Had a quick look through but can't find an existing thread. Anyone due to cycle in August after a bit of moral support?

We are due to start our 2nd cycle of icsi for male azoospermia and my premature ovarian aging (full house for us!)

Morning all. I caved and tested yesterday but wanted to check and test again this morning, but... BFP over here!!

Crazy because I have barely any symptoms and was sure it hadn't worked. Going to do a beta blood test today and just pray that the numbers look good, as this is the same way it started last cycle which ended in a chemical. One day at a time...

Lots of love and luck to everyone today!

kikisparks · 21/08/2020 07:03

@loulamay yay!!! Huge congrats! Good luck for the beta.

kikisparks · 21/08/2020 07:06

@Mseddy meant to say congrats on 11 fertilised eggs that’s great! My clinic only call on day 3 if they decide they’re going to do a day 3 transfer otherwise you get no calls between day 1-5. A progress update tomorrow for you would be nice though!

Bruce2 · 21/08/2020 07:17

Had cramping all through the night, kept checking for period, woke up early this morning with bad cramping and (sorry TMI) diarrhoea.

Then this happened.

Needed to take to confirm for clinic I was out as phone call in 45 mins with them

I was shaking so badly my husband thought I was going to collapse

I'm definitely not out of the woods, this is the long journey with lots of twists & potential disappointments but for today only I'm the happiest girl in the world

Ladies....don't give up hope

@Bruce2 aaaahhh congrats! So much good news today Smile

Lepatz · 21/08/2020 09:10

@Bruce2 YAYAYAYAY! This is brilliant news - you must be over the moon! A good strong line too :D

@loulamay going strong, congrats!! Grin

@CardboardCat @Custardandcream Good luck for your collections today!!

Happy Friday! Hoping the good news keeps coming in for everyone who's looking for it Star

Mseddy · 21/08/2020 09:10

@loulamay and @Bruce2 congratulations!! This is a luck thread so far!! That line is soooo dark Bruce. How many embryos did you have put back?

@CardboardCat good luck for today. Got everything crossed for lots of nice eggs. My husband knows I have my online friends who are going through it too Grin

I woke up a few times in the night to go to the loo and was in alot more pain than I had been. Just woke up now and I'm still in pain. Starting to worry something is wrong, although I don't think 16 eggs is enough to trigger OHSS.

@CardboardCat good luck with collection today! X

CardboardCat · 21/08/2020 09:28

@Bruce2 and @loulamay Wooohooooo!!!!!!! Congratulations both!!!!

Jacky83 · 21/08/2020 09:42

@Bruce2 @loulamay Congratulations!!!

Good luck to everyone going in for egg collection today.

I've gone on strike with the cyclogest. Rang the clinic this morning and told them I wasn't taking any more until someone explains to me why I'm on 1,600mg a day. Bit extreme and panicking a bit but feel SO MUCH BETTER. No more nausea which has been constant since tuesday. In honesty I'll probably cave and take in in an hour out of fear but we've called the clinic twice questioning the dosage and had no response so hoping this might get one.

Lepatz · 21/08/2020 09:43

@Mseddy I'm still in pain from the EC too. Hobbling about! I think it's easing a bit now after three days. Worth giving your doc a call if it's getting worse though. I've been dosing on painkillers and drinking TONS of water :).

Mseddy · 21/08/2020 09:46

@Lepatz I'm going to have another chilled day and give the clinic a ring this afternoon if I'm still hurting as much. I'm hoping the hurting through the night was just because my bladder was getting full maybe? It deffo hurts more when I need to pee! It's like there isn't enough space in there for swollen ovaries and a bladder haha

OP posts:
Lepatz · 21/08/2020 09:53

@Mseddy Yes - I have exactly this - there's a capacity issue in there somewhere haha. One of my issues is that it wakes me in the night - but then I can't get back to sleep.

TMI - I also suspect I'm 'blocked' in other ways too. Not something I have ever suffered from, so not quite sure what to do about it!!

kikisparks · 21/08/2020 09:55

@Mseddy it still hurts when I need to pee too! 9 days after egg collection, I think the same thing about the ovaries and bladder wrestling for space lol. I think it’s getting better though, just a little bit better each day. I still can’t fit any of my jeans due to bloating!

kikisparks · 21/08/2020 09:56

@Lepatz I tried prune juice, it’s not pleasant stuff to drink but seemed to work!

kikisparks · 21/08/2020 09:59

@Lepatz I saw you asked about time off, I took 3 days, 2 for egg collection (day off and day after) and one for embryo transfer (day of). Wish I could have taken a few days after transfer off too but I don’t want to use all my annual leave. The other hospital appointments I told my boss and worked back the time, it is easier as I’m still working from home ATM though.

Jacky83 · 21/08/2020 10:00

@Mseddy @Lepatz @kikisparks Thank god it's not just me. More pain when my bladder is full. Same issue for other things too, that is bloody painful! I assumed the same, everything is jostling for space down there.

MsNoons17 · 21/08/2020 10:04

Oh wow congratulations @Bruce2 and @loulamay that’s amazing news!!
Good luck to all having egg collection today.

LongtermTTC · 21/08/2020 10:38

Sorry to jump in guys, but had a very cryptic call from the clinic this morning to say they’re “not sure” if our only egg, that was collected yesterday, fertilised or not. Apparently it’s “showing some signs of fertilisation but not all” and could be that it either fertilised early and they missed it or that the egg “activated itself” and could continue to develop without being able to tell if it’s a viable embryo with any paternal DNA. Has anyone else experienced this???? Feel totally blindsided by this and don’t know what to expect

Bruce2 · 21/08/2020 10:39

Thank you everyone for all the lovely messages.
I'm still in disbelief

I only put one embryo back
4 Frosties incase this ends in disappointment somewhere down line!

Bruce2 · 21/08/2020 10:41

Clinic have put me at 4 weeks + 3
So roughly end of April if it all works out ok

StayingPositive8 · 21/08/2020 10:51

Sorry been off here for a couple of days, so much to catch up on!!

@loulamay @Bruce2 Congratulations!!!!! I was going to message to say that I was sure my period was coming for 2 days before I tested as the symptoms were identical!

@Lepatz I bought Fybogel from Sainsbury's/Boots. You're allowed to use it during pregnancy etc and it definitely seemed to help for me

@Custardandcream @CardboardCat best of luck with your collections today, hoping you wake up to lots of good news

So I had my first beta blood results which were good (around 420 I think). The clinic said they were happy but, as usual, I'm super paranoid so told them I needed a repeat test 2 days later to make sure they had doubled! So hcg yesterday was 1500 so all good for now!!

Hope everyone manages to have a relaxing weekend x

Mseddy · 21/08/2020 10:58

@LongtermTTC hi. I'm not sure what that means I'm afraid. Did your clinic say when they are expecting to know if it fertlised properly or not? Have they made a plan for when they are next going to call you or anything? I'm sorry to hear that you are unsure what is going on. It's such a confusing process

OP posts:
loulamay · 21/08/2020 11:09

@Bruce2 - I think that is the best test line I've ever seen! Haha - amazing news.

@StayingPositive8 - those beta numbers sound fantastic! what dpt are you on now?

@LongtermTTC - I'm afraid I'm not sure but I would be pestering them to get some more clarity! How did you leave it with the person on the phone? I swear, it's all so day-to-day to them, that sometimes they need to slow down and explain stuff in layman's terms to us uninitiated!

Sorry to everyone not feeling well Confused - hope you're all being looked after and can take it easy over the weekend.

Not sure now who is doing a fresh transfer and who is doing freeze-all (sorry, have lost track!), but if you're not feeling up to it and your clinic want to do fresh, then see if you can change to freeze-all instead and give your body a break.

TTC2021baby · 21/08/2020 11:43

Lots to catch up on here! Glad to see some great news though - congrats to the BFPs!

I had my EC yesterday - 18 collected, 15 mature and 14 fertilised so I'm delighted!

Had to use ICSI as DH's sperm count had dropped and morphology still at 2% which wasn't what we'd hoped for but anyway, onwards and upwards!

Transferring on Tuesday at 9.30am :)
