that they’ve all been bfn and 1 ectopic and now this suspected ectopic. I honestly don’t know if I’ll ever want to try again. The clinic want to do bloods Sunday and Tuesday but I got my bfp on digital last Saturday which was a 25hcg test so I know my hcg has only risen 50hcg in a week Sad

kikisparks · 29/08/2020 13:47

@Elly1685 oh I’m so very sorry Flowers that’s heartbreaking and horrible to be left in limbo until Tuesday.

Just take care of yourself as much as you can, do you have some IRL support?

Elly1685 · 29/08/2020 13:58

Thanks @kikisparks - I am beyond devastated and now worried that I’ll have to cope with a potential ectopic until my scan on the 15th of sept. They said they won’t do anything until then as they don’t know where it is. I’m terrified Sad

loulamay · 29/08/2020 14:05

@Elly1685 I'm so so sorry to hear your news. Are you having any other symptoms or pain anywhere? They surely can't let you just suffer until the 15th if there's any risk to your health. I would be kicking up a massive fuss at the clinic until I got an earlier scan. Sending you a huge hug.

Mseddy · 29/08/2020 14:17

@elly1685 so sorry to hear that Flowers its so hard that you have to wait until Tuesday. I've got everything crossed that your hcg rises

OP posts:
Elly1685 · 29/08/2020 14:18

@loulamay I have a second lot of bloods tomorrow. The nurse said it’s too early to say it’s ectopic even though I told her my reasoning - low rising hcg. I also have pain in my left shoulder but I don’t know if that’s because I’ve slept funny or if I’m just being paranoid about symptoms. I’ve had nausea for about a week but again with hcg of 74 - I feel this might be the stress. It’s nearly two years to the day that I went through my last ectopic. I feel like I’m in a nightmare

Elly1685 · 29/08/2020 14:19

Thanks @Mseddy. I appreciate the support on here Flowers I just feel that a week ago my test showed positive which must have been 25hcg and a week later it’s only 74. That doesn’t seem right does it?

loulamay · 29/08/2020 14:25

@YouCanButTry - hi and thanks for the tip! I thought about the top of my bum too, if I can bend that way. I would ask OH to do it but he's terrified of needles Wink Good luck with you egg haul!

YouCanButTry · 29/08/2020 15:39

@Elly1685 oh my word, that sounds so tough!! I'm so so sorry. I can't even imagine how you are feeling right now, it must be utterly devistating. I'll keep my fingers crossed that things improve, but if not, I hope you can go easy on yourself and give yourself some pampering time and time to heal.

@West2401 that's wonderful news about having 7 embryos. Thats a brilliant result.

Thank you everyone else for your kind words. We have 4 embryos so we have the transfer on Wednesday at 11:30. It'll be hard not having any updates on progress until then but no news is good news so I'm going to enjoy this time and my upcoming week off work.

Custardandcream · 29/08/2020 21:23

@YouCanButTry & @West2401 great news on your embryos!

@Mseddy sorry to hear you’re having a bad day, hang in there

@CardboardCat try not to worry about over doing it, my clinic say there isn’t anything you can do at this stage and carrying on with your daily routine is fine

@Elly1685 so sorry you are going through that Flowers
